Chapter 8 Shit going wrong

Damon's p.o.v

"What?" I asked in a whisper when her expression turned cold.

"Please refrain from talking to me Sir. I want to have a peaceful college life without having any unwanted enemies or occurrences going on." She answered under her breath with emphasis.

Ah, so that was the problem. She didn't want to get involved with the trash behind me.

I smirked then walked past her without another word.

"Unique." Was all I could mutter under my breath before walking into my office.

Never was I this impressed over a lady acting that way. While some would be so euphoric over having me talk to them in public, yet she chose to keep away from me. Everytime she proved how unique she was.

"Was she taken?"

That silent question in my mind made my heart beat rapidly.

Why was I acting like that towards a stranger I had only met last night. Was it because she was beautiful?. No. I had met women who were twice as beautiful as she was, not to forget sexy, but I reacted as I did normally around them. Maybe I was attracted to how composed and rude she was towards me.

What made everything very interesting was how she acted, the exact opposite of what I thought she would act, and that sparked me completely.

"You look awfully happy just now." A familiar voice that I knew all too well came through annoying me.

I turned to my left with a glare and faced Collins, my childhood friend.

"You know that this is my freaking office don't you?" I asked seriously with a raised brow.

He sat upright from the couch and shrugged.

"So?" He asked lazily.

"So, you have no right to walk in here when I'm not around." I answered.

"Jeez Matt at times you act like ....."

"Not Matt. At work it's Damon." I corrected with emphasis.

He kept quiet for a second then cleared his throat.

Matt was my made-up name which I used a lot whenever I was away from work. At first, it started as a simple game between Collins and me, but with time the name became a part of me, and what was more ironic was the fact that my first name was Damon. Yep, I was literally Matt Damon.

"Fine Damon, I came to ask you about the changed schedule for next week." He said while standing up.

I coldly shifted and trailed my eyes on his long legs.

"Your legs are just fine, how about you walk to the principal's office and have him give you the schedule." I suggested.

He widened his eyes then laughed softly.

"If some people were to hear us right now they would think we are truly strangers." He said then walked to the door and touched the handle.

"How about we grab a cold beer after classes?" I asked softly before he could turn the knob.

He moved slightly to face me with a smile then nodded.

"Sure." He answered then walked out of my office.

I sighed softly and brushed my hand through my hair.

What the fuck was wrong with me. I was easily losing my cool.

Collins was truly an easy person to understand and please. If not for how good and kind-hearted he was, we wouldn't have been close friends for so long. We had this mutual understanding between us.

I walked to my desk and picked up a silver pen that I had laid there an hour ago.

Just thinking back on how we both survived our hardships and worked hard to achieve everything we have now was really heartwarming.

As cold as I was towards my students and other people, It was hard acting the same way with Collins, unlike my father.

The moment I played my cold cards I immediately felt bad or tried to reverse my words. There was no need of seeing that sad glint in his eyes, he was like my little brother from another mother.

I slightly moved my hand and glanced at my wristwatch. I had 30 minutes more left before my next class could begin.

I sighed loudly then went around my desk and sat down.

"Hera," I whispered out her name with a smile.

I wasn't going to let her be. What I needed to first find out was if she was seeing someone. Then we needed to talk, pretty soon, be it here or anywhere.

Was I suppose to go to her place and introduce myself as her lecturer to the mother?.

No, that was a bit creepy.

I moved my hand to my face and chuckled softly.

What the actual fuck was she doing to me.

Never was I this bothered by stupid issues such as love, dating, or sex.

Yes, I fucked around a few times because women dropped themselves easily to my feet, but there was never a day I had to chase after a girl, to make matters worse a student. But here I was desperately thinking of ways to chase after her. How could I reach as far as wanting to go to her house!.

I stood up feeling very frustrated and walked out of the office.

I ignored the usual murmurs and whispers in the corridor and marched into the classroom. Immediately I looked at the desk I was met with light grey eyes.

I frowned then looked at my wristwatch.

Damn it. I was ten minutes early. The one taking the class was Debbie, my colleague.

"Um sorry to walk in while you were still here. It's just that I wanted a word with you." I lied.

The whole classroom immediately went silent.

She blinked a few times before pointing at herself.

"With me?" She asked in a cracked voice.

I understood her shock completely. Never was there a day we talked or greeted each other. To be specific, I ignored her completely even when she tried to get closer.

"Yes, is there a problem?" I asked back.

"No, not at all. Um...now?" She asked.

"Yes," I answered.

She quickly fixed her skirt and walked out as I followed behind.

When we were out she quickly turned with a huge smile plastered on her face.

"So, I was planning to go grab some beers after I knock off. I was wondering...."

"Yes." She answered cutting me short.

I frowned then looked around to make sure she was answering me.

"Yes, what?" I asked feeling confused.

"You wanted to ask me to join you right?" She asked back.

No. I didn't want to, I wanted to excuse myself for walking in by offering to bring her one tomorrow.

"Uh Yeah." I lied.

She squealed in a low tone then nodded.

Crap. Shit was going wrongly.
