Chapter 3

Lunch time

CAFETERIA

Regina's pov

"Gosh classes felt so boring ,Jessy whined ,as we ate lunch at the cafeteria ,a pack of burger , French fries and soda but I preferred apple juice .

"It wasn't that bad for me ,I also made a new friend , " Jenny said justifying how her classes went .

"Mine wasn't that bad too ,but there wasn't anything fun to learn other than theories of what I already know ," I say to them , grabbing my apple juice.

"Wait Jenny, did you say you made a friend?I questioned reminiscing over what she said .

Jennifer is the shy type ,I have never seen her with any other person apart from her family and me ,it surprised me hearing she made a new friend.

"Yeah I did ,his name is Frank ," she said, dipping a french fry into her mouth .

I stared at Jessy , and we both giggled .

"Oh no you don't ,I just met him today and besides ,I said friend ,"she quickly defended herself knowing the reason behind our giggles.

"Oh sis ,I have been there ,it's either you guys become FWB or a couple, that's how it's done girl ,Jessy says earning a glare from Jenny .

"What's FWB ? Jenny turns to ask me .

"Friends with benefits ,I tell her and her brows knit into a deep frown .

"Jessy ,she growls like a wolf .

"What ? It's the truth babe,all I can say is be careful ,Jessy says with a shrug .

"You disgust me Jessy , Jenny spat and I could feel the tension between them grow .

"I have a crush ! I exclaimed to their hearing, gaining their attention . Gasps escape from their mouths .

"No way , Gina you have a crush , Jessy says her mouth wide open.

"No freaking way ,you have never had one before, what's his name , Jenny asks curiously.

"Oh his name ...I suddenly grew nervous ,I did have a crush but I couldn't tell them who it was ,they might freak out ,"his name is carrrrrrl....

"Carlie ,Jessy completes and I immediately nod.

"Girl you are lying ,she argues .

"Yeah Jessy is right ,boys aren't named Carlie it's a girl's name , unless you are gay ,she suggests making my eyeball grow wide .

We all stared at each other and gagged at the same time.

"Ewwwwwwww !

"No way Jenny,how could you even think that ," I ask and she shrugs.

I sigh inwardly ,they totally forgot about their bickering and we talked for the rest of the lunch before going our separate ways .

The day ran by so fast for me , I finished all my classes and was ready to go home,it was just 3pm , Jenny and Jessy still had classes till 4:30pm,I was the only one done for the day.

Just as dad had said , Desmond came on time to pick me up.I didn't recognize him when he drove in with a new sports car the same as dad's but black in color .

"Shall we pumpkin ,he gestures towards the car ,"I grinned like a child and followed him .

Instead of taking me home ,we stopped at a restaurant to get some ice cream. He suggested it as a treat for missing my birthday party .

"What would you like ," the happy-going waitress asked me , and I told her my favorite ice cream.

"Strawberry cones ,some extra cream and chocolate chips ," I tell her and focus my gaze on Desmond who is absentmindedly typing on his phone .

"Sir ,the waitress called but he didn't pay attention to her ,so I signaled her to stop.I picked up the menu and saw a few of his favorites listed.I ticked them with my pen and gave it to her ,she smiled before leaving .

"Desmond ,I called and his attention was immediately taken away from the phone which was strange to me. He didn't answer the lady who called more than twice ,but just hearing me faintly call his name ,his head snapped towards me.

"You were so engrossed in your phone ,I just wanted you to know I made an order for you ," I said and his amazing lips curved into a smile .

"Thank you ,his angelic voice rings into my ear , goodness gracious .

"You seem busy ,hope I am not intruding ," I said to him, barely looking at him ,I just couldn't ,I don't know what would happen if I did .

"Of course not ,I was just texting my assistant ,do you want something ? He asks .

"No, I am fine ," I replied nervously.

"You look really beautiful today ," he says and I began to struggle with my burning cheek.I didn't want to blush but it was impossible.I felt ashamed knowing fully well that my face is now crimson red.

"Th...thank...y..you ,I stuttered feeling really stupid .

Afraid to look at his face and see disappointment ,I hang my head low playing with the table cloth.

"Look at me, pumpkin ," I suddenly heard him say .

I looked up to see him leaning close "you are breathtaking when you blush ,did anyone ever tell you that ?,he asks

I shook my head negatively as my cheek flushed even more ,I just needed somewhere to hide ,or something soothing to take in and reduce my tension,just in time the waitress returned with our order and I breathed a sigh of relief , digging into my ice cream almost immediately .

"Wow how did you know what to order ,these are all my favorites ," he says amused while I give myself a thumbs up in my head .

"I just randomly picked ,I lied, placing a chip in my mouth.

"Thank you again ," he says before grabbing his Expresso waxed with cream, a half sliced lemon cheesecake, and waffles .

I lost focus on my ice cream and started staring at the way he munched neatly on his cake ,his Adam's apple moving in a slow rhythm ,my legs were slightly trembling ,desire washing through me .

*Why is he so perfect?I thought to myself, still drooling over him .

He took another bite on his cake , and a small piece was stuck to his lips. My hands itched to get it off ,but I couldn't do that so I just stared at the piece and enjoyed his lips while I was dying to touch it .

Noticing the piece on his lip ,he took his lips into his mouth and sucked on it to get it off ,right there I knew I had enough .

"Excuse me ," I tell him and quickly run off to the toilet .

I needed some time to think ,what the hell was wrong with me ,my legs were still trembling and it was getting visible ,I washed my face in the basin and took a seat at the waiting room to relax myself .

I almost lost it back there ,I felt like grabbing his shirt and smacking my lips on his , kissing him like my life depended on it . But this was wrong , everything about it was wrong . This man I am dreaming about took care of me when I was three. Having such feelings was so wrong it made a tear slip out of my eyes. Why did my life turn out this way ,why couldn't I get a normal crush on boys my age .Why him of all people ?

I walked back into the toilet and washed my face for the second time , before returning to the table , Desmond looked worried seeing me ,he stood up immediately.

"What is it Gina ,are you alright ,are you having a brain freeze because of the ice cream ,I will take you home ," he said but I shook my head .

"I am fine Desmond ,I felt really pressured so I left in a hurry ,I lied and thankfully he bought it .

"Let's go ,you got me really worried ," he says as we both walk out of the building.

"I love you Desmond , and I want to be with you for the rest of my life ," I said to him and he looked really shocked.

"Why would you say that , never say such ever again or I will tell your father?"he replied and I felt my heart sink into my stomach.

"Regina ,earth to Regina ,I snapped out of my trance and realized I was just imagining things ,we were now standing close to his car.

"Oh, I'm sorry , were you saying something ,"I asked.

"Yeah but then you totally zoned out , what's wrong ,is there something you want to tell me ,"he asks but I shake my head negatively .

"No, I am fine ,I was just thinking of school work ,"I lied again ,I couldn't count how many times I lied in just one day .

"Let's get you home then ," he says and opens the door for me to get in ,we drive out minutes later back on the road.
