Chapter 4 4

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. My heart was racing with fear and anxiety as I stood in front of the mirror, staring at the beautiful blue gown and diamond necklace that the Alpha had sent me. He had invited me and my parents to the royal palace to talk to them about my future. But I knew that it was more than that. He wanted to claim me as his mate, and I couldn't let that happen.

I glanced at my parents, who were chatting excitedly about the upcoming event. They didn't know about my connection with the Alpha, and I didn't want to tell them. They thought that we were going to the palace as guests, but I knew that it was a trap.

As we got into the car, I couldn't help but feel like I was walking into a lion's den. The Alpha was powerful, and I had seen him take down his enemies without mercy. I didn't know how to protect myself or my family, but I had to try.

As we arrived at the palace, I felt a knot form in my stomach. The Alpha was waiting for us, and I knew that I had to put on a brave face. We were ushered into the grand ballroom, and my eyes scanned the room, looking for any signs of danger. As the Alpha approached us, I couldn't help but feel intimidated by his powerful aura. He walked with a grace and confidence that commanded attention, and his piercing blue eyes seemed to stare straight into my soul. He didn't say much, but his eyes spoke volumes.

I could feel his eyes following me as we moved through the room, and it was as if he could read my thoughts. It was unnerving, to say the least, and I tried to keep my distance.

"Welcome to my palace," the Alpha said, his voice smooth and low. "I'm so glad you could join us tonight."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty," my father replied, extending his hand for a handshake. "We appreciate you inviting us here today."

"Of course," the Alpha said, a small smile playing on his lips. "I have something important to discuss with you, but first, let's eat."

The Alpha turned to me and handed me a bouquet of roses. "You look beautiful, Madeliene," he said, his voice sending shivers down my spine.

I forced a smile and thanked him, trying to hide my fear.

As my parents and I entered the dining hall, I could feel my heart racing. I knew that this meeting with the Alpha Vlad was going to be important, but I didn't expect to feel so nervous.

The Alpha was already seated at the head of the table, his powerful aura filling the room. His piercing blue eyes watched us intently as we approached, and I could see the respect and fear in my parents' eyes.

"Welcome," the Alpha said, his voice low and commanding. "Please, have a seat."

My parents and I sat down across from the Alpha, and I could feel the tension in the air. The Alpha was quiet for a moment, and I could sense that he was gathering his thoughts.

"I have asked you here today for an important discussion," the Alpha finally said. "I have a proposal to make."

My parents looked at the Alpha with confusion, but I knew exactly what he was going to say. He was going to tell them about me being his mate.

Before the Alpha could continue, I spoke up. "Excuse me, Alpha Vlad, may I request a dance with you?"

The Alpha looked at me with surprise, but I could see the amusement in his eyes. "Of course," he said, standing up from the table.

As he led me to the dance floor, I could feel his powerful aura surrounding me. His strong arms wrapped around my waist, and I could feel his warm breath on my neck.

"I can sense that you are nervous," the Alpha said, his voice low and comforting.

"I am," I admitted.

"Alpha," I said, my voice trembling. "I need to talk to you."

He looked down at me, a smirk playing at his lips. "Of course, little one. What's on your mind?"

I took a deep breath, gathering my courage. "I don't want to be with you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I need you to stay away from me."

His expression changed, his eyes narrowing as he leaned in closer to me. "Is that so?" he asked, his voice dangerously low.

"Yes," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "I don't feel anything for you, and I don't want any part of your world."

He leaned even closer, his eyes locking onto mine. "You don't know what you're saying, little one" As he spoke, I felt a cold shiver run down my spine. This was not what I wanted, and I didn't belong to anyone. My mind was racing, trying to find a way out of this situation. But his grip on my waist was tight, and I couldn't move.

Suddenly, his lips were on mine, and I felt a surge of heat. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before. His tongue traced the outline of my lips, and I found myself responding, my body betraying me.

I tried to pull away, but he was too strong. His lips crashed against mine again, and I felt his hand move to the back of my neck, holding me in place. I could feel his breath on my face, hot and heavy.

"You cannot run away from me, mate," he growled again, his eyes glowing with intensity.

I tried to speak, to protest, but his kiss was overwhelming. My mind went blank, and all I could feel was the heat of his body against mine. It was like he had cast a spell on me, and I couldn't resist him.

As he pulled away, I gasped for air, my heart pounding in my chest. He leaned in close to my ear, his voice a low growl.

"You belong to me now," he whispered, and I felt a chill run down my spine. I didn't know what to do. I didn't want this, but I couldn't resist him. His hold on me was too strong, and his presence too overwhelming. All I could do was stand there, trapped, as he held me in his arms. I looked up at him, my eyes wide with fear and confusion. I wanted to run, to get away from him, but I knew it was too late. He had marked me as his own, and there was no going back.

He stroked my cheek with his thumb, his gaze softening. "Don't be afraid, little one," he said. "I'll take care of you."

I wanted to believe him, but I knew better. I had heard the stories of how possessive and controlling Alphas could be, and I didn't want to be a part of that world. But as he looked at me with those intense eyes, I couldn't deny the pull he had over me.

He leaned in to kiss me again, but this time I turned my head away. "Please, stop," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

He looked at me, his expression unreadable. "Do you truly want me to stop?" he asked, his voice low and dangerous.

I nodded, feeling tears welling up in my eyes. I didn't want this, but I didn't know how to get away from him.

He sighed, his grip on me loosening. "Very well," he said, stepping back. "But know this, little one. You cannot escape me. I will always find you."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me standing there alone on the dance floor, my heart racing and my mind in turmoil. I didn't know what the future held, but I knew that I had to find a way to escape his grasp, or risk losing myself completely to him.
