Chapter 4 The Relocation

THREE DAYS LATER.

"So you guys are gonna leave for Switzerland?" Irene, Katrina's colleague asked again as she followed her out of the house with a suitcase in her hand.

"I'd appreciate it, if you make use of the recent answers, I'm tired of replying to the same question all over. What part of "yes" are you finding so hard to grasp?" Katrina snapped in a reply and unlocked the car from afar by pressing a button on the key in her hand.

"I'm just so shocked, since it's all so sudden. You suddenly requested for a transfer without any head ups!" Irene snapped in return.

"There's no head ups in my life, if you heard of my death some days, make no inquiry. I'm very sure, it's gonna be shock that killed me." Katrina scoffed and Irene slapped her back immediately.

"How can you even joke about that? Your mom is currently on the edge, don't let her hear that!" Irene scolded and opened the car trunk as soon as they got in front of it.

"I didn't lie anyway!" She scrunched up her nose as they loaded the luggages in the trunk of the car.

"My life is filled with shockers, Dad's death, the horrible life I lead. His killer getting revealed, Samantha's accident and now... Relocating to Switzerland. So, tell me if my name shouldn't be changed to Katrina shocker?" She added and Irene chuckled.

She couldn't believe how her sense of humor was still intact in that heartbreaking situation.

"Are we ready?" Ema asked, emerging from inside the house.

"Yes, mom! You can enter first", Katrina answered and Ema entered the car like she had said.

Suddenly, Katrina grabbed Irene's hand after her mom had entered the car.

"What is this about?" Irene smirked knowing she was about to ask for a favor.

"I spent all my life unraveling the secret behind my father's death, Irene. I eventually found the killer but I couldn't punish him with my own hand because of my sister's accident."

"Please , take care of the case for me! Don't ever let him slip off. The Erwin's are influential people, so please Irene... Be eagle-eyed on this matter or else it's just gonna disappear like a smoke without a trace", Katrina pleaded with Irene desperately.

"Of course, Katrina! We worked together on this case. So, don't make it seem like you're asking for a big favor! It's my duty anyway." Irene replied and squeezed her hand warmly.

"We have to go now!" She smiled and Katrina nodded.

With that they both entered the car where Ema was waiting patiently.

"Mom, we'll get going now!" Katrina said but Ema who was deeply lost in thought couldn't even hear.

"Let's go Irene!" She tapped her colleague's shoulder and she started the car.

"Off we go!" Irene announced and drove out of the compound.

Their regular driving speed is always high, since they were always chasing after criminals, days and nights!

The drive to the airport was very fast and no one can complain, because Katrina was okay with it and her mom's mind is not in any way around.

"Is that not his car?" Katrina muttered seeing a red Lexus drove past them in a speed of light.

"Whatever!" She shrugged and looked away.

She was right because the car belonged to Ryan, her sister's ex-fiance.

Ryan, who was left in a state of despair couldn't wrap her head around the message.

He can't believe it, no.... He wouldn't believe it! How can Samantha leave him? They are both deeply in love than to call it quits in a day.

Everything in his life seems like a lie that moment, His father can never be a murderer! Never, why? He's the nicest man he had ever known!

How can his father be the murderer of his own lover's father? If that should turn out to be true.... He would never forgive him! Not in this life!

Ryan pulled over roughly in front of Samantha's house and clearly jumped out of the car.

He pushed open the unlocked green gate and ran inside. He sprinted towards the living room door and tried barging it but it was locked.

"What? What is this?" That was the first thing that escaped his mouth.

"Samantha! Samantha!" He screamed, banging the door really hard.

"Sam, this is not right! Come out, let's talk this out!" He added but got no reply still.

"Please ! I can't live without you, you can't do this to me." He sobbed sporadically.

"Samantha , I'll kill myself if you don't come out here! Did you want that? Are you ready to lose me too? Sam!" He screamed on top of his voice.

The gate was opened suddenly and he turned around with immediate effect. But the look on his face clearly defined he was disappointed by who he saw.

He turned around again and resumed his strenuous knocking.

"Please stop Ryan!" Tamina pleaded with him.

He ignored her and continued Knocking until a blood stain could be seen on the iron door.

"Stop!!!" She screamed and dragged him away from the door.

"You're hurting yourself! You cut your hand already!" She yelled in tears

"Are you shocked by that? I'm killing myself if I leave here without seeing Samantha!" He scoffed, looking serious, and she did the unbelievable by giving him a hard slap on his face.

"Get it together! This is not the next thing. You need to find out if you have the right to say all those to her! We need to confirm who our father really is. Now, follow me and let's go to the prosecutor's office and ask him ourselves!" Tamina yelled angrily.

She couldn't stand her older brother acting that rashly, so she spoke some sense into him.

She noticed Ryan didn't budge, so she dragged him along and he followed like a robot.

*

They both arrived at the prosecution and they were led to the interrogation room by the prosecutor in charge.

"Here he is, you can_ _

The prosecutor was saying when Ryan barged in immediately, not listening to the rest of his crap.

Tamina followed timidly, losing all the confidence she had gathered earlier.

She was so scared to find out the truth!

"Ryan, Tamina!" Their father called as he saw them both enter.

"I can't believe you guys will be here to_ _

"Did you kill Samantha's Dad? Are you really the murderer of David Cruz? Dad!!" He cut him off immediately.

The three of them stare at each other with a deadly and curious gaze.

The gaze was so intense that Tamina started breathing heavily, her forehead broke into hot sweats, waiting for what her father would reply.

However, he only stared at them without saying anything.

"Dad!!!!" Ryan thundered impatiently and Tamina flinched.
