Chapter 7 A Murderer

"Throw banknotes at others? Isn't Nova a well-bred woman? How could she do such a thing?"

"Well-bred? Ho! She was a home-wrecker and stole someone else's husband."

Upon hearing the chattering around, Mia flashed a brighter smile. With tear marks at the corners of her eyes, she curled up her lips into a mocking smile.

Even so, her delicate face was extraordinarily stunning.

"I thought you were a woman with dignity. It turns out that you're a home-wrecker. As rich as you are, you're so shameless." Mia was on fire. Nova glared at the young woman. But before she could speak, Mia interrupted her by continuing, "Don't pretend to be innocent. You're actually a murderer!"

A murderer?

Nova?

Not only the guests present were astonished, but also Asher, who had paid all his attention to Dylan, the son he had not seen for long, intuitively turned to look at the women.

Asher initially thought Mia was making a scene for status and money like many other women and therefore did not take her seriously. But it seemed that the thing was not as simple as he thought so.

Asher squinted his eyes. Witnessing so, Dylan revealed a faint smile and tilted his head to look at Mia with interest.

From the moment Mia walked in, he recognized that she was the woman who was not attracted to him out there. Also, he was genuinely intrigued by the mourning clothes she was in.

Why on earth did the young woman show up in such an outfit and allege that Nova was a murderer?

Nova intuitively wanted to negate Mia's accusation. However, at the thought of something, she became uncertain and worried.

Did Mia's mother die of anger because of Nova's words? She wished that her guess was false.

"Even if the girl's mother died, it must be a consequence of her own problem and have nothing to do with me." Nova thought inwardly.

The idea relieved Nova somehow. Once again, she held her neck high and cast a contemptuous glance at Mia, saying in a tough tone of voice, "Think it through before speaking and don't spread vicious gossip. I have lived most of my life and encountered all kinds of situations. Clearly, you're desperate to marry my son and slandering me to attract attention."

"Marry your son? I won't do that even if he is the last man standing in the world." Mia's tone was extremely disdainful, and she even felt like vomiting.

"I'm here to tell you that my mother died of anger because of you. Are you satisfied now? I wonder if you could still sleep tight at night. Perhaps you could, given how ruthless a woman you are."

"Don't smite with the tongue. She died because of her own fragility and weakness. It has nothing to do with me."

Intuitively, Nova took a step back. Witnessing what was going on, Luke was completely shocked. He stared at Mia unblinkingly, hoping to catch something from her facial expression.

However, he was disappointed.

There was nothing else but hatred in Mia's eyes.

The hatred was intense and profound. It seemed that Mia wanted to put Nova behind bars.

"Mia, your mother, she..."

"Shut up. Don't call me by my name!" Mia shook off Luke's hand. Unexpectedly, another hand was reached out to her and then slapped her in the cheek. Instantly, Mia tilted her head to one side and felt that her face was burning in pain.

The sudden slap caught Mia off guard. It happened so fast that Luke could not stop it.

The slap was from Bella, which made her own palm red. She used all her strength to give Mia the smack, and her palm ached slightly.

"Mia, this slap is the punishment of your shamelessness."

Mia looked at Bella, and the latter rushed to say for fear that the former would say anything unpleasant.

However, Bella should not have got involved. Mia initially did not intend to hold her accountable this time. In fact, when Luke told Mia that no matter who he was going to marry, he loved her the most, Mia felt grateful that Bella had stolen the douche bag away from her.

Unfortunately, out of her guilty conscience, Bella walked up to slap Mia in the cheek and pretended to be innocent as if she did not steal a man from someone else.

Judging from the strength that Bella put forth, Mia knew that the woman wanted to kill her.

Therefore, Mia decided that she did not need to be polite.

Staring at Bella's face full of apprehension, Mia abruptly flashed a smile.

Although her face was still in sharp pain, Mia ignored it and took two steps forward, forcing Bella to wrap her arms around her chest and retreat.

"Bella, you are a bitch who has stolen someone else's boyfriend. How dare you describe me to be shameless? Well, I might be shameless. I didn't steal your boyfriend. But you? You stole your homie's boyfriend. How bitchy is that? You tell me."

Instead of getting mad, Mia burst out laughing. Her tone of voice was somewhat odd, and she deliberately mimicked Bella's expression and manners.

Mia's words were like another bombshell, causing those guests on the scene to sneer.

"Not only the mother-in-law is a home-wrecker, but also the daughter-in-law. And the young woman actually stole her bestie's boyfriend. There's just so much we don't know yet."
