Chapter 2 2- I don't mind sharing

Sean's POV

"Thank you for accepting this, Sean. I owe you one. I can't trust my granddaughter to anyone else but you," Alejandro told me. I nodded my head and gave him a reserved smile. He was like a father to me. He was my beneficiary when I studied and took care of everything I needed. He has a daughter, but for some reason, he never introduced her to anyone. Not even to me, whom he trusts the most.

Now, he wants me to be his granddaughter's bodyguard and wants me to be visible. Meaning, I needed to be wherever his granddaughter Rose was. I don't have a problem being a bodyguard. However, it's just that Rose was a very reserved person, and I couldn't tell what was on her mind. "You don't need to thank me. You know, you helped me when I needed it the most." I told him, and he chuckled.

"You know that I will still do what I have done for you even if it's not you," he replied, and I know that. He had many beneficiaries. I admire him for being human, regardless of whether others think he is inhumane. Alejandro is the most-feared organizational leader in the country. He was well respected by everyone in his field, even abroad.

Having said that, I can't deny the fact that people wanted him dead. He is fair and just. He kills but does it with justice. He is not some trigger-happy leader who shoots just because he holds his gun. He always held himself responsible for everything his men did and made everyone pay if they stepped on someone unjustly.

The company that he let others handle is now handed over to his granddaughter. He wanted Rose to continue what he was doing and believed in her, and so did I. Rose is a strong woman, but she is still a woman who needs protection. He knew that many people in his company wanted it for themselves, thinking the owner had no intention of managing it.

Little did they know that Alejandro Deniro owned it, and there would be no way that they would be able to get what was his. "Rose will come over later, and I want you to prepare all your things and come with her as soon as she leaves here." He told me, and I nodded again. After I excused myself, I returned to my loft near the mansion.

Alejandro Deniro's mansion is huge. Although he wanted me to stay there, I chose to have my own house just outside his mansion. The land area was big, and the mansion was surrounded by lofts used by his workers. He made sure that everyone was comfortable and living in peace.

We are willing to die for him because of how he is a person and how he has helped and treated us. That's why I agreed to become Rose's bodyguard. I can't say no to him. I started packing my things and prepared to leave. Rose lived in the city, and it would be very difficult for me to look after her if I were to live there. So I understand why Alejandro made me go with his granddaughter.

I'm sure they will eat together, so I already ate alone too. Alejandro wanted to spend time with Rose whenever she visited him, so I gave them that time.

I walked to the mansion afterward and found Alejandro and Rose in their usual place whenever they were together. I stayed hidden and waited for the appropriate time to come in. Rose was still arguing with her grandpa, and I knew she would lose to him, as always. When I heard her agree, I decided to show up.

I greeted Alejandro again and did not look at Rose until she heard what Alejandro had to say. The old man introduced us to each other, and I took that time to feast my eyes on her beauty.

Alejandro told her about us living together. I looked at her because I wanted to know her reaction. I noticed that she tried to hide her emotions but still gave herself away, which made me smirk, and she saw that.

She creased her forehead, so I guess I made a bad impression. Well, at least she knows that I will not be easy to deal with. "Come here and have a seat, Sean." I nodded and walked to the couch in front of them as Rose followed my movement.

Self-confidence. I'm full of that when it comes to my looks and physique. I know how women drool over me, so I am not sure why I do not affect this woman. Does she have high standards for men? Her face remained stoic until I was seated.

"Sean is very smart as well. If there's something you have a hard time dealing with in the company, you can ask him for suggestions. You might come up with an agreement. Besides him, you don't need to trust anyone else there." Alejandro warned her, and she agreed immediately.

"Rose, dear, I asked your mom and dad's permission before making this decision, and they understood me. Sean will help you out at home. You can count on him. He is a jack of all trades." Alejandro said, and I wanted to laugh at him. He looked like he was selling me to his granddaughter.

"It's inappropriate for a man and a woman who are not related to each other to live under one roof," Rose replied, trying to make Alejandro change his mind.

"Not when it's Sean. Right, my boy?" He replied and then asked me with a grin.

"Sir," I answered confidently and saw Rose sigh. I'm sure she was pissed because I agreed with her grandfather.

"Make sure you prevent yourself from going overboard. Know your job description and never give me trouble." She said this, looking at me with her almond-shaped eyes. Her green orbs, which gave me the "mind of your own business" look, were on me intently.

