"Your definition of fun and that of mine are contradictory," I paused for a moment, tilting my head to the side while swirling my glass of liquor," I'm a horrible dancer, and trust me when I say I don't want to be part of that," I pointed at the bodies on the dance floor.
"Suit yourself but just in case you change your mind, you know where to find me,"
I rolled my eyes as she winked at me, turning around before she disappeared into the crowd of dancers.
""""
I glanced at my wrist watch it had already been ten minutes since Stacy disappeared into the dance floor, leaving me to look after her drink.
I moved my gaze around the dance floor in search of her frame, but I couldn't find her anywhere, just where did she go to?
I continued to search for her in the mass of bodies until my eyes landed on a man who had just stepped out of the crowd.
He was almost a head above most of the people in the club, with his broad shoulders and thick arms.
Everything about him screamed strength and power, it was not just his physical appearance, it also had something to do with his aura, I could feel it.
This man wasn't human.
That was crazy because I couldn't smell anything from him in fact he had no strange smell.
Werewolves could smell their fellow werewolves or even Lycans for that matter. Vampires on the other were identified by their pale skin and smell which wasn't pleasant to werewolves.
The lights didn't make identifying his facial features easier, and there was the fact that he was wearing a cap but I could see the tattoos starting from his neck and disappearing from view, only to appear again along his arms.
I found myself not being able to shift my gaze from him, it wasn't exactly because I found him attractive, it was more the fact that I was curious as to what he was.
He walked towards the bar a few meters away from me, then he signaled for a bartender to him with his hands.
A few words were exchanged before the bartender disappeared only to return moments later with the bartender who served me and Stacy before.
"Oh my god, that was so exhausting I need a drink,"
I quickly averted my gaze when I heard Stacy's voice beside me. My nerves fluttered in my stomach, hoping she did not notice me staring at the man.
She took one gulp of her liquor.
"So what have you been up to while I was gone hmm? She nudged me by the arm, " I see he's finally here."
"..."
"The guy I've been telling you about,"
I followed her gaze to the man, who was now preparing drink after drink for the bartenders to deliver to various tables.
He still had his cap on so I couldn't see his face but I could swear I saw a grumpy expression on his face.
"Serena" Stacy drawled while calling my name."So what do you think about him, he's hot right?"
I ignored her hoping she would just change the subject.
"You know I'm not going to stop until you give me an answer."
I sigh escaped my lips as I turned to her.
"what do you want me to say? that he's good-looking? please I've seen better" I lied, sipping water.
Stacy cleared her throat at my words.
" Weren't you just checking him out some minutes ago? he completely had your attention that I had to say something just to pull it away from him."
I almost choked on the water in my mouth and I sent a glare to Stacy, before closing my eyes to calm my mind, I had to lift the bottle of water higher whilst drinking so I could hide the blush that I'm sure had appeared on my face.
"I wasn't checking him out, the light in the club is dimmed, you might have seen things wrongly, I would agree I was looking in his direction but I wasn't looking at him." I scoffed.
"Hhmm?" Stacy hummed raising an eyebrow, clearly not believing my words, then a wicked smile graced her lips.
"I wonder what his reaction would be if I go over and tell him that you were checking him out and think he is hot."
"You wouldn't dare."
"Oh, I will honey, just watch me."
I felt my heart slamming in my chest when Stacy walked up to the counter.
I couldn't believe it, I thought she was joking, I couldn't even react to grab her hand or stop her, and before I knew it, she was already standing in front of the counter.
She waited for him to turn to her because he had his back facing her while he pulled some bottles of wine from the shelf.
Even when he turned around he seemed unbothered by her presence and proceeded in pouring the drink on some classes he had laid out on the counter.
Stacy decided to speak first, noticing that he wasn't going to give her awareness any time soon.
I couldn't get what she said because the music was loud, and I wasn't used to such a wild environment.
But I could guess what she said was hi because she had her right hand up in a wave, he only glanced at her before he moved back to doing what he was doing.
From there onwards, Stacy continued to say more and I decided to give up because there was no way I could read her lips with all the words coming out of her mouth.
She leaned against the counter, smiling as if he had said a joking but I could swear his lips had not moved for the duration of time I watched the two of them.
