Chapter 8 Mrs. Cox Was Here to Examine the Goods

As the richest family in Sea City, the Hayes owned more fortune than those at the party combined.

Ryan Hayes was a legend. At the tender age of 18, he took the helm of Hayes Group. In just five years, he extended their family business all over the world. Now the company was active in all sectors.

When this man stamped his feet, the entire Sea City would tremble. An instruction from him could crush the stock market.

It was sensational and heavenly glory that the son of the Hayes Family came here to congratulate William.

An excited Jack assisted William to trot to the gate.

A black Rolls Royce Phantom was parked outside. Ryan's secretary, Nolan Porter, got off from the passenger seat and came up with a gift box.

"Mr. Anderson, following the instruction of our old lady, Mr. Hayes is here to congratulate you. Happy birthday, we wish you happiness and longevity." The bespectacled secretary looked back at the limousine.

A window of the backseat dropped, revealing Ryan's poker face. He slightly bowed his head and soon rolled up the window.

Nolan presented the gift, turned around, and went back to the car. In no time, the Rolls Royce disappeared into the darkness.

The incident lasted less than one minute, but it was enough to shock and ravish William.

"William, you're really something. Even the Hayes Family sent a gift to you."

"Mr. Hayes was away for years. As soon as he came back, he sent you a congratulatory gift. William, you're worthy of your reputation."

Surrounded by the guests, William went back to the banquet hall. People's flattery sent him to the clouds, and he lost himself in joy.

In the hall, people were talking about when the Andersons made friends with the Hayes. That family was really something enviable.

"I didn't see any interactions between the Andersons and the Hayes. Somehow, the Hayes sent their son to offer congratulations. This is such glory for the Andersons."

"Eh, don't you know? The old lady of the Hayes Family will celebrate her 60th birthday in a few days. They claim to invite all the young ladies from major families. I'm sure they called Mr. Hayes back to arrange blind dates."

"Do you mean the Hayes Family favors Miss Anderson?"

"That's possible. After all, Miss Anderson is beautiful and good at playing the piano."

A lot of people agreed with the speculation and flattered the Andersons even more.

Standing behind the crowd, Eliza felt excited to hear their conversations.

She remembered a piano competition years ago. Sitting under the stage, Ryan snapped pictures of her.

Back then, she was overjoyed, but nothing happened in the next few years. As time went on, she forgot about the episode.

Unexpectedly, Ryan sent a gift to them as soon as he came back, and it was for her sake.

Was he courting her?

Not only Eliza but the rest of her family were also convinced of this possibility.

After all, their family had no connections with the Hayes. Only the fact that the Hayes Family liked Eliza could explain the sudden gift.

The banquet hall became very noisy. Standing in a corner, Hailey watched with confusion as people vied with each other to flatter William and his son.

She couldn't understand it. That man just took an arrogant glance at the crowd without even revealing his entire face. Why was everyone so excited?

They acted like a swarm of flies discovering a rotten egg with a broken shell.

Hailey laughed at the apt analogy.

"Hailey, come here; I'll introduce you to someone."

While William and his son were immersed in ecstasy, Amaya didn't forget their mission.

She led Hailey to a middle-aged noblewoman.

"Hailey, this is Mrs. Cox. Her mother is a close friend of your grandma. The friendship between our families has lasted for generations." Amaya said.

Mrs. Cox sized her up, head to toe.

Hailey lowered her head with feigned shyness. Deep down, she knew that Mrs. Cox was here to examine the goods.
