Chapter 5 MEET AGAIN

"Brother, how about I introduce you to my girlfriend?" Ryan approached Diego, who was still swimming in the pool at their house.

"Did you say something?" Diego surfaced and tilted his head slightly to the left, trying to get the water out of his ears as he tried to dive in a few minutes ago.

"I have one girlfriend, sis; I think she's perfect for you." Ryan, who had no intention of swimming, tried to move a little away from the pool and sat on one of the lounge chairs.

"Are you kidding me?" Diego chuckled

He chose to go up to the surface to finish his swim tonight. His feet stepped into a chair that was also next to his brother, Ryan. Diego's hand took the pajama's towel and wore it, sitting quietly facing Ryan not forgetting his hand brushing his hair back. Diego's hair was longer than Ryan's, and if not for the pomade he used every day, his hair could have covered his face.

"No, I'm seriously saying this... Marcella is her name. She's very beautiful, and I'm sure you'd like her if you met her. "At first, I was also attracted to her beauty; it's just that she wasn't attracted to me, and until finally, we were just friends." Ryan set up a scenario so that his words would convince Diego to meet Marcella.

"Seeing you this good-looking isn't enough to get her interested, so what about me?" Diego opened the lid of the soda he'd bought last night. It was the first time in eight years that Diego had touched the can again, and as he drank it, he was reminded of the beautiful woman who'd caught his eye. It was just a pity that the woman didn't want to reveal her name should they meet like this.

"What's wrong with you trying it? After all, you're healthy, and you deserve a companion too." Ryan looked into Diego's eyes, who were currently also looking at him. It's just that every look Diego had in Ryan's eyes was so innocent to him that Diego was a stupid brother; it was obvious that their bodies had different bloodstreams.

"You don't have a picture? I'll come to see her if I see her picture first." Diego changed his position to lie down.

"I have a picture. Where's my phone?" Ryan looked confused as he realized that he had come to see Diego without his phone.

"Wait a minute, sis; I'll be back." Ryan cursed in his heart and took a small run towards the entrance, leaving only Diego still in the pool.

Diego's eyes stared at Ryan's departure as if he were very happy. A few days ago, Diego had thought badly of Ryan and his father. He didn't know if his thoughts had any truth to them, but what harm could it do if their last names were different? Diego just didn't want it to disappoint him when he found out what would happen if it proved to be true, and his hunch that Diego was adopted was even more painful.

Diego massaged his temples. His head would hurt again as he tried to think hard about this. "Stop, Diego, calm down; you could die over this," Diego said to himself, trying to calm his mind.

"Have you taken your medicine?"

The heavy, stern voice brought Diego's eyes back open. He thought it was his brother Ryan who was going to show up, but it was Raymon, his father, who was the stern one.

"Why are you quiet, son? I'm asking you, did you miss your medication again?" Raymon approached Diego and sat down in the chair that Ryan had previously occupied.

"I did, Daddy... I took my medicine this afternoon." Diego hid the can of soda he was drinking; he was sure, if it was seen by his father then, right away he would get a tantrum from Raymon.

"That's good... I'm sure my son will get better soon." Diego's eyes and Raymon's eyes met.

However, Diego seemed to have no mental contact with his father. I don't know if this was just a feeling.

"Don't you intend to get married, son?"

The question made Diego's pupils dilate as he tried to think once more. That what he had heard was not, in fact, a mistake

"Huh? What does daddy mean?" Diego asked again, which was the first time he had ever been asked by his father.

"Get married, son. Don't leave yourself until the end." Raymon stared at Diego's face as his head dropped.

Honestly, Raymon wanted to scream and hit the one person who had stood in his way until this moment. Raymon was only thinking about how to transfer Diego's assets quickly and legally in this way. No one could oppose or be suspicious of him and his son, Ryan.

"Haha... Who would want to marry me? Daddy, the doctor just said that the disease I'm currently experiencing is very difficult to cure, and I don't want to make my wife feel miserable having a husband like me." Diego didn't want to marry a man who wanted to live alone until the end.

"Diego listened to Daddy. No one will know when death will come; until then, what's the harm in trying to live your life like a normal human being?" Sometimes, Raymon also felt sorry for Diego. However, Raymon will never forget what happened to him while in the Maxwell family; even his girlfriend Lilly was taken by Diego's father to create karma that killed them both in a car accident 27 years ago.

"Ryan isn't this too much?" Diego looked at Ryan who seemed to be busy organizing his date today. Diego didn't know why he was so determined to do this when it was clear that he still didn't know what kind of woman he was going to meet.

After the conversation that took place between him and his father, Diego changed his mind. At least he had to experience what it meant to have a small family, how to be a good husband, and how to spend every day of his life with someone who would accompany him.

His father was right in saying that no one could predict how long and how many days he would have left. If Diego's body had lasted almost eight years so far, he had to be sure! He would live much longer as long as he took his medicine regularly and maintained his health.

"You look better than ever; no one would guess you're thirty-two years old." Ryan looked at Diego in the mirror.

Diego also looked at himself, looking much more relaxed in a light brown sweater rolled up halfway. This time his hair was not polished but tied up, which made Diego's style look much younger because it was a hundred and eighty degrees different from his usual formal shirts and suits.

"I told him to wait at the Italian restaurant you usually go to. "For the table number, I'll call you back, sis, after he arrives and tells me." Ryan smiled widely this time; he didn't pretend to be happy because, almost immediately, his plan would be a success. All that was left was for Diego to fall into the trap he had set with Marcella and his father, Raymon.

"Alright... I'll go first." Diego said goodbye to Ryan as he left with his driver, as usual. Diego would no longer be allowed to drive himself.

Ryan's eyes watched as Diego left Maxwell's luxurious mansion. A clap of hands greeted Ryan's hearing. Ryan immediately turned around and looked at his father, Raymon who was smiling at him.

"Good acting, son you deserve an Oscar for this year." Raymon smiled and gave Ryan a small pat on the shoulder.

Ryan's eyes instead looked at the woman, who looked relaxed, wearing a sexy outfit covered in a bright red satin kimono. Honestly, Ryan did not expect him to be born from the womb of a low-caste woman like Sarah, who was a maid and was now appointed head maid in this house.

"Honey, you're great."

Sarah stood beside her father and placed her dirty hands on his waist. And Sarah's one hand wanted to caress the top of Ryan's head, but Ryan's hand quickly brushed it away.

"Sarah! Stop being cheap; you're just my father's whore, and no one supports you." Ryan walked away from Sarah after saying things that must have hurt Sarah's heart. However, he did not care because his father also did not ask Ryan to respect Sarah like a real mother.
