Chapter 5 Escape Into A Club

Nyla's POV:

My mother's death left me with an overwhelming sense of loss and loneliness. She was my only family, and now she was gone forever. The reality of her death hit me like a ton of bricks, and I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of despair.

The hospital refused to handle the body of a rogue.

Carrying my mother's lifeless body, I walked for what felt like an eternity, until I stumbled upon a quiet and secluded place where I could lay her to rest.

I made the decision to bury her there.

The land was adorned with beautiful flowers that I knew she would have loved.

After laying my mother to rest, I felt a hollow emptiness in my heart, but no more tears would come. Perhaps I had already cried all that I could.

I felt as if my life had become meaningless.

I was lost and directionless, not knowing how to move forward. Despite my mother's last words urging me to carry on, I felt utterly without purpose or direction. The vastness of the world seemed to offer no place for me to belong.

I subsisted on wild berries to keep myself alive.

I wandered aimlessly through the wilderness, consumed by my grief and unable to keep track of the days or where I was going.

As if in a dream, I thought I heard someone calling out to me.

"Nyla Higgins!"

I turned around in a daze and noticed three male werewolves calling my name.

I recognized them as the werewolves from the Black Moon Pack.

Now that I had been expelled by the pack, I expected the werewolves to ignore me if we met in the wild. Yet, they immediately surrounded me, and I sensed that something was amiss. I took a step back cautiously.

The werewolf leading the team wore a sly grin as he spoke in a flippant tone. "I was wondering who it was I saw. So it's the rogue dumped by Killian. What a pitiful little thing you are."

Another werewolf chimed in with a lecherous grin, "Yeah, let us have some fun with you. I'm curious to know how it feels to sleep with Killian's woman."

As they closed in on me, memories of that terrible night flooded my mind. "Get out of my way!" I screamed frantically. "Get out of my way!"

My voice had never been so sharp before, catching them off guard. They seemed surprised by my sudden outburst and paused for a few seconds. Seizing the opportunity, I quickly escaped their encirclement and fled desperately.

Run!

Filled with anxiety and fear, I hurriedly ran forward without glancing back, my heart racing in my chest.

I sprinted aimlessly, not paying attention to the direction I was going in. Eventually, I stumbled into a club that was filled with werewolves. The dim lighting made me feel disoriented and the loud music pounded in my ears.

I strained to see through the dimly lit club and pushed my way through the throngs of people. The howls of the werewolves pursuing me echoed loudly in my ears.

I hoped for someone to come to my aid, but I knew it was unlikely in this place. I doubted anyone would want to risk getting in trouble to help a random female rogue like me.

I continued to run, but soon realized that I was trapped with no escape.

"Oh no! There's no way out; it's a dead end!" I muttered anxiously.

I was startled, but before I could turn back, the three werewolves caught up with me.

I was forcefully pushed by the werewolf in front, causing my shoulder to collide with the wall, resulting in a throbbing ache.

"Damn it! How dare you run from us!" he roared at me fiercely. "I'll rip you to shreds here today!"

In the next instant, they surrounded me more closely and began to tear off my clothes.

"What are you doing? No! Help!" I fought back with all my strength and screamed for assistance, hoping that someone would hear me and come to my rescue.

"Please, is there anyone who can help me? Anyone?" I cried.

As I frantically tried to fight off the werewolves, my hand brushed against something cold and round.

It was a beer bottle!

Acting instinctively, I grabbed the object and smashed it onto the ground without any hesitation.

As the bottle shattered on the ground, sharp fragments flew out and cut my palm. I fought the pain and waved a broken piece of glass in their direction. The werewolves took a step back, but they didn't take their eyes off me.

I realized that waving the broken bottle was not enough to intimidate them. I felt despair and hopelessness creeping in. I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to die. The thought of it made me slowly press the sharp fragment in my hand against my throat.

Mom, I will see you soon! I thought in my heart.

Just as I had closed my eyes, the werewolf in front stopped abruptly, and the other two standing behind began to retreat.

My senses were heightened as I looked up to see a pack of werewolves coming to my side. Standing at the forefront was a she-wolf, and a tall, young male werewolf was by her side. The two shared some resemblance.

The she-wolf's voice was elegant but had an underlying tone of authority. "You are in the territory of the rogues, the Crescent Club. Please stop causing trouble and leave immediately," she said slowly.

The Black Moon Pack's werewolves appeared somewhat intimidated by her. The one leading them spat with contempt as he said, "How dare you defy the Black Moon Pack? I will make sure our Alpha knows about this when I return!"

The werewolf in front glared at her, but after a moment of hesitation, he signaled to his companions to retreat.

I felt a wave of relief wash over me as the danger had passed. I let out a deep sigh and collapsed onto the ground, completely exhausted from the ordeal.

A set of hands that were firm and strong caught me to lift me from the ground.

However, I was too exhausted to identify the person who caught me. Suddenly, I felt lightheaded and lost consciousness.
