Chapter 2 Untold

WHY did I teleport? Did I do something wrong? Am I the one who's about to cheat?

My reflexes are the culprit. I should get back now, tsk.

"I've been asking too many questions to myself I shouldn't even bother abo-"

Talking to myself was cut short because of a rustling sound I heard behind me.

What is that?

As usual, my reflexes do the messaging to my brain, and the reason I turned my head back was to see what was it.

To my surprise, it was Nathan. Pfft, why is it still surprising me? He's always coming here with that sound, though.

"Wandering alone? Isn't it a bit dangerous these days for you to be alone here?" he asked while walking toward me.

"It was my powers who led me here," I replied.

Nathan chuckled.

"Alright, I believe you. Do you want to go back inside?" he asked.

I looked my eyes away.

"Do I look like I need a companion?"

"Whoa, don't feel so special about yourself. You don't need it, but I need it."

I rolled my eyes after realizing.

It was about Yna. He wanted to meet her but doesn't want to make it look so obvious.

I just led the way without spitting a word.

"I heard about the news," he suddenly said.

"What news?"

I looked at him and told him about the fugitives.

"They escaped? The fallen deities? Together with my brother?"

I took a deep breath.

"Nathan, you're brother died long ago. It wasn't Dylan anymore, it's just his body."

He shook his head.

"Whatever you say, I believe that Dylan is just out there. Maybe his soul is still wandering, waiting for me to recognize him."

"Pfft, are werewolves always thinking like this? Your kind of creatures is so lame."

Nathan stopped me from walking by grabbing my head.

"Who's lame now, huh?!" he replied while laughing.

ARGH! I should've ignored his tease. Now, he's doing it.

But it didn't take us to court for him to let me go.

"Just don't wander around. The fallen deities might just be waiting for your weak moments to overcome your emotions. Guard yourself," Nathan said and advances to the main door of the mansion.

"Why is it so important for you if I wander around the forest or not? I lived here my whole life. Those strange and scary creatures to your eyes look like normal things to me. I'm older than you, brat!"

"I was just worried about you. Things are starting to get out of hand," he said while looking straight into my eyes.

What was that about?

Aish! Overthinking is overrated.

"STOP IT NOW, HEIN!" Hiro shouted.

Nathan and I separated the two humans from each other. I captured Hiro, but he's still resisting and wanted to attack Hein.

So I let his body face me forcibly.

It took time for him to notice that I'm already here.

"Could you please calm down? For me, please?" I asked.

Hiro took a deep breath. It was a long breath before he hug me.

"I'm sorry for causing a ruckus in your place, Aya. I just can't handle her words anymore," he said and glared at him.

"Why did you even fight in the first place? And what brings you here, human?" Nathan asked.

"I just wanted to see Hiro if he's doing great. Your guardian is the one who came to me and give me your address. I guess she wanted you to end up to a human, Hiro. Also, Hiro is the one who started the fight."

"I wouldn't if you just stopped insulting my girlfriend! You came here to mock her, aren't you? Be honest now or I will chop off your two fingers and use it to take your left eye."

Oh god, that was a strong curse.

"I told you, I wasn't mocking her1 I was just... you know... describing her? She looked like a dog, though."

My eyes turned red.

I wanted to attack her, and so is Hiro.

But Yna is the one who did the honor.

Yna, who just came into the scene, slapped Hein.

"Are you planning to make money from my brother again?" she asked.

Hein rolled her eyes.

"Why are you guys kept on saying such nonsense things?!" Hein asked.

"Alright, stop now," Mune said.

We seated in the living area to talk calmly.

Aish, I should have used my power and swished her away. That face of a human, I hate it. I want to crumple her face and throw it at the dungeon of a dragon.

"Okay, I'll go straight to the point. Venus wanted me to stay with you here. I don't know why. I just pay a visit to see who I'm going to live with, and I saw you all. It's in my nature to insult and mock people. Sorry, I'm just a mere human who makes mistakes."

I smirked.

"What nice reasoning. When humans are about to get caught with their ungodly behavior, all they do is say that. 'I'm just a human.' Yes, you people don't have supernatural power but at least act humanely. You're making me lose my faith in you," Mune said and rolled his eyes.

"What is wrong with saying that? Our guardians made us human like something we don't want to like or hate someone we don't want to. Our personal desires are appointed by our guardian."

I'm getting sick of it. Hearing her talk is making me lose myself.

"Whatever, stop interrogating her. She just woke up from a coma after that car accident she had before. Let's just wrap it up. Tell us, why do you have to live here?" I asked.

"Because Venus said so?"

"How would we know that?"

"Try to ask her, then."

"That's a lot of work."

"Is it my fault then? Your guardian is the one who put me in this position. If you hated me hanging with you, then blame her. She's the one who's at fault here."

Aish!

Hiro stood up.

"If you are to live here, Amaya and I will leave."

Huh? Does he hate her so much that we have to evacuate?

"Isn't that a bit much?" Nathan asked.

"Shut up, you should get out now, Nathan. You have nothing to do with our business."

"I have because we still have an unfinished business."

Hein suddenly laughed like crazy.

"Why are you sending me away indirectly? Are you that afraid that she would know how much you adore me?" Hein asked.

"Stop bitching around here. I'll be the one to cut your hair short with my bare hands if you continue mocking Amaya," Mune said.

I rolled my eyes.

I have a lot of questions now.

Why does another human have to be involved in us?

"We still have a soul to collect. Let's send her away for now since she just came today to check us out. I think it wouldn't sound so rude if we force her to get out," I said while raising my brow.

"Okay, okay! You don't have to force me. I will leave by myself."

Hein stood up and took her things.

She was walking away from us without even bidding goodbye? Rude human.

After reaching the door, she took a glimpse of us and glared.

"What?!" Nathan asked out of the blue.

Hein is finally out of the mansion now.

"WHOO! Finally, some peace."

"That brat," Yna said while gripping the newspaper she was holding.

That's what I called grudge.

"She was one of the missing souls back then. But what I don't understand, is Venus' plans. What does she want this time?" I asked.

"We should ask her directly."

"We can never go back to the moon now. It's been locked by her. She said she doesn't want to interfere in human affairs."

"She said that after forcing us to live with her?!"

"Only you, Amaya, and I will transfer to the city."

"WHAT?! Come on! Don't leave me here!" Nathan uttered.

We ignored Nathan and kept our mouths shut.

"No, we have to stay here, Hiro. Something is up. I can feel it."

I have to know what is this sudden event that Venus tasked us to do.
