Chapter 6 Big Time Jerks

The summer holidays were over and it was back to school time for school. "Should I just forfeit this and just run away. It is not like they will stop Kira's treatment while it is still in process. I will just run away to somewhere very far away and stay completely hidden. After all, they can come up with a believable excuse for the media."

Falls on the bed and groans,"High school life really just isn't for me. I can not simply do this" looks at the uniform laying next to her on the bed,"and how do they expect me to wear this clown shit. Fuck!! I should have thought seriously about this."

Hears a knock on the room door,"come in." "Ma'am Lilimar, Avery is downstairs waiting for you ",the maid said. "Okay. Tell her I will be down in a few seconds ",Kim instructed and the maid left.

"What kind of a best friend hears about her bestie being a victim to an accident, and does not even care to check up on her. And of a sudden, it is back to school time and she is here." thinks for a second," Not to mention her loving boyfriend also doing the same thing. Wow, the type of friends Kira keeps are just big time jerks".

Kim was on her way down the stairs,when she noticed Avery waiting for her. "So this is the Avery DeVille. Come to think of it, Chanel never really showed me pictures of any of them. Top notch training,huh",Kim thought to herself.

As soon as Avery noticed Kim enter the living room, she quickly ran up to her and hugged her. "How are you doing now Lilimar. I am really really sorry for not having visited you since",Avery apologized.

"What about an excuse for why you could not call,text or even email me?", Kim asked seriously. Avery became speechless. Jake noticed the tension arising and he informed them that they had to go now.

On arriving to the school,a ton of students gathered around Kim and asked how she was feeling now. "Okay. Y'all should back off. She is absolutely fine now. You don't want to suffocate her to death,do you ", Chanel to them in a very rude manner.

"Thank you guys so much. I really appreciate your concern about how I am feeling. I am going much better now, and I hope you guys can treat me as equally as others. Thanks guys.", Kim said and everyone applauded her and gave her a big shout out.

Soon, they were inside the school building and were on their way to class. "What was that back there?", Avery asked. "What?"Kim said acting clueless. "It looked like you were giving a speech back there", Avery stated.

"Oh,yeah. I was..any problem?",Kim inquired. "You didn't have too, though. I already assured them that you are fine and they could back off", Avery said slightly rudely. "I know that. But they were worried about my well being and not yours. So it was only appropriate for me to thank them", Kim said.

Avery got really pissed off and still wanted to go on about the matter but the someone quickly hugged Kim from behind.

" Who the hell is that?!", Kim asked and placed a firm grip on the person's hand, ready to throw he/she down. "Ouch. That fucking hurts!", Javier said and loosened his arm from her tight grip.

"Are you okay Javier?!", Avery asked and held his hands. "Oh! So he is the so called Javier. What a baby",Kim said aside to herself. "Yeah. I am okay", Javier replied.

"How could you not have known that it was Javier?", Avery suddenly asked Kim. "He crept up on me and hugged me from behind. How could I have known it was him when I did not see his face ",Kim said defensively.

"But he always, like always does that. Could you not have tell", Avery stated and gave a confused look. "I guess I forgot about it. Being under special therapy must have really messed up with my mind,I guess ", Kim said sarcastically.

"So um,how you doing now?",Javier asked awkwardly. "Um,I guess I am okay. Thanks for asking. I hope I did not hurt you that bad, right?", Kim asked in a feign manner.

"Not really. It is fine but where did you learn how to do that. For a second there, I thought you were going to fling me and throw me down on the ground ",Javier teasingly said.

"I was not going to do that. I guess I was just really startled and it may have triggered my reflexes into action ",Kim lied. „Oh, I guess stuffs like that does happen in real life", he said and smiled.

The three of them walked together down the hall to their class. Avery and Javier were talking together and Kim took her time to study Javier. "I must admit, he is pretty good looking for a jerk like him. Your smile was kinda breath taking but I will not fall for you,Javier Park. I wonder what bond he shares with Avery. They seem so close, like really close ", Kim said aside to herself.

"I will be going to the counselor's office now. Javier, take good care of her, she seems pretty loss", Avery said and left. "Damn, everything feels very weird now. Stupid Avery,why did she have to go see the counselor at this exact moment ",Kim said aside to herself.

"So how have you been lately?",Javier timidly asked. "Like I said before,I am okay. I am doing much better now ",Kim plainly replied. "Uh,why do I get this feeling that you are kinda mad at me ",he asked.

"Well I am glad you sensed it",she said and smiled. "Why?",he asked. "Do I really need to explain it to you?" looks at him and sighs," I was in a bad state for a month and you did not even once try to check up on me", she said in a pissed off tone.

"I did check up on you. At the time I went to your place, your parents said you were still under going therapy. After your treatment was over,I tried calling and texting you but you did not respond to any. I could not come over after that because I was busy with a modelling contract in Asia", he explained.

"Okay",she plainly said. "Lilimar come on, please forgive me. I promise, I am really sorry ",he apologized. "It's okay. I forgive you though ",she said in order to end the matter. To her surprise,he immediately gave her a bear hug.

"Raymond is throwing a party this Friday night. Please tell me you are gonna come", he requested with a huge smile on his face.

"Damn it! Again with this breath taking smile ",she said aside to herself and subconsciously stared at his face.

"Earth to Lilimar", he called out and she immediately snapped out of her trance. "What?", she asked.

"Um, are you okay? You were kinda acting weird right now ", he replied. "Oh, sorry. I just lost concentration ", she explained.

"So what do you say? Please say you will come ", he said. "If I am free that night,then I will surely come ", she said. "Thanks. See you at lunch ", he said and headed to the gym room.

