Chapter 9 The Wrong Timing

It was early the next morning when Nora woke up again.

In a daze, she heard people talking around her.

She slowly opened her eyes and was startled by the figures that crashed into her eyes.

Alex and Chet were in the room.

Also, there was a doctor in a white gown with a calm expression. It was hard to tell what was going on from his face.

What had happened?

At this moment, Alex was in black pajamas. The simple clothing was not as dazzling as the formal wear he usually wore. However, it made the vibe the man gave off even more standoffish and frosty. Noticing that the woman had awakened to reality, he ordered in a mellow voice, "You guys get out."

As his collar was somehow tilted, part of his tanned muscles around his collarbone was exposed to the air.

Nora avoided Alex's gaze and looked at Chet. It was early in the morning. What were they doing here in the room?

At this moment, Chet noticed the confusion in Nora's eyes, flashed a gentle smile, and greeted her respectfully as he did in the past, "Madam, good morning."

With that, he left the room with the doctor without saying anything else.

Witnessing the perplexing scene in front of her, Nora furrowed her brows.

After a while, she eventually came to her senses and then belatedly realized that her lower body felt different.

"If I hadn't cleaned you up myself last night, I would have thought that you were deliberately trying to get in my face."

Standing before the woman and staring at her with a meaningful look in his deep sockets, Alex said in a somewhat mocking tone of voice.

Something occurred to the woman at the wrong timing.

Nora eventually understood that she fainted abruptly last night due to her period!

As a matter of fact, every time Nora's period came, the pain would almost kill her.

"You, you helped me..."

Only then did Nora catch the meaning of the man's words. Instantly, her initially serene face blushed all over.

Alex witnessed the embarrassment on the woman's face and snorted, saying, "Don't tell me that you are feeling shy. Which part of your body do you think I haven't seen or touched or..."

"Shut up!"

Nora was not in the mood to look backward in front of the man.

It was nearly nine o'clock.

"I must go to work now. Let's talk later."

Nora had been traveling back and forth between the hospital and the workplace over the last few days. And the work she was in charge of could not be delayed any longer.

The woman got out of bed in a hurry and looked for her shoes with her pale, delicate toes upon the floor curled up subconsciously.

Alex stared at the panicked woman and could not bear to see her clear-cut, delicate feet to be contaminated by the floor.

With a gloomy expression on his face, he directly picked the woman up and said in a dominant tone of voice, "Quit your job."

Certainly, Nora would disagree.

"Mr. Hoffman," Nora said with her usual detachment, "The contract only requests me to make a baby with you. You have no right to interfere with my own life. Please show some respect."

Compared to the half-million yuan, Nora's salary was perhaps not worth mentioning. However, it was enough for her to keep the pot boiling.

She only agreed to make a baby with the man. It did not mean she would listen to him for the rest of her lifetime.

Thanks to Alex, Nora had lost her supreme status as the young lady of the Stock Family and become a person who had to prioritize the price whenever she intended to purchase anything.
