She laid on her back with their black wings spread on the grass when she heard footsteps. Her eyes narrowed and she sat up. They were light, someone was hiding!
She stood up and looked at the trees behind her when she saw a piece of red cloth behind a particular tree. She smirk appeared on her face. Finally something to do.
She rose slowly and approached the tree carefully as she didn't want the person to escape. She could her the person's heart beat so fast, probably in fear.
When she suddenly appeared in front of the human, a gasp escaped her lips. The girl who looked around her age looked up at Eva in fear. She had heard tales about a strange girl in the forest but she never thought she would actually meet her. Her heart thudded faster, she was doomed!
Erys tilted her head to stare at the girl who has a terrified look on her face. Her brown eyes wide in fear, her long curly blonde fell down her shoulders almost reaching her waist, freckles decorated her nose and cheeks.
"Hi there, I'm Erys. What's your name?" She said with a sweet smile.
"I.. I'm K... Klara" came a small voice but Erys could hear her clearly, her hearing skills were exceptional.
"Hi Klara, would you like to be friends?" She said with that sweet smile never leaving her face. After meeting Axel, she had grown more confident. Although she was still wary, she came to a conclusion that not all humans were the same. Some were nice like Axel and she wanted to get along with them so she could finally come out of hiding and live like a normal person.
"I have no friends, I once had one... But she was killed" Her smile died down as she remembered Luna.
"oh... sorry" was all Klara could say, though the creature in front of her didn't look half as scary as the creatures in the story she had heard but she still didn't let her guard down.
"Come" Erys said leading her to the river and Klara hesistatly followed, scared of disobeying this creature, her movements slow and shaky.
Erys looked back at her new terrified scared friend who was walking like an old person with stroke. She passed a sad smile a little bit hurt that the human didn't trust her. She didn't blame her. Afterall, they all tagged her as a monster.
"I'm not going to hurt you, I don't hurt my friends " She said sitting in her former position as she stared at the calm river.
"I'm just so..... Lonely " She said and Klara finally sat beside her as she stared at the creature beside her in awe. She was breathtaking.
"Where are your parents" Klara asked.
"I don't know" Erys shrugged "I just woke up here in the forest and............. grew up I guess" She muttered. "Oh and there's Nyx, She was like my parent I guess. But she left, all of the sudden, left no message."
"oh that's sad, must have been lonely " Klara commented suddenly beginning to feel comfortable around the creature.
"It wasn't so sad, I had Luna, and Nyx too. Even though they're both gone now." She said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes and a lone teardrop rolled down her cheek and she used the back of her hand to wipe it away.
"I'm sorry" Klara said sincerely "They seem like wonderful people"
"She was" was all Erys said and silence reigned between them.
It was peaceful and the breeze blew made the atmosphere a calm one. Klara began to wonder if this was the same creature they told stories about back in the village. She was the opposite of what people rumored her to be. In fact, her story was quiet sad, Klara couldn't imagining growing up without her parents or losing one of them.
"Can you swim " Erys asked out the blue.
"huh?"
"I mean, do you know how to swim?"
"uh.. Y. Yes, I can swim " She answered and followed Erys' gaze to the river in front of them. Klara's head began to shake.
"N.. No.. No.. No. No. No" She shook her head.
"But why? " Erys pouted.
"I'll get wet and I'll -"
"I have extra clothes and I'm sure they fit you"
"N-"
"please, please I've always wanted to do this with a friend. Pleaseee" She gave a pitiful look and Klara groaned.
"Fine" she blurted and before she knew it she was splashed with water. She gaped at Erys who was already inside the water grinning and splashing like a child when she was splashed again.
"oh no you don't! " she muttered before Jumping in the river, splashing water back and the two of them continued splashing and laughing until they were both worn out.
Erys brought new clothes from the little house she lived in for them to change into and like she predicted, it fitted her perfectly.
Just then, Eyrs' stomach growled out in hunger and she remembered that she hasn't taken a thing since then bread she ate last night
"uhm... Klara.. Can I have some... Bread... Please"
"Bread? " Klara seemed surprised at her requested and Erys nodded her head pouting her lips as her blue-grey eyes practically begged Klara.
"Fine, but you need to be careful, we'll be going to my house back in the village " She said thinking of a way to sneak Erys into her house without the villagers seeing her.
An idea suddenly struck her and Klara let out a grin "I have an idea! "
