Chapter 5 Accident ii

Samantha's hands quivered as she indicated towards the door where Ella was rolled in. " She's still been operated on".

" Did you run all the here?". He heard a voice say from the other side of the hall. He veered around and finally noticed his parents. They stared wide-eyed at him.

' I thought he didn't care about her anymore. Sam thought.

" No. Of course not". He refuted.

" Where are the kids?".

" We dropped them with Nanny Margaret before coming here. They don't know what is happening".

" What transpired Sam". He inquired.

Samantha trembled as she recollected what transpired early. " Well ...

A few hours before....

On the outskirts of the city. A black Audi was parked next to a deserted factory.

" Make sure this is done well". A man in a black tuxedo said to the middle-aged man in front of him.

" Of course. I assure you. A smug smile escaped his lips.

" I will trust you. Here is the plate number of the car as well as her location. The master orders that she should not be extremely injured but enough for her to be hospitalized for two days". The man in the tux extended an envelope.

The middle-aged man collected the envelope.

" I will leave it to you. Don't disappoint the master or else..". He entered the car leaving his words hanging and speed off.

While in the central mall

" Slow down Sam. I can't keep up with you". Ella grumbled, dragging her tired legs behind the enthusiastic Samantha. They have been shopping for hours and have bags hanging off their hands.

" Come on Ella. We've been here for only five hours. There's still so much to buy". Sam whine as she ceased walking.

" My feet are killing me and my hands are cramped. Let's just rest for a while and have lunch. Please". Ella argued aggrieved.

" Okay. Let's have lunch at the restaurant across the road. It serves luscious steaks". Samantha said as she pulled Ella towards the exit of the mall.

' thank goodness'. Ella thought.

As they were about to Walk out of the mall. Samantha sighted a beautifully displayed red grown. It was embedded with sparkling stones. She was tempted and yearned for it. She unexpectedly quit walking.

" What is it?". Ella raised a question when she noticed Samantha stopped walking.

She groans inwardly ' No additional shopping please '

" Oh my gosh. I want that gown at all costs ". Sam squealed, as she referred towards the gown insight, and her eyes glistened.

"Oh no. We are heading to dine Sam. And you're a designer for crying out loud, design your gown. Now let's go". Ella said sternly.

" But I want that one, Pretty please." She sulked. "You go along and reserve a table and I will join you after I get the gown". Sam smirked and ran to the displayed gown without waiting for a response from Ella.

" Hey".Ella chuckled and strolled out of the mall. She headed toward the road humming a tune. She was wandering on the sidewalk and was about to cross when she heard her name. She swiveled and saw Samantha waving a bag. Her face was radiated with smiles.

" I got the dress". She heard Samantha exclaim loudly.

Samantha began walking hastily toward Ella when she caught a glimpse of the black van packed close to the sidewalk and abruptly drove fast towards Ella. Her heartbeat hastened.

" Ella!!!. Lookout". She cried out as she ran in panic towards Ella.

Ella twirled around at the sound of an engine revving up. Then unexpectedly she felt intense pains all over and her body drifted in the air before slamming to the ground. She heard cries and the sound of cars halting. Her eyes stared at the bright skies and she felt her body going numb. Her sight blackened as she lost consciousness.

" Ella!!!". Samantha sobbed and ran ahead tossing her bags. She got to where Ella was and hoisted her up. The van quickly turned and drove away hastily.

" Call the ambulance please". Sam shouted. " Ella wake you please, I am begging you." Tears streamed down her face as she shook Ella's bloodstained face.

The present...

" The ambulance came and she was taken here. It's all my fault, I should have tugged her along with me or better still not have gone for the dress. I am so sorry". Samantha wailed.

Alexander tugged his sister into his embrace. " It's not your fault. I am delighted that you are fine, I will take care of this". He mumbled.

The operating area unlocked and a doctor strolled out. " Are you the patient parents ?". He asked as he tucked his hands into his surgery cloak.

" I am her husband. How is she?". Alex commanded in a cold voice as he glared at the short doctor.

The doctor swallowed as he felt frightened by the seething beast in front of him. ' I wasn't the one who hit her ' he thought.

" She's out of trouble now. She sustained some wounds on her body and her left arm is dislocated. She had a mild concussion. We will know if there are additional problems after she becomes conscious".

" When will she wake up?". Hannah consulted.

" Hmmm within twenty-four hours or more. We just have to wait and watch over her. she's been altered to room twenty-five on this floor. One more thing, she appeared lanky like she had not been eating adequately. Pardon me". The doctor said and walked promptly away towards the other side of the waiting room.

" Thank God. She's safe". Hannah stroked her chest in relief.

" She will be fine. She's a fighter". Jacob consoled her.

" Let's go and see her". Samantha declared.

" We will but you need to get changed. You look, horrible darling". Jacob said.

" Okay dad. I will be back soon". Samantha said as she sauntered away.

" This is your fault. You have been committing that girl through a lot these past months. Why are you here?. I reckon you don't care about her anymore. You wouldn't mind even if she died right?". Hannah said in hostility as she pointed at Alex.
