April got an email saying she was eligible for the job but an interview was needed first. She quickly got ready and went to the company, excited to see Alessio again.
"I'm here for the interview" She said to the the receptionist who politely who gave her the direction of where the interview was being conducted. When she got there, she took a seat and waited patiently.
Alessio had been on the edge because for some fucked up reason, his thoughts were occupied with Jenna. It made him annoyed. To clear his head, he decided to conduct the interview himself which was quite unusual.
Halfway into the interview, he glanced at the screen which was used to monitor and observe the behavior of the candidates and his eyes caught someone familiar. The same person that had been on his mind all day. What was she doing here?
"Candidate number thirty two, send her home" Alessio instructed immediately.
"But--"
"Don't let me repeat myself" He said, his voice now dangerously low.
"Okay sir" The man nodded and scurried away to do what he had been taxed.
Alessio sighed deeply. He needed to avoid this woman at all cost and he could only hope she go on her way and leave him alone.
When Jenna got the news of her dismissal, she was devastated but on a second thought, she realized that it was Alessio's doing, else why would she be sent home for absolutely no reason. He was really trying hard to get rid of her but she was not one to give up easily.
With a devious idea on her mind, Jenna walked out of the company, to the parking lot where she searched for Alessio's car. It wasn't difficult to find it since it was the flashiest one among the rest.
She waited for a while till it was closing time then she opened the trunk of the car and snuck in.
It wasn't long till Alessio came into the parking lot, got into his car and drove off. Jenna's body trembled with tension during the ride. The man in the car was silent but the air surrounding him was intense and brooding.
When the car finally came to a halt, she froze. Thinking about her actions now, Jenna didn't know what prompted her to do it but she was already here so there was no turning back.
Her heart skipped a bit when Alessio opened the door and she waited for a reaction from him. Had he taken notice of her?
But he only stepped out of the car and closed the door behind him before walking away. Jenna breathed a sigh of relief and her body sagged against the car seat.
"I'm safe" She muttered to herself.
She waited for a few minutes then she slowly came down from the car. Her eyes widened in shock as the beauty of the mansion took her breath away.
There was a long circular driveway lined with talk trees and beautiful bushes surrounded the fountain in the middle of the driveway.
The place was serene compared to Alessio.
Jenna glanced left and right to be sure she was alone then she took a step forward. She hid behind the car when she saw two hefty men with loaded guns coming towards her.
She began to regret her actions immediately. She had acted without thinking and now there was a high possibility that if the men were to see her, they wouldn't hesitate to shoot her.
She had to leave now but her safety was compromised. When the men entered the mansion, her body dropped forward in relief but tension still coiled tightly inside her.
Jenna turned to the main gate but froze on her spot as fear logged deep in her gut and her stomach cramped. She hadn't noticed earlier that some armed men stood at the gate, guarding it and nobody entered or left without them noticing. Going through the main gate was out of the plan now.
Tears of frustration blurred her vision as she tried to think of a way out. But almost immediately, she wiped her tears. "This is not the time to cry" She chided herself.
The door to the mansion opened and Jenna's soul almost left her body but to her relief, no one came out of the door so she proceeded with her escape.
Before Jenna could take a step forward, a shout came from behind her.
"Hey!"
She froze and turned around to see three guards running towards her, they looked angry.
It was either fright or flight.
Jenna chose the later and without a second thought, she ran towards the open door in the mansion.
Jenna looked back and saw that they were running behind with their guns pointed at her.
"Stop right there!" They screamed.
But Jenna didn't listen. She just ran blindly without paying attention to where she was running to. Inside the mansion, through the couches and furnitures then up the stairs. All that was on her mind was saving her life.
Jenna ran to a hallway and came to a halt as she didn't know here else to go but when she heard their angry shouts and heavy footsteps behind her, she blindly moved to one door, opened it and without thinking, she entered the room and slammed the door behind her.
Her heart kept thundering in her chest as she leaned on the door to catch her breath.
'I'll hide here till they calm down' she told herself.
When she could breath normally and her loud gasps no longer filled the room, she looked up and scanned her surroundings until her eyes landed on him.
Jenna was speechless. She was trying to escape but she had ran into the Lion's den.
Alessio sat behind his table as he looked at Jenna with dead eyes, silence enveloping the room.
Alessio's phone vibrated and he proceeded to pick it up without averting his gaze from her.
"What is it?" He growled into the phone.
"Boss, there is a problem." Sparta reported.
"Go straight to the point" He bellowed as he kept his eyes on the intruder.
"Boss, someone broke into the estate" Sparta screamed into the phone, sounding frustrated.
Alessio smiled deviously as he eyed Jenna from top to bottom. She looked amusing with that shocked expression on her face.
"Boss are you there?" Sparta asked as he didn't get any response
"I'll handle it" Alessio said, his voice unusually calm.
"Boss?"
"I got this." He growled and ended the call before Sparta could respond.
Alessio rose from his seat before slowly walking to Jenna. He placed his index finger under her chin and lifted her face up.
"What do we have here?" He murmured amusedly.
