Chapter 4 Marrying carelessly

After 40 minutes, Herieth arrived at the Ilala district head's office. As soon as she arrived she saw the face of the man who followed her standing at the door of the office of the registrar of marriages, generations and deaths. The man looked dapper in a perfectly pressed khaki shirt and black trousers. He was tall and strong. He ran to her immediately after loading his car.

"You have come." Herieth 's voice was filled with shocked disbelief.

When the man turned back, he smelled the alcohol that had been lingering in Herieth 's body since the night before. "Didn't you shower?"

Herieth was immediately embarrassed. When he smelled it, she had the smell of alcohol coming from her body. "I drank too much alcohol last night, so I was already passed out when I got home. when I woke up this morning I was in a hurry, so I just jumped out without a shower so I could..."

When she realized that the man was increasingly disrespecting her, she quickly swore, "Today was just bad luck. I usually shower every day and I like to keep myself clean."

The man did not seem to care about Herieth 's words. His praise doubled after Herieth got a good look at him that morning. she realized that the man was not only handsome but also serious. He knew how to keep time and did not make false promises. His clothes also added to his attractive personality and made him more attractive. If she decided to examine him one by one then Herieth would probably spend the whole day describing the man's beauty.

Herieth saw that the few girls who were going to the registry office were also looking at the man with great envy.

"What a handsome man." One woman spoke clearly.

The man who was next to the woman also said, "That girl is very attractive."

"That's true. They match well. Their future children will probably be good, unlike ours, how blessed they are...!"

When the discussion reached the ears of the man, Herieth 's prospective husband, he immediately said, "We will not have children. That is the first condition of our marriage."

Herieth was surprised but couldn't say anything. Zack's desire to be the centre of attention closed her ears and made her see the condition as nothing. The man continued to say,

"I will divorce you after three years and I will pay you an amount of money that will last you the rest of your life. Also, I will not meet your family. Think about these terms carefully. If you can't agree to this deal, you can leave."

Herieth felt nothing in her heart. Even though she was going to marry the man she met just one day at night. her intention was not to get married but she was just looking for a way to become Zack's aunt by marrying his uncle. So she didn't care about other things at all.

Therefore, she had no intention of arguing with his terms. She believed that with her power she could change one condition to another if she wanted to. With her charm, she believed that she could win the man's heart in those three years. At that moment, she had to put the betrayal aside and think more about integrating her identity as the Zacks star.

"Okay." Herieth agreed.

As soon as Herieth agreed, the two first went to take pictures together before entering the registrar's office. The photographer who had spent a long time photographing them, was not satisfied with the results since the two seemed to have different emotions.

"Can't you get close and look like lovers? Also, you sir, please smile even from a distance then." Complained the photographer.

An impatient look crossed the man's face. Herieth immediately held his hand, then said with a smile, "His facial nerves are damaged, so he suffers from facial paralysis. Don't force him anymore. Just leave him."

The man grunted but said nothing. He felt very humiliated by his expression and threw an angry look at Herieth who was wearing a happy smile.

"You better stop talking nonsense if you want to marry me." The man whispered in Herieth 's ear rudely as she stood calmly next to her. A delicious aroma came from his mouth, exciting Herieth.

The man froze and remained silent. The photographer felt sorry for him believing the words that Herieth said, that a handsome young man like him had facial paralysis.

After Herieth and her husband-to-be finished the photo shoot, they headed to the first floor to register their marriage. It was only when the man took his citizenship certificate that Herieth finally saw his full name - Roman Frank!

However, Zack's mother's surname was Maximus. In that case, his uncle Zack's surname should have been Maximus as well. Surprised, Herieth asked, "Why is your last name Frank?"

"Uh-huh." Roman with his head down to sign the marriage documents did not bother to know what Herieth meant. He simply replied, "I use my mother's surname."

"Oh." Herieth finally understood. She had been filled with fear earlier thinking that she might have gotten involved with a man who was not right according to her expectations. She only decided to marry the man because he is Zack's uncle. However, she felt that something was not right, but she just continued to complete the exercise.

Ten minutes later, the marriage certificates were issued. Herieth felt incredibly sad and happy at the same time. Since childhood, she had thought that she would marry Zack. Against her expectations, she married a man she had only met once.

"Here is my contact number. I have something important to attend to right now, so I will leave first." Roman wrote his number on a blank piece of paper and gave it to Herieth before he left.

"Wait a minute..." Herieth stopped him as soon as she came back to her senses. "Now that we are married, we have to live together."

In a bad voice, Roman replied, "I don't prefer to live with someone else."

"I am your lawfully wedded wife, no one else. Even if we break up three years later, we still have to live together." Herieth defended herself. Roman just looked at her feeling disturbed. He didn't want to talk anymore. Waving the marriage certificate in her hand, Herieth shouted trying to gain his sympathy. "I am very sad. Ever since my long-lost sister returned, my parents have been treating me with contempt. And now I'm completely kicked out of the house and I don't have a place to stay."

"You can go and rent a house somewhere, I'll give you money," Roman replied brutally as he walked away without a care.

"Don't leave me, my husband!" Herieth suddenly screamed, grabbing his hand tightly with her soft hands. "I have nothing but you right now." Her increasingly loud voice attracted the attention of many people to look at him beside the office of the district head with a crowd of people.

Pulling an angry face, Roman regretted marrying carelessly. "Okay. I live in Oyster Bay, Buzwagi Street. Go there yourself, the address of the house is here and the secret numbers to open the door are here." Roman told her while handing her another wallet, then warned her gently, "You will sleep in the guest room. You are not allowed to enter my room."
