Chapter 4 You're Pregnant

When Lina returned to the castle, she stood at the front door and looked at the house, which was full of her childhood memories.

The castle contained some of her best memories and some of her worst.

The small courtyard where Lina and Dill lived located in the back of the main castle building. To reach the small courtyard, they must pass by the main building where Celta and the others live.

"Mom! I don't want it!" The girl's voice of discontent came from inside the house.

Lina stopped and looked in through the window in the direction the sound was coming from.

A scene inside stung the eyes.

Her stepfather Brugger and mom were trying desperately to calm the girl sitting on the couch.

Like Brugger, the girl had silver hair, but her features were not inherited from Celta and she looked not very pretty.

"Oh no, baby, be good, listen to mommy and be quiet." Celta gently took the girl's hand, "I didn't want to bring her back, and you know, we can't let you marry someone who is sick and dying, but our company, we need the Bryan family's help."

"Yes, my Sally, your mom and I, had done it all for you and for our family. You need to know that Mom and Dad will always only love you, and Lina isn't worth the emotional impact we'll have for her."

What a loving family!

Lina's hand was clenched in a fist, even she knew that her mother did not love her. But as the same mother's child, the one named Sally, could be treated like a treasure by her, while she, herself, could only be used for profits.

Lina felt like a knife had been thrust into her chest, and she wanted to shout, but she couldn't even make a sound, like a helpless mute .

Lina couldn't bear and went back to the small courtyard where they lived.

"Daddy, I'm home." Lina said to Dill.

"Lina, did Angus give you a hard time?" Dill looked at Lina and asked worriedly.

Lina poured a cup of tea for Dill, "Dad, don't worry. Angus is very nice. He's a gentleman."

Dill, however, did not speak, but looked at Lina heartily.

"Sir, miss, this is the dinner Mrs. Celta prepared for you." The maid came in with bread and milk as her eyes were hostile.

The maid heaved the basket on the table very unfriendly, glared at them, and then left with exaggerated movements.

Looking at the bread on the table, hmm, such a big castle, their dinner which was her mother prepared seemed not as good as the servants.

"Dad, don't feel bad, trust me, I won't let this go on for long." Lina said as she picked up a slice of bread and took a bite.

But before she could swallow it, her stomach churned and she immediately ran towards the door and vomited into the trash can outside.

It was hard to get comfortable enough to look back and see Dill staring at her with a frown.

"Lina, come here." Dill's tone was serious.

Lina walked over and knelt down in front of him, "Daddy, what's wrong?"

Dill looked at Lina's somewhat pale face and was silent for a moment before speaking slowly, "The money from the hospital last time wasn't from Celta, right?"

Lina's eyes subconsciously ducked, not daring to look Dill in the eye.

"I asked her and she said she didn't." Dill tried again, in fact, at the hospital, he already suspected, Celta hated him and can not wait for him to go to God, and how can she pay to help him?

"I'm sorry--" Lina sat down somewhat helplessly and rested her head on Dill's knee.

"So, now you're going to tell me where the money came from." Dill helped her stand up and let her sit next to him.

Remembering what happened that night, Lina's face became even more ugly, and she simply couldn't talk about it.

"Are you pregnant?"

The two were silent for a long long time, and Dill spoke up to break the quiet atmosphere.

It was as if Lina had been half struck by lightning, and her eyes were widened with disbelief as she looked at Dill.

Pregnant? She had a little baby in her belly?

Dill looked at Lina's helpless look at the moment and stroked her cheek heartily.

Since his divorce from Celta, Lina has endured so much. She was so young but she had to help organize and do the housework and take care of her sister, so that he can work outside without fear, even if he can only have a very small income.

The amount of money for medical expenses was not a small amount that Lina can fix alone, and, her reaction just now showed that it was indeed not from Celta.

Dill truly loved Celta, after all, he had also conceived two daughters with her. Dill knew all too well the symptoms of pregnancy, and Lina's reaction during this time was exactly the same as Celta's at that time.

"Lina?" Dill looked at Lina, who was dazed, and called out softly.

"Daddy!" Lina's eyes were widened in horror, and her hands took hold of Dill's hand and stroked it heartily.

Looking at her daughter's worried face, Dill's eyes were red.

After all those sufferings since he divorced with Celta, he never shed a tear even when Nicole died.

But at that moment, tears were streaming down his face.

He hated the way he couldn't do anything. He hated the fact that he never gave his two daughters a good life. He hated to be pinned to the bottom by Celta and couldn't even stand up.

All of this lay in that he was incapable.

He hated Celta, but more than that, he hated himself for not even being able to protect his own daughter.

"Daddy, don't do this." Lina looked at Dill like this, and tears fell down with her eyes.

"Lina, you have to go to the hospital first for a checkup tomorrow. We'll make sure first and then make other arrangements. Don't be afraid, no matter what the result is, dad will be with you." Dill said to Lina.

Lina nodded, yet, if she did get pregnant, what would she do?
