Chapter 5 I do care

Nath's POV

I was thirsty and wanted to drink some water, I was about to go to the kitchen when I heard Lina calling

me ''Oh Nath! I was about to go to you'' she said.

I went towards her with a smile on my face which soon disappeared when I saw my mother standing there holding Lina's hand

''what's up? I asked

before Lina could say anything mother said

''I told you to turn the music down didn't I''?

''yep you did and I ignored it '' I said.

''How dare you talk to me like this'' mom said and started digging her nails into Lina's hand who was standing there closing her eyes tightly it must hurt her I thought.

I don't know why but I couldn't keep my eyes away from their hands strange right?! one is my mother and the other one was my sister STEP sister to be exact. Lina must have noticed the tension she took back her hand which was tightly held by my mother.

She looked at it and was about to go when I grabbed her hand and dragged her toward the empty kitchen leaving my mother dumbfounded.

I locked the door and turned toward her

"Why did you lock the door? " Lina said.

''Show me your hand'' I ordered her ignoring her words.

''It's nothing really'', she said and hid her hand behind her back I couldn't take it anymore and forcefully took her hand my action made her hiss in pain.

''sorry'', I sight and looked at her hand which had red marks most of them bleeding which were caused by my mother's fingernails.

The sight made my blood boil "it's nothing really" I mimicked her are you dumb? Can't you see that it's bleeding?!

"Don't act like you care" she said.

Her words hurt me

"I do care"

I said looking down.