Then suddenly Stacy pointed in my direction, I thought he was not listening because he seemed engrossed in pouring the drinks but he then lifted his head, taking me by surprise but before I could look away his head had already turned to my direction.
Piercing Emerald color eyes locked with mine and I froze, I had to hold my breath probably in shock.
I couldn't look away, I noticed his eyes evaluating my face, then I forced myself to look away, a blush appearing across my face.
I brought a glass of liquor to my lips, watching the dancers on the dance floor.
Though my outward appearance was calm, my heart was hammering in my chest, for reasons I couldn't explain.
Just what exactly did Stacy tell him, to make him glaze in my direction?
Did she tell him, I was checking him out or thought he was good-looking? if she did I would kill her.
He wouldn't be crazy enough to believe that right? I mean it's not coming from my lips but Stacy's
I continued to watch the mass of people on the dance floor like there was something suddenly interesting about the dancers.
I turned to the side when Stacy walked back to me the evil smirk still on her lips, I glared at her, before shifting my gaze slightly behind her.
I noticed he now had his head lowered, giving his attention to what he was doing, but as if knowing someone's eyes were on him, he lifted his head yet again in my direction meeting my gaze once more.
I noticed his lips pulled up in a smirk before he averted his gaze away from me to a bartender who came to carry the drinks.
"What exactly did you tell him?" I turned to Stacy, and my face suddenly flushed out of embarrassment.
Stacy giggled in response, moving her hands over her mouth.
"Don't worry I didn't tell him anything, I just went to say hi, that's all,"
I wanted to ask how close they were that she would even think of saying hi to him, but I quickly changed my mind, that was not my business.
"But you pointed in my direction."
Stacy couldn't hold back a laugh, as she sat on the chair beside me.
"That's because I was telling him I came with a friend of mine," She said in between laughs.
"Why are you so affected, if you weren't attracted to him, you wouldn't be this curious about what I told him, in fact, the Serena that I know would just shove it off."
"Well, I wouldn't want to playfully lead someone on,"
"Trust me, you didn't lead him on."
".... Let's just go I'm already tired,"
"Fine but we go when I get back, I need to use the lady's room."
"Well don't make me wait," I said glancing at my wristwatch.
"""
What was taking her so long? I couldn't help but wonder, as I had been seating in the same spot waiting for Stacy for over ten minutes now.
I glanced over at the bar, but the man from before was gone and replaced with someone else.
Suddenly a man in an expensive-looking suit walked up to me. Everything about his attire screamed expensive, from his suit to the wristwatch and then the shoes.
I also noticed the diamond cufflinks on his wrist, which was enough to convince me that he was probably one of those rich men.
"Hello," He started, taking a seat beside me.
That was Stacy's seat, he didn't even ask for permission, or if I was comfortable with it.
I mean it's not like the seat was mine but...
I wasn't comfortable with this man, and his presence but I decide to be polite.
"It's strange to see a beautiful girl such as yourself, seating alone in a club as lively as this one."
"I'm not alone, I came with a friend, in fact, she'd be here any minute now,"
"Oh I see, then if that's the case then as a gentleman I would like to offer you my company while you wait for this friend of yours."
I wanted to tell him, his company was not needed, and that he would be doing me a favor if I just turned around and left but I didn't, he wasn't doing anything wrong, he was just being gentlemanly, I tried to convince myself but the hair on my neck stood up as if sensing danger.
I shivered slightly pulling my hands backward when he tried to touch my hand on the table.
"I'm sorry about that, it's just that you seemed tensed, so I wanted to help you relax."
Help me relax?
I tried not to glare at him, I didn't like this, I didn't like it at all.
"I'm really sorry where are my manners, I won't do that again, promise... God, I really feel like a horrible person," He touched his chest, in a demonstration."You probably want me to leave,"
Yes, I want you to leave, just disappear, I wanted to say but I didn't.
Maybe this is the humans act around each other.
"I'm sorry about that," His gaze suddenly moved to my hair."You've got something on your hair," He pointed.
I moved my hands in search of it.
"It's right over here," He moved his hands forward, sliding his hand on my hair before pulling his hands away.
My eyes widened.
"Oh god, I must have made you feel uncomfortable again," He tried to approach but I just stood up, stepping backward.
"You know what?" I started, taking a deep breath, to calm myself." It's fine, I need to go find my friend."
I turned around to walk away from him.
"Hold on,"