"He does not seem to be a jerk though. I guess I was too quick to judge him. I see why Kira likes the guy, he is pretty charming and has a sweet side to his character ", she said to herself and subconsciously smiled.

Classes were over and it was finally lunch time. Kimberly was on her way to the school cafeteria but she felt like something was really off. Stops for a second and looks round," why do I feel like someone is following me",she thought to herself.She was just about to go back and check around if anyone was hiding there, when all of a sudden, a guy approached her.

"Lilimar, how are you doing now ", the guy asked. "I am fine. Thanks for asking ", she replied but wondered who the guy was. "So will you be coming to my party this Friday night? Javier told me he personally invited you ", he asked.

"Oh, so he is Raymond ", she said aside to herself. "Oh yes. Javier already begged me to come,so I definitely will", she replied. "Can you please stop acting all lovey dovey right now ", Raymond jokingly said.

"How am I acting all lovey dovey?",she asked cluelessly. "Javier already begged me to come, so I definitely will ", he teasingly mimicked her. She hits his back playfully and said," stop making it sound so cringe". "Are you on your way to the cafeteria?", he asked. "Yes, I am",she replied. "Let us go together then", he said.

All through out the week, Kimberly felt like someone was constantly watching her. This made her change her mind about going to Raymond's party.

"What do you mean you are not going to go again?! Come on Lils, you assured me that you were going to go ", Javier said and sat on her bed.

"I know I did but I have been feeling really uncomfortable lately. So staying at home would be best for me. And why the hell are you making it such a big deal if I do not go? It is not like it's even your party after all", she inquired.

"Damn,you are being quite inquisitive you know ", he fussed. "Javier, what are you hiding?", she asked and looked at him straight in the eyes with a demanding look on her face.

"Shit! I warned Ray not to tell me. Fool knows how bad I am at keeping secrets and he still told me. I will end up ruining his plan now", he said aside to himself as he got lost in Kim's intimidating eyes. "Damn, she terrifies me with that look", he thought to himself.

"Javier!!", she intimidatingly called out loudly. "Raymond met these really top tier models and he really wants them to sign under his mother's clothing line", he said but got interrupted by Kimberly.

"So how does the party and I relate to all this?", she asked. "They said they would only sign in,if they know or see any top model modelling his mother's clothes." pauses and sighs," So Raymond threw this party so that he could introduce the both of us to them ", he briefly explained.

"Oh, okay. I still am not going though",she said. Then she turned to leave but he pulled her and she lost her balance and fell next to him on the bed. As soon as she raised her head up,she noticed that he was staring at her.

"Shit,why the heck is he staring so intensely at me like that. We are just too close and it is really awkward for me", she said aside to herself.

"Are you okay?", he asked. " Yes, I am", she replied and tried to get up but he held her back. "What?!", she questioned. "You seem kind of different lately. Like something changed about you", he stated.

"What was I thinking to fall so close to him. He is Kira's boyfriend, he has spent so much time with her that he could have been able to spot a difference. I need to do something fast", she thought to herself.

Javier moved in closer to her and tried to push her hair backward but she suddenly stood up.

"I have changed my mind. I thought hard on it and I will be going to Ray's party after all. I mean what type of friend would I be if I can not even help him." fakes an awkward laugh," I am going to go take a shower now and then get dressed. Just wait for me here", she quickly said and walked into her bathroom.

" I was only going to ask if she dyed her hair because it seems much lighter now than before. Why did she have to act so weird like that?" pauses and thinks for a second," Woah!! Did she think I was perhaps going to kiss her or maybe do something else to her? Wow!!", he said to himself and smirked.

Minutes later,Javier and Kim arrived at Raymond's party. "I am so glad that you guys could make it. I was starting to think that you guys had bailed on me ", Raymond said.

"You mean bailed on your party, right? It is not like if we had not showed up, your party would have been a waste, right?",Kim asked trickily.

Then with a shocked look on his face,he looked at Javier,then at Kimberly and then back at Javier. "Dang dude!! You freaking told her?!", Raymond exclaimed.

"Dude, I warned you not to tell me about it. You know how bad I am at keeping secrets and lying. And besides she is my girlfriend, so I just had to tell her ", Javier defensively said.

The last part of what he had said, really put Kim in an awkward position. "Um, I will just walk around for now", she said and left both of them.

"Is it just me or does Lilimar act weird sometimes now?", Raymond asked. "Yeah, I have noticed. But I guess it may be the side effect from her traumatic accident ", Javier replied as he watched Kim walk away till she was out of sight.

"Damn bro! You really are simping ", Ray teasingly said. "No, I am not. Have you seen Avery yet?", he asked. "Yes. She is down by the pool ", Raymond replied. "Okay,thanks",he said and left.

Few hours later, Kim had gotten really drunk and was in search of Javier. "Woah,woah!!", Raymond said has he stopped a drunk Kimberly from falling into the pool.

"What the hell are you trying to do?", he asked. "I..I am feeling really hot. I want to cool myself down in the pool ", she replied.

"No Lilimar. Have you really forgotten that you can't swim? You will end up drowning yourself if you do so. Come, let me take you inside ", he said.

"No! I want to go home but I can not seem to find Javier ", she drunkenly said. "Okay. Go to the game room, you will find him there", Ray said.

" Thanks", she said and went inside the building. "With the state she is in. I hope she finds the game room ", Ray said.

Kim looked for the game room for ages before she finally found it. She was about to open the door to the room,when she heard familiar voices. Then she slightly opened the door to know which people were in there. On catching sight of them,she let out a big gasp.
