Chapter 4 Feeling Familiar

The entrance bell rang loudly, making all the students sigh in disappointment. Even though they still wanted to stare at the handsome new student. Forced to disperse, the girls went to their respective classes.

"Let's go back to class!" said Ghea while pulling Inez's hand. Inez didn't move, making Ghea glare at her best friend again. "Nez, you heard the bell ring, right?"

"I heard it," said Inez as she glanced at Ghea for a split second, and then focused all her attention on the new student.

"That's it, let's hurry up."

"You go first," Inez replied. "I need a minute with that boy." Inez's chin pointed at the new student.

Ghea glared at Inez's statement. She, who knew what Inez was going to do after this, just stared in disbelief. "Are you for real, Nez? That new student?"

"Why, can't I? Who's forbidding it? No one, right?" Inez squinted her eyes at Ghea. Her hands were still folded in front of her chest.

"Well, no one," said Ghea clumsily. She grimaced and scratched the back of her neck, which wasn't itchy at all. "Then I'll go back to class first, good luck, Nez!" After finishing speaking, Ghea hurriedly turned around and ran a little towards her class. She occasionally looked back at Inez, who was already walking.

With a confident gesture, Inez did not let go of her smile. Her footsteps quickened as she approached the new student. Now, she was much closer. Inez stopped for a few seconds and saw that the student looked confused.

Inez smiled, then started walking again and approached the new student. Something caught Inez's attention, making her immediately move faster. Inez grabbed a small paper that was in the boy's hand.

"Hey!" The boy exclaimed in surprise when Inez stood in front of him while carrying the small paper she was holding. The boy then fell silent while looking at Inez uncomprehendingly.

Inez looked up and smiled. "Are you looking for your class?" Inez's eyebrows dipped one upward as she raised the small paper in her hand. Meanwhile, the boy was still silent and watching Inez's face. He seemed to recognize Inez, but he couldn't remember when and where he had met her.

"Hello? I'm talking to you," Inez said with a loud voice. She waved her hand in front of the boy's face.

Blinking slowly and catching his breath, the boy thought for a moment. "What?"

"What?!"

The boy jumped in surprise when Inez spoke quickly and loudly. He blinked his eyes repeatedly, not understanding.

"Didn't you hear what I said?" asked Inez, her knuckles on her index finger colored navy blue, pointing at her. Her eyes widened.

The boy shook his head innocently. Making Inez sigh deeply. "Come with me."

"Where to?"

"Hell," Inez replied simply. She was about to turn around, but decided against it when he responded.

"I'm sorry?"

Inez held her breath for a moment. "To your class, I'll take you to class. What's wrong with you? I know you're confused about your class, right?"

The boy was still silent.

"I guessed right, didn't I?"

Not wanting to prolong matters, the boy just nodded. Not entirely wrong, he was indeed confused about the whereabouts of his class, although in fact his goal before hearing the bell ring was to find the cafeteria. His stomach was hungry, begging to be filled.

"Cakra?" Inez muttered while nodding her head. "Your name is pretty good, it's not bad with your face."

"Where did you get my name?" The boy gave Inez a confused look. "You're psychic, aren't you?"

"Your name tag!" Inez replied briefly, before turning around. She walked first.

Cakra felt stupid himself, he grimaced for a while. His hand moved to scratch his thick eyebrows, even though it wasn't itchy. He should have known that she could see his name tag, but he didn't think about it.

"Why are you still there? Don't want to go to class?"

Cakra immediately looked up. He hurriedly chased Inez and walked side by side with her. Occasionally, Cakra stole glances at Inez. It wasn't that he was looking for an opportunity, it was just that he seemed to be familiar with Inez. He wrestled with his own mind while thinking about it.

Maybe it's just my feelings. Cakra muttered to himself. Both of his shoulders lifted up.

"This is your class," Inez said after stopping at the door of Cakra's class.

Cakra nodded briefly. Without saying a word, he then walked past Inez and entered the class that would accommodate him.

Inez widened her eyes. "Hey you!"

Cakra stopped stepping at the doorway. He turned his gaze towards Inez, thinking she was calling his name. His forehead wrinkled in confusion as he waited for Inez to say a sentence.

"You don't want to say thank you to me?" asked Inez.

"Thanks." He smiled slightly, then resumed his footsteps, making Inez glare in disbelief. Her foot jerked in annoyance.

"You bummer!" Inez stomped her foot on the floor. Her eyes, which had turned razor-sharp, stared at the class occupied by Cakra. That boy was really annoying.

Not wanting to be there for long, plus the bell that rang a few minutes ago, indicating that class had started, made Inez let out a long breath and walk towards her class with a feeling of resentment.

Arriving in class, there was already an Indonesian teacher as the first hour material. Fortunately, Inez was good at playing roles, so it was easy for her to find excuses for her late entry. And it worked, Inez was allowed to sit in her seat.

Looking up quickly and turning her head to the side, Ghea developed a smile. She brought her face closer to Inez. "What about your plan?" she whispered.

Inez looked at Ghea with a flat face, then she snorted in annoyance and looked away. Ghea frowned at her best friend's expression.

"Nez, answer me!" Ghea urged, her body position now leans more towards Inez. She wanted to know. "How? You failed, huh?"

"You bummer, go away." Inez threw a sarcastic look at Ghea while waving her hand.

Ghea's lips immediately pursed forward. "I just want to know, Nez, why can't I?"

"You want to be kicked out of class and punished while saluting the flag on the field? Do you want to do that? Don't you?"

"Since when did you get so excited about this lesson? I usually don't pay attention," said Ghea, not to be outdone. Putting her slumped glasses back in place, the girl let out a long sigh until she finally spoke again. "Okay, you don't want to answer, right? Don't expect to get my math cheat sheet. It's the end of the test if you forget."

"Test?" Inez blinked her eyes three times. The look on her face turned serious. "How come I don't know?"

"It's no wonder-when do you remember having assignments or tests? Never," Ghea said, rolling her eyes. "That's why I was surprised when you said you wanted to focus on your studies."

"Are you threatening me?" Inez realized that she was nothing without Ghea's help. Her best friend was indeed one of the smartest students in her class. That's why Inez never doubted Ghea and depended on her. It would be a big disaster if Ghea didn't help her during the test.

Ghea shrugged her shoulders. "You know the answer yourself."

Inez rolled her eyes in annoyance. She took a deep breath. "Okay, I'll tell you."

"That's what you've been saying!" said Ghea enthusiastically. Her smile spread so widely that her neatly arranged teeth were visible.

"I haven't tried to shoot a boy yet. I was hesitant earlier. You know what? He's a very straightforward boy, and I'll admit that he's handsome. He didn't make me talk to him at all when I took him to class. It's annoying, he's really stiff."

"So what?" Ghea continued.

"For some reason, I'm familiar with his voice. But I just met him for the first time."

Ghea nodded in understanding. "What about you?"

"How what?" Inez asked back, one eyebrow rising.

"Are you going to pursue this boy? I don't think it's cool if you end up with a stiff boy. You're a klutz."

"How dare you!" Spontaneously, Inez nudged Ghea's arm, while Ghea just chuckled softly.
