Chapter 5 Wedding or Funeral

"Bride and groom, please exchange your rings!"

After a series of long, boring procedures, here came the last part. Bella could not help but flash a bright smile. After exchanging the rings with Luke, she would officially become the Powell Family's daughter-in-law, a status dreamed of by many.

"Luke, I'll love you with all my heart." While speaking, Bella picked up the ring and quickly put it on the man's finger.

Luke lowered his head to look at the ring and curled up his lips disdainfully. Then, he picked up another one to put it on Bella's finger.

In Luke's eyes, all these were just a ceremony, and marriage was full of formalism.

He loved Mia, cherished her in his heart, and believed that that was enough.

While thinking self-righteously, Luke was about to put the ring on Bella's finger. At this moment, some noise came from outside and then a tall, handsome man showed up.

The man's features were even finer than those of Luke's. Only the word 'stunning' could be used to describe them.

All the attention was drawn to the man. In particular, those unmarried women were almost unable to hold themselves back.

Bella, the bride, however, suddenly froze upon seeing the man.

When did he come back? Had not he been out of the country for many years? How could he appear at the wedding?

Was the man here to get back at her?

Seeing the man approaching, Bella had all kinds of feelings welling up in her heart. As the man stood in front of her, Bella stiffened all over.

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

The man's eyes remained on Luke's body.

When Bella thought the man would look over at her, he suddenly curled up the corners of his mouth into a gorgeous smile, an exceedingly beautiful but appropriate and decent one.

"Luke, congratulations."

The man put his arm around Luke's shoulders, and his voice was delightful to hear.

It was undeniable that the man was excellent. No wonder that so many women were willing to do anything to obtain his attention.

"Brother, thanks for coming back."

Luke cast a grateful glance at Dylan Powell. Although the marriage was not what Luke wanted, he still felt touched that Dylan was here.

Dylan had been abroad for many years. His coming back on Luke's wedding day showed that Dylan valued their brotherhood.

"Do you want to introduce your wife to me?"

Dylan glanced at Bella, and the woman paled badly in an instant.

"What's wrong with her? Why does she look so pale?"

Dylan pretended that he did not know Bella before and showed his concern appropriately. However, Bella could clearly see the traces of mockery in Dylan's eyes.

She could tell that she was nothing but an ant in Dylan's eyes which could be destroyed at any time.

"She's fine. Don't worry. She is probably ecstatic to marry me."

Luke was not mindful of Bella's need for respectability and did nothing to conceal the disgust in his face. His words immediately caused an uproar among the audience.

Was the marriage just the bride's wishful thinking?

Did it mean that the other women were not deprived of hope completely?

"Oh? I see!"

Dylan twitched his brows and cast a playful glance at Bella to make her tremble all over.

She knew that a horrible man like Dylan could easily make her envy the dead.

She took one step back cautiously and moved her eyes off Dylan. However, she then noticed a person she was even more unwilling to see.

Mia was in a white outfit and entering the church. She did not wear any makeup. Her face was pale, her lips were pinkish, and her eyes were filled with tears.

How could she show up in mourning clothes? That was too much.

"Take her out of here!"

Bella called out to her bodyguards, but it was too late.

People in the church all turned to look at Mia.

It was novel indeed to see a person in mourning clothes at a wedding.

"Who the hell is this woman? Look at the mourning clothes she is in. What makes she hate the Powell Family so much?"

"Well, maybe she is here for Bella. It seems that the woman is not someone easy to deal with."

"Who knows! Let's wait and see!"

The guests on the scene thought it was their luck to witness the free, live revenge show.

Two bodyguards walked up to Mia, but Dylan's subordinates swiftly stopped them.

"Why are your subordinates stopping my bodyguards?"

Bella nerved herself to ask but dared not look into Dylan's eyes. At her question, Dylan lifted his proud eyes slightly and flashed an enchanting smile, saying, "She is a guest no matter how. It's unfair to kick her out of here without letting her express her discontentment."

Discontentment? What kind of discontentment could Mia have? She was obviously here to rob Luke.

Mia was really bold to show up in mourning clothes.

Bella cast a glance at Luke and found that he stared at Mia without blinking. Bella flew into a rage but could do nothing else except stomping.

With Dylan in the way, what could she do?
