Chapter 2: one night stand

The following morning the sun shone brightly and pierced through the French window that was slightly opened.

" ring,ring,ring,ring " the sounds of the telephone tore through the air and brought her out from her sleep.

Andrea kept switching positions but the phone won't stop ringing. She weakly opened her eyes and her hand fumbled for the phone.

She picked it up and she heard a voice over the phone " hello madam,your payment is due would you like to extend your stay or check out " the lady asked

" I will check out immediately, " Andrea quickly said.

She held her head she felt like it was spinning she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her waist making her winced in pain

She tried to recall all the events that took place last night but the image was blurry and only made everything worse.

Her gaze went back to her exposed shoulders , she quickly lifted the quilt and her eyes widened in shock.

There was blood and it came out from her, which means she had lost her innocence.

" Oh my God, what happened last night? " she asked no one in particular as she palmed her lips.

She tried to get up but she felt like her waist and legs were condemned. She didn't know whether to start laughing or crying.

" How intense was it last night? " she thought.

She looked at the room clearly and there was no one around. She didn't even get to meet the stranger she had sex with last night.

Her gaze travelled to the waste bin close to the door. She went over with difficulty each step she took. She could feel her legs shaking. She turned it upside down but there were no used condoms.

Her heart sank instantly, which means they didn't use any protection.

Or did he perhaps put the condoms in his pocket? " She asked no one in particular.

She smacked her forehead " how can someone do something that disgusting just face the reality Andrea you are doomed " she said to herself.

What if he has HIV or some kind of disease ?

"Oh God, help me " she mumbled as he shut her eyes tightly as her thoughts ran wild.

" What a jerk, he took advantage of me and ran away before I could wake up " she said as she snorted.

"ring,ring, ring " this time the sound was coming from her bag she walked over and brought out her phone from her purse.

She glanced at the caller ID rolling her eyes. It was her evil stepmother.

" What do you want? " she demanded coldly with no hint of emotion.

" Young lady, don't you even dare, where are you? Today is your sister's wedding. Do you have to show the whole world how much you hate your sister, " Rosette said over the phone.

Andrea chuckled codly and hung up without saying a word.

She picked up her bag to leave when her eyes caught sight of a men's watch which looked attractive and dazzling. She was suddenly drawn to it. She picked it up and put it in her handbag casually.

" I will take this as compensation for condemning my waist and leg. That's if it even costs 5 AUD" she said and scoffed loudly.

She checked out and flagged a taxi to Westwell Estate.

Throughout the ride, she kept trying to pressurise her brain to recall everything that happened last night, especially the man's face but there was no image she could find.

"I must have been really drunk to stupor last night." she said inwardly.

When she finally arrived she got down from the taxi and paid the driver. She proceeded into the house, the house was filled with busy workers and servants. The hall was beautifully decorated in blue and white flowers with a picture of Philip and Lisa in the shape of a heart kept in the middle.

Guess there might be an after party she thought.

She wondered how long she had been kept in the dark. She had been dating Philip ever since college who knew a day to her wedding she would find out something this big.

She strolled into her room, threw her bag on the bed and went into the bathroom.

She took off her clothes and she felt a white liquid sliding down her legs.

She threaded her hand into her hair. She had forgotten she wanted to stop by to get some contraceptive pills.

She quickly took a shower and came out in her white bathrobe.

She put on a pink cocktail gown with her hair tied up in a messy bun. She only did her skin routine without wasting any time to apply makeup before heading out of the house.

The chauffeur was already waiting downstairs, and soon she arrived at the church. This was the church she was supposed to get married in with Philip.

She nervously pushed the door open and all the guests were already cordially seated. Her gaze travelled into the distance where she found Philip and Lisa standing on the altar with the priest standing in between as they said their vows.

She stared at her wedding dress that Lisa was putting on. She had been staring at that same dress for weeks, when the stylist from Italy brought it over she gently placed it safely and had been anticipating for this very moment.

Looking at her own sister putting on her wedding gown which fitted her perfectly made her balled her fist tightly.

She gently walked in and sat at the middle seat, not wanting to look at the smug smile on Lisa's face saying " the victory is mine "

She turned to her right and she had some ladies whispering among themselves

" isn't supposed to be Andrea's wedding. How did Lisa end up with the groom? "

" I heard it's because Andrea is an illegitimate child of the Grahams "

What people didn't know was that she had a sharp hearing. She could easily hear people whispering from a distance but at this moment she wished she never had this special gift.

Someone tapped her shoulders slightly from behind, jolting her from her sorrowful thoughts. She turned around and it was her college friend.

" Andrea what's going on? " Elena said like a whisper.

Everyone who was present here were all shocked to see Lisa and Philip on the altar instead of Andrea but no one dared let out their thoughts.

They could only gossip among themselves or rather still keep their thoughts to themselves.

After the ceremony was concluded, Andrea walked over to the both of them

" Congratulations and best wishes " she said with a smile and turned around to leave.

" Andrea!" Philip called out to her.

She slowly turned around " thanks and you too " he said.

She nodded and left the church.

That was a five year relationship down the drain. She looked up at the sky and a smile appeared on her face. She believed there's always a bright side to everything.

She arrived home and she guessed the after party wouldn't be hosted any longer at the house. She went into her room and threw herself on the bed exhaustedly. She shut her eyes to rest for a while and slowly drifted off to sleep.

By the time she opened her eyes, it was already 10pm

" Jesus Christ! " she muttered as she rose to her feet immediately.

She had just remembered she hadn't purchased the contraceptive pills. She opened her closet and brought out baggy jeans and a t-shirt. She put on a bucket hat and face mask.

She didn't want anyone to spot her at the pharmacy purchasing contraceptive pills even though she was the illegitimate daughter of the Grahams everyone still knew her and she couldn't afford to drag their name into the mud after all they were one of the largest families in Australia.

She could have ordered online but she couldn't take the risk once her step mother finds out she knew she was going to be thrown out of the house for good. Rosette has been looking for means to get rid off her and it was as if she was creating the opportunity for it to happen.

She purchased them and walked out of the pharmacy. She couldn't wait to arrive home before taking it. After consuming the drugs she heaved a sigh of relief.

She sneakily walked into the house luckily the lights were off, indicating that everyone was probably in their rooms and asleep.

She reached for the stairs and suddenly the light turned on.