I looked at her too, as if challenging her. I didn't respond to what she said; instead, I looked at Alejandro. "You know me, sir. I always do things my way," I told him.

"Of course, that's why I asked you. Rose will learn many things from you," Alejandro replied. "Rose, dear. Make sure to listen to Sean, especially when you are in danger." He told Rose. "I know that you grew up doing things as you pleased, and I am proud that you are very responsible. But now that you're in business, you need people who can guide and teach you. Your dad, even your Aunt Seily and Uncle Aldrich, can teach you a lot," he added.

Rose's face dimmed and hardened as she glared at me. I could tell that she didn't like the idea of following me. "Alright, you two should leave now," Alejandro said after, then looked at me.

"I am entrusting my precious granddaughter to you. I expect you to take care of her." He told me.

"Yes, Sir. I assure you," I replied, and then looked at Rose, whose eyes were rolling at me now. I chuckled internally.

"Call me if anything happens," Alejandro added, and I nodded as an answer.

The company that Rose will manage is located in the city. It was a four-hour drive from the mansion, and it would surely be very tiring if we both came from here every day. So Alejandro decided to get a house for us. Well, for Rose at first. However, he already informed me about the job, and I was with him when he got the house, so it was really for both of us.

"I got to go now, Grandpa." She bid goodbye and kissed Alejandro on the cheek.

"Take care, dear." He replied as he kissed her forehead. "Drive safely, Sean." He added, looking at me.

"As always, sir. You should take care of yourself here as well, and don't hesitate to call me, too, if you need anything," I replied, and he smiled at me.

"Go now," he said, as I walked to the door. I felt Rose following, and when I arrived in front of her car, I stopped and looked at her.

"What?" she asked.

"Keys," I said. I was sure she would object, so I added, "Your grandpa told me to DRIVE SAFELY." Emphasizing the last two words.

She sighed, and I knew I had won. She handed me her key, and I opened the passenger seat for her. She looked at me, wondering why I made her sit there.

"Shouldn't I be sitting in the back?" She asked, raising her brow.

"I am your bodyguard, not your driver." I replied, "You're not that shallow who thinks highly of yourself, right? Whenever your grandpa and I are together, he always sits here." I added, which earned me a glare from her before she got in. I closed the door, and I couldn't help a smile slip on my lips. I won again, so it's 2 to 0. Handing me her car keys was the first.

The drive was long, but I didn't feel tired at all. I looked at Rose beside me from time to time so that I would know if she ever wanted us to stop for a break or if she needed to go to the restroom. We never talked, and I respected that. She didn't want any of this, so she might still be annoyed, but she couldn't get mad at her grandfather. I know how much she loves Alejandro.

We reached the house, and she looked at me when I opened the door for her. "How the hell did you know the passcode?" she asked irritably.

"Alejandro and I chose this house together," I told her.

"So you know that you will live with me?"

"Your grandfather talked to me about it already before he told you about the company. He made sure everything was ready when you agreed." I replied and walked to my room. "I believe you didn't do anything to my room, right?'' I asked.

"Oh, you mean the room that Grandpa told me to keep vacant but was comfortable to sleep in?" she asked, and I nodded. "Of course, I am using it now," she added, so I faced her again. I specifically chose that room and asked Alejandro if I could use it, and he agreed. Rose surely didn't do what she was told.

"I didn't know you wanted to sleep with me," I told her, and her eyes widened.

"Don't tell me that---" she said, but I stopped her as I walked to the room.

"Yes, I will still sleep here. I don't mind sharing the bed with you." I said it casually.

"What?!" she exclaimed, and I smiled internally. She walked past me and headed directly to the room. She's like a child. I followed her and found the door locked. Did she forget that I chose this room and Alejandro and I chose this house together?

I took out my keys and inserted my spare key into the keyhole. Her eyes widened when she saw me get in, and she jumped out of bed when I lay down after putting down my bag. "Hmm, it smells good," I said as I placed my arms at the back of my head and used it as a pillow. I looked at her. And if her looks could kill me, I would have been dead already. She's absolutely gorgeous, but she looks like a tigress at times. I just smirked at her, and she walked out of the room, stomping her feet.

'It's 3-0, Rose,' I whispered.
