Chapter 3 MARRYNG OF CONVENIENCE

CHAPTER 03

Mia sat next to her sister on the floor entering what she believed to be madness, the curtains were closed and what should pass security to Ava, took the snack from the wrapping, gave Ava's and started to eat hers.

"How much do you want this time?" she asked carefree, knowing her sister's involvement in petty embezzlement crimes, always having to pay someone off or being beaten up.

"My life" he said as his eyes filled with tears.

"What did they do this time?" she asked , leaving her lunch aside while hugging her sister, worrying about the seriousness of her sister's tears, while stroking her hair that had been cut into holes, noting that her head was bruised, indicating that her sister had been beaten a lot.

Mia and Ava lost their mother to cancer when they were young, Mia was eleven and Ava seven. Mia quickly realized that no one would love and care for them like her mother had, nor her father, taking on the role of mother to Ava, fighting and protecting, gaining independence at sixteen, taking Ava with her.

"I didn't know who I was working for, the information I had was that the money was good sister, we stole the government, valuable information, I did the whole process but I didn't keep anything, Maycon is dead and the next one is me".

"Ava, I don't understand what you're saying."

"Mia I'm saying I'm condemned to death because I entered the government system, I was hired by an important man, we're talking about information and state secrets, things that can take and put people in power. I know it sounds crazy or something in my head, but it's not."

"Who hit you?"

"There were many people interested in the content, we were betrayed and as soon as I downloaded the content to the prendrive we were stolen and deceived, but they didn't believe that I did my part and it wasn't my fault that someone cheated on everyone. I was beaten to confess what I didn't do, then they beat me to revert what I did, or do it again, but it wasn't possible, they killed Maycon as a style for me. They beat me up so much that they thought they had killed me, they left me in a big house with homeless people and drug users to be found as an indigent, that's why I'm here."

"If they think you're dead, it means you're safe."

"They are the Mia government, as soon as there is no report narrating the death of another homeless person, they will look for me, this is not the type of failure that passes".

"What do I do Ava?" he asked afraid the situation was true "Leave me in the basement please, give me medicine, this is the last time I bother you".

"Let's go to the police ".

"They are the police Mia, I'm stuck".

The two continued lying on the floor, Mia cried without Ava noticing, she didn't understand how a person as smart as her sister who managed to break into the government system managed to get into so many troubles and bad things, thinking that with that digital skill Ava could work what he wanted in the company he wanted, but he chose crime, the irresponsible, suffering and painful life he led.

Mia was afraid the story was real, because if Ava was wanted by the government, she would surely be found quickly in her basement, but she had nowhere to take her.

Before reaching the basement Mia insisted that Ava take a shower and change the dirty clothes she was wearing, then accompanied her sister dragging herself there, made a bed, gave medicine and while she ate Mia examined her sister's head, then evened her hair with careful as she could with scissors, letting simple tears fall knowing that in the future, as soon as the wounds were healed, they would have to scrape them off to grow the same. It was sad for Mia to witness the bad path Ava had chosen for herself, being able to only take care of her and nothing else.

"Ava we have to go to the doctor".

"The worst is over sister, now I'm fine".

Ava didn't speak, but she wasn't well, she felt severe pain in her head and body where she preferred not to show the marks to her sister, lying down with difficulty on the makeshift bed and falling asleep.

Mia left her thinking that life had been cruel to them for having lost their loving mother early, but she didn't understand why Ava didn't do like her, getting a job and contenting herself with being responsible and happy with what she had, but Ava always wanted have more than you can. Mia was easygoing and hardworking, she believed in the law of attraction, that if she did her best honestly by going through life, she would give good things in return, or at least repayment, she was a well-regarded woman in the places where she had worked, well-regarded in his neighborhood and dear within the community where he lived, even though he had difficulties in making friends, the fact of not interfering in people's lives conveyed a good image.

Mia found out early on that going the hard way didn't bring money, but it did guarantee peace, she had to take care of Ava, give the love that her father was unable to give, as well as the aunts, needed to stand firm for her sister.

The ringing of the doorbell made Mia's heart shudder with fear, thinking how quickly the government had found her and would take Ava away from her. There was no way to escape, the only option Mia had was to open the door, it was late but she decided to watch through the living room window a luxury car parked in front of the sidewalk and two men in black in front of her door.

Mia said she was coming, removed everything that indicated that Ava was at her house out of the way, hiding it inside the washing machine . He took a photo of the car and the men, thought about sending it to someone, but he had no friends other than his sister, took a deep breath and opened the door saying:

"Good evening, how can I help you?" He asked, feeling his body trembling with fear.

"Is this Mia Mia?" asked one of the men.

Mia watched the men, both were armed and there seemed to be more people in the car, fearing that moment was the end of her.

"Yes",
