Chapter 3 Broken promises

Aria pov

"Aria!" Bryant shouted as he knocked at the door. I continue to ignore him as i lay down on the bed.

I locked myself in Bryant room. It been three days now. And it was now that Bryant was coming to see me. The day was almost over and people at the pack house was trying to sleep but here he was making so much noises. His pleading wasn't going to make me open the door even if the room belongs to him. The man on the other side of the door was not the Bryant i know. The Bryant i know would come and get me Immediately, he wouldn't wait this long to apologize for his mistake.

I guess he must have been with her, that's why he didn't come to me. It was all because of her. How long have he kept her a secret? All this while I was in his arms hoping to have a proper ceremony, for things to be official between us. I must have sounded so much like a fool to him when I suggested that, his wolf must have mock me and rejected me.

"Aria please open up, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you the truth."

That was the only thing he had been apologizing for since he got here. He didn't apologize for cheating on me. He didn't say that he would never see her again. He wasn't sorry that he had found his mate and kept her a secret from me. Atleast now I understood why he wanted me to go back to my pack in the pretences of my Dad wanting me back home. I felt angry and sad.

Bryant curse under his breath and broke down his door. I was with the key, I made sure to collect all the spare keys to his room, so that he wouldn't be able to come in whenever he gets back from the dirty places he was coming from.

As I watch how easy it was for him to break through his room door. I regretted the fact that I didn't lock him outside his house instead. Let him break every door and tear down the whole building if he had to. I would have destroyed his things myself out of rage but a part of me was still desperately hoping that the Bryant I know would come back to me.

"Why didn't you tell me you found your mate." I said not looking at him. I couldn't meet his eyes, I thought I would be okay whenever I met him again but I was not. I could feel tears coming to my eyes once again. Why was he here? Couldn't he at least respected the fact that I didn't want to see him.

"I didn't want to hurt you." He said softly as he approach me with little step.

"If you touch me you are dead." I could see him reaching out to me from the side of my eyes, my threat was empty we both knew that. Still I'm trying really hard not to love him right now. Him wiping away my tears with his hands while he look at me like that wasn't helping. I want to hate him but why can't I? Why was Bryant making things so difficult for me.

"I'm sorry for all of this Aria. I'm sorry." He place my head in his chest and I gave into him. I didn't push him away or punch him hard in the face like I told myself I would if I saw his annoying face again.

"How long have you know her. Just tell me the truth Bryant!" I cried hard in his chest all my defence let down. I didn't want to appear weak, crying in front of him. But my heart wasn't listening to me. It kept breaking.

"It..." His words were heavy. He didn't know how to say it. "It been..." His voice was lace with regret. "I'm sorry it been over a year now."

"What?!" I remove my face from his chest in shock. He had been lying to me for a year.

"At first I ignored the mate bond, I pretended like there was nothing between me and Jenny" there was so much affection in his voice as he called her name. He had never called my name like that before. "I really tried to ignored it. But it was like no matter what I did I always found myself going back to her, worrying about her if she was okay. I couldn't stop myself from thinking so much about her. My wolf likes her and he really wants her. It's not something I can control Aria."

Gazing directly to his eyes "this wasn't what you promise me." We both made a promise after we started dating that we would break our matebond regardless of how painful it was. Bryant said to me that he didn't care if his pack accepted me or not, I was the only one he care for, so he was going to reject his mate. "Remember we both promise that who ever found their mate first would reject he or her."

"Aria it is not that simple." He cast his head down.

"I don't understand why isn't simple. You promise me Bryant, own up to your word."

"Didn't you hear me? I can't control it, my wolf wants her, I can't reject her!"

"Your wolf wants her? or is it that you are the one who wants her." The truth was on his face, I was right.

Laughing and crying at the same time I looked at Bryant as he stares at me. "I can't believe it. I must have been so stupid. How could I have believe you when you said that you would reject your mate for me. How could I have thought that I meant anything to you."

"Aria, you are special to me."

"Don't you dare touch me!" I shouted out loud to him as he tried hugging me again. I don't need him or his pity. "It is either you leave or I leave." I turned my face away from him.

"I will leave." He got up from the bed and walk towards the door but stop. "I will be back tomorrow." With that he left.

I cried harder when he wasn't here to hold me or comfort me with lies of how much he cared for me. My tears couldn't stop as I regretted the fact that I chase him away. Now he was probably going to spend the night with her. At her place.

"I want my Bryant back."
