Chapter 2 Rosy's Ignorance

Rosy sneered when she saw Brian hang up the phone.

She said mockingly, "Brian, do you take us for fools? Do you honestly believe we will fall for that fake call and think you are from a wealthy family? Isn't it ridiculous of you to try to make me envious of your fake wealth and regret what I did?"

Brian glared at her.

His eyes were blank and icy.

However, he just snorted, turned around, and walked away.

Rosy was perplexed when she saw Brian leaving decisively.

She had an unrelenting feeling that something was off.

On the other hand, Brian had mixed emotions as he left the villa community.

He was a young man from a very wealthy and influential family.

He began learning martial arts at the age of seven, medicine at the age of eight, and completed further studies at the premier music school at the age of ten.

He could even compete with the world boxing champion when he was fifteen years old.

That year, his father requested him to participate in the mental trial in Grutgan.

He had to live like a regular person for five years and couldn't accept assistance from others.

He had to rely only on himself, using willpower and determination.

He couldn't reveal his identity during this time nor employ his acquired abilities and knowledge.

Following his arrival in Grutgan, Brian worked part-time while studying.

Through his efforts, he ultimately enrolled as a freshman at Everin University in the third year.

Brian, a first-year college student with little prior romantic experience, met Rosy.

They swiftly became a couple.

Following the trial, he intended to reveal who he was to her.

After that, he would take her home and enjoy their gracious living ever after.

But now...

He wondered how Rosy would react if she discovered he was a wealthy person.

Honestly, Brian looked forward to seeing her reaction.

He scoffed as he pedaled his bike loaded with packages to the following villa district.

He had absolutely no need to make any more deliveries as he was the chairman of a financial organization worth trillions of dollars.

But he had his own set of rules. He wouldn't abandon these packages aside just because the trial ended.

It was already evening when he finished delivering all the packages and returned to his apartment.

"Why are you back so late? You must be worn out. I bought some spaghetti. Come and have some."

Rosy had returned, acting as if nothing had happened. She sat on the sofa and put on a face mask.

Moreover, she had unexpectedly prepared dinner for Brian.

Brian had previously cooked every meal, and Rosy had never set foot in the kitchen.

However, Brian ignored her and went straight to his small room to pack up his belongings.

He was the one who rented the apartment, which had two rooms, one large and one small.

The large one served as a bedroom, while the smaller one as a utility room.

Brian had modified the utility room to be his bedroom.

Rosy followed him inside with her hands akimbo after noticing he appeared to be moving out.

She angrily complained, "Are you going to leave because of such a trivial matter?"

"A trivial matter?" Brian gazed at her, startled. "You betrayed me! Do you think that's a trivial matter?"

He continued stuffing his clothes into the suitcase.

Rosy looked a little regretful.

Although Brian did deliveries, he usually gave her two thousand dollars per month.

She didn't want to lose the money, and she didn't want to leave the apartment where she was living for free.

She argued, "I just put on an act in front of Jonathan. Everything I did was for you!

If I get along well with Jonathan, perhaps he'll be willing to hire you in his company. You won't have to do deliveries if he can employ you. Everything I did was for your benefit!

I would have succeeded if it hadn't been for your unexpected visit today, which upset Jonathan!

But it doesn't matter. Just apologize to him tomorrow at Maggie's birthday party, and I will mediate. Maybe by doing this, he will let it go."

Brian shouted, "I apologize to him? I will never do such a degrading thing for money as you!"

Brian finally understood the significance of the family trial after saying that.

It turned out that having strong morals was vital.

"Rosy, let's break up. The bracelet I gave you is from my grandmother. Please give it back."

Rosy couldn't believe what she had just heard.

"What did you say? How could you easily end our relationship? Why should I return the bracelet to you?"

Looking at his blank face, she took a deep breath and continued, "If you want to end our relationship, you must pay me one million dollars for mental suffering because I went through a lot while we were together."

Brian was completely stunned.

He didn't expect her to be so shameless.

How could she betray him and even request a million dollars from him as payment for their breakup?

Brian thought she wasn't worth his time. "You won't get a cent from me! And I need my grandmother's bracelet back! If not, my lawyer will contact you!"

He didn't reveal to her that the unimpressed bracelet was not only an item from his deceased grandmother, but it also indicated that the one wearing it would eventually marry into the Tennant family.

After saying that, Brian took his suitcase and left.

Following him behind, Rosy shouted, "You bastard! Loser! Remember my words! You will undoubtedly regret breaking up with me! I'll get married to Jonathan and join his multi-millionaire family!

By then, I will let him teach you a lesson! There is no amount of pleading that will make me change my mind!"

Rosy cursed at him madly.

Brian was incredibly calm and ignored her.

He knew how absurd her words were!

She wanted Jonathan, who was worth tens of millions of dollars, to humiliate him, who was worth trillions?

That was so ridiculous!
