I went under the shower and turned it on. I cringed as the cold water hit my back. I have no water heater in my room so I don't have the luxury of bathing with warm water so I had to bath with cold water since it is the only option I have.
Few minutes later, I was done taking my bath so I came out of the toilet and opened my old wardrobe. I carried one of my worned out jeans, a tank top and undies and dropped them on the bed. Since I wasn't having any hair oil or moisturizer, I dried my hair and combed it to loose all the tangled nut. After that I applied my body lotion and began dressing.
When I was done, I sat down on my bed and it creaked as usual. I took my phone from the drawer beside my bed. It was old and faulty but I couldn't get a new one because it was a gift from my cousin Cristy on my 13th birthday.
Cristy was the only one who never ignores me. She is my best friend and also like a senior sister I never had. She was the only one who ever gets me gifts on my birthdays or any other occasion. That was before I met Scarlett.
But ever since she left for training I barely see her. She only comes once in a year and always have to rush back.
Sighing, I unlocked the phone to call Scarlett. She picked up immediately.
"Slept in again?" She asked. "Yeah, my alarm clock was faulty again and didn't went off last night." I replied. "I'll drop by at your place with your notes and assignments later in the evening. I've got the afternoon shift today." She replied. "Thanks scar, I owe you." I said so thankful to her. She was the only one after Cristy that I could trust and depend on for help. "No mention blue." She added before hanging up.
Blue was the nickname Scarlett gave me. She calls me blue because she said I was the only one she has ever saw with that kind of blue eyes. And I was the only one who has a blue eyes in my family. And sometimes I wonder if it is really blue cause it tends to a lighter blue and sometimes almost White. While sometimes it gets darker than the normal blue.
Although, I realize that it changes depending on my emotions at that moment. But it normal color is ocean blue with a few touch of sky blue in between.
Sometimes I kind of feel like a weirdo too. I mean, who has ever been born not looking any way close to anyone in their family.
Well, that would be me.

Scarlett showed up later in the evening with the notes and assignments and we sat down on my bed to have a little chat.
"So how was your shift today." I asked Making a conversation. "Today's shift was the worst. There is this annoying looking guy that always comes to the coffee shop for lunch and he always manags to make me angry any single time he steps he foot into the cafe." Scarlett replied. "I mean who comes to the cafe for lunch without knowing what exactly he wants to order. He keeps changing his opinion from a capichino, to black coffee, to milkshake and all. Aghh...and the worst of all is, he even paid off our manager to make sure that am always the one who serves him whenever he comes." Scarlett added pulling her hair in annoyance.
"Calm down scar, you need to take it easy. Maybe he likes you that's why. I mean, he only wants you to attend to him. Maybe he was only trying to get your attention and couldn't find a better way." I suggested.
"You think so?" She added. "Yeah." I replied. So try something like this the next time he comes. Smile at him while you welcome him in. Offer him a seat and instead of letting him decide what he wants, you make the decision for him." I added. "And if he agrees to go with my choice?" She asked. "Then he is totally into you." I replied.
"As much as I hate to admit it, but why would a hot and handsome looking guy be into a girl like me." Scarlett said.
"You may not see that way scar, but you are beautiful and every man would like to have a girl like you as his girlfriend." I said giving her a small smile.
"I wish you could have a better life bluey, I hate seeing you like this. Always doing what they say , trying to satisfy them and all." Scarlett said looking sad. " Well, that is the only way I could live quietly without getting scolded or lashed. And I know that one say, they would realize what they are doing and take me as one of them." I said and Scarlett nodded.
"Well, I have to prepare dinner before they come back it's 5:30 already Mom might be back anytime soon." I said. "Ok flair, I also have to go anyways. Nina would be leaving for work soon and I have to babysit her twins." Scarlett replied. "Oh, and before I forget. Here is one of the alarm clock at the coffee shop. We barely use this one so I asked Cofy our manager if I could take it and he said it was ok." Scarlett added while getting up from the bed and bringing out an alarm clock from her bag pack
"You don't have to scar, I was going to fix mine anyway." I replied.
"That creapy looking clock is not gonna work. It is dead already. Just take this one so you wouldn't sleep in again I miss seeing you in school." Scar said handing the clock to me.
I hugged her thankful for the alarm clock. "Nevermind." Scarlett replied smiling.
"Bye!" She said and in a blink of an eye, she was gone.
Scarlett's gift was teleportation and she could go anywhere she wants without having any trouble.
Her Mom died when she was 10 and her dad was arrested for fraudulent activities. So has always been alone ever since. She has to go to school and to fund for herself, she works at a coffee shop during the afternoon every weekdays and babysit her neighbors kids while her neighbor goes to work in the evening and during the weekends she works all day at the coffee shop.
I wish I could help her but my life is no better than hers.
