Chapter 7 Caveman CEO

Ryan sat at the back seat with his eyes closed and different thoughts ran through his head.

Who's that lady? Why is she Alexa Sam Cruz? Why does she look nothing like Samantha? He tried linking everything he could but it wasn't successful.

So, he arrived at a decision... She's not Sam!

However, where's Sam? Where's his to-be bride? He has never heard anything about her since the last five years. He missed her badly and he resent her as well.

How could she do that to him? His father is the killer not him. She couldn't just break off their love and memories of more than four years.

To make it more painful, she cursed the day they met, the times they spent together! He held on to his chest immediately. No matter when he thinks about it, his heart just can't withstand it.

It's always like his heart is being hit with a heavy rock. Because he loves her! He loves her more than she loves him, he loves her more than himself.

He badly wants to meet her again and he's patiently waiting with his heart yearning for her uncontrollably.

What if she's married now? The question hit him suddenly and he let out a deep sigh.

"We're here, sir!" The driver's voice chipped into his thoughts and he sat up Immediately.

"Yeah!" He plainly said and alighted.

"Ryan, you are back!" Tamina squeaked and ran towards him.

"Yes, I'm back! Is that something new?" He replied scornfully.

"Don't be so cold to someone who did you a favor! So, did you get my gift?" She linked arms with him as they entered the living room.

Tamina knew she might get swallowed alive for doing that, but she did it anyway.

"Oh, it's your doing! Thanks, I got your nuisance package. That chatterbox of a secretary!" He yelled the last part and she flinched a bit.

He snatched his arm away from her hold and they maintained a reasonable distance.

"What do you mean nuisance package? Alexa is a very nice person, that was why I suggested the job to her!" Tamina defended.

"How did you know her in the first place?" Ryan inquired.

"Ah, that... She's a regular at the cafe I work at, after school. "

"You're working?" He arched his brow and he nodded.

"It's part-time work! I can't stay cooped up in this house alone, so I do work the noon to evening shift, impressive, right?" She flashed her teeth to Ryan who merely scoffed.

"Do you even know her name?" He asked her and Tamina shrugged.

"Of course, Alexa Sam Cruz!" She answered without blinking an eye.

"The name rings no bell?$ He shook his head and she spread her arm apart.

"What kinda bell? Church bell!" She exclaimed and bursted into a sarcastic laughter. But the killing glare on Ryan's face made her keep quiet immediately.

"Not funny?" She sucked in her lower lip.

"Forget it, I'm out of here!" He scoffed and left her front.

"Ah , don't try that ever again! Why will you find me a secretary? Don't you ever try that again!" He warned and resumed walking upstairs.

"What the....! Don't you think you're being too much? I only helped. You should appreciate me more, shouldn't you? No one will live with you if not me! You lost all your charm, you're moving around with a madman hairstyle. You lost your charm, nothing left again! You're just like a stone, be grateful... huh!" She yelled after him but only got a door slam for a reply.

"That awful temper of his will kill me one day! I'd have cussed him to death if he's not my brother!" Tamina mumbled and stomped her feet on the floor.

AT ALEXA APARTMENT

Alexa was fixing her dinner at the kitchen when she started hearing her phone ringing in the living room.

She dashed out of the kitchen and grabbed her phone on the chair that was right next to the kitchen door.

"Mom!" She called and picked it up after a long sigh.

... "Why are you ignoring my calls, Alexa?" Her mom asked as soon as she picked the call and she bit her lower lip.

... "I'm sorry, mom! I was job hunting." Just got back home, she gave an excuse.

... "What job?"

... "I got introduced to a job by a young friend and I went there today and trust me mom, I got it!" She yelled the last part.

... "Maybe I'll be a little impressed, if we're in the same house. I feel so uncomfortable leaving you alone by yourself! Just come back home Sam!" Her mom said and Alexa's face dropped.

... "Mom, You're making me feel bad! I left home because of this in the first place. You can't keep treating me like a kid, I have to find myself in this wide world! Stop doing this to me!" She replied and her mom sighed.

... "So , are you having your meals at the right time? Are you taking your medications? Are you okay? Any severe headache? Any joint pain?" She asked different questions at the same time.

... "Mom, one at a time! Fortunately, I'm doing all and no headache or pain. Because, I'm taking my medications at the right time!" Alexa replied.

... "That's a relief then! Goodnight daughter, let me know when you rethink your decision to come home."

... "Sadly , that won't be happening. Goodnight Mom, I love you!" She replied and hung up.

"Phew ! That was a close call! She breathed out loudly."

"Oh my! It's getting late, I'm no longer jobless. I should eat my dinner as soon as possible so I can get to work early and surprise the "caveman CEO". Alexa said to herself and bursted in a loud laughter.

"Caveman CEO!" Not bad, his hair is too long to be okay. I should get him to cut it within this week, First mission!" She added and went back inside the kitchen.
