Chapter 6 She Betrayed Him

The mysterious look on Kenneth's face made Stella curious. So she said, "Tell me first, and I'll decide whether to go or not."

Kenneth sighed helplessly, "If I tell you, it won't be a surprise anymore."

Stella couldn't help laughing when she saw the bitter look on his face.

At this moment, Waylon came out of the gate. He saw a man lowering his head and whispering in Stella's ear.

Then Stella smiled happily. Her eyes were bright.

Waylon was about to get in the car, but he stopped. He turned around and stared at the man and Stella coldly.

She had never smiled like this ever since they got married.

There was only endless nagging from her about trivial matters. And every time she looked at him, she was very cautious.

Actually, he didn't like her to be like this. He felt irritable.

Waylon didn't expect that after their divorce, she would change a lot. She looked very confident and charming now.

Was it because of this man with her right now?

Waylon sneered. A woman who cheated on him was not worth his glance at all.

"Mr. Burton..." Tristan Bailey called out cautiously when he noticed that his boss didn't get in the car.

Waylon withdrew his gaze from Stella and got in the car. "Let's go back."

Tristan didn't know if he was only imagining things, but he felt that Waylon looked very angry.

As soon as Stella sat in the passenger seat, she saw out of the corner of her eye that Waylon's car had driven away.

Kenneth also started the car and drove forward. While on the way, Stella looked out of the window blankly.

When Kenneth noticed Stella's sadness, he suppressed his own emotions and asked, "Stella, what are you thinking?"

His voice made Stella come back to her senses. She smiled and said, "Nothing."

From her position, his side face looked more angular.

Waylon used to be the most handsome man at the school, but Kenneth was not inferior to him in appearance. He had broad shoulders, a slim waist, and long legs. He was comparable to famous international models.

Stella suddenly asked, "Kenneth... Why did you choose to be a model?"

Kenneth had good grades, so she thought he would choose to pursue further study.

"At first, I took part in a modeling audition casually. I didn't expect I would be chosen. From then on, I decided to continue my career in modeling." He looked at Stella from the rearview mirror and pretended to ask casually, "Don't you like models?"

Stella said gently, "No, it's not like that. For me, it doesn't matter what your profession is as long as you're promising in your own field."

Kenneth smiled and stepped on the brakes steadily. "We're here."

Stella got out of the car and saw a two-story villa that looked quite old-fashioned. Then she spotted an old man with gray hair sitting on a rattan chair, drinking tea.

The old man turned his head, looked at her, and smiled. "Stella..."

Stella was too stunned to move.

The old man sighed, "I have known everything about you. I'm sorry that you have suffered a lot."

Tears welled up in Stella's eyes. She ran toward the man, threw herself into his arms, and asked, "Grandpa, where have you been these years?"

Six years ago, the funds of the Corona Group were stolen, and the evidence pointed to her father. As a result, he was fired by the board of directors and would be sent to jail.

Unfortunately, her stepmother and stepsister ran away with the money. In the end, her father committed suicide by jumping off the building.

Her maternal grandfather, Louis Carter, said, "I've been investigating the company's stolen funds back then. I found that it had something to do with the Horizon Group. Your father was only a scapegoat."

The Horizon Group was the largest real estate company in Frimery, and the CEO was Ruben Wagner, Ayla's father.

While Stella was lost in thought, Louis took out a document and put it in her hand. "This is fifty-one percent of the shares of the Corona Group. Don't ask me how I got it, but I know you need it."

Stella pursed her lips with a solemn expression. "I will find out who framed my father and prove his innocence. I won't let you down, Grandpa."
