Chapter 6 My Husband is an Emperor

BECAUSE I couldn't leave the palace, I just studied in the library to find out the cure for the emperor's illness.

Every night I try to get the antidote in my dream. The visions that appear in my mind indicate that this is what I should explore, but I have been thinking for several nights that I still cannot get the right mixture. What is missing in what I have done that does not match the antidote in my dream.

My servant came later.

"Your Majesty, I have some soup for you." The waiter put down a bowl with only soup.

"Thank you," I said smiling, he was about to turn to leave my room but I stopped him.

"Just a minute!" The waiter stopped and faced me again.

"What is that, your majesty?" it asks,

"Has Emperor Rhizhi eaten yet?"

He headed before speaking. "Yes, your majesty. Princess Ching has already brought him something to eat."

I was disgusted by what I found out, so I stood up to make the emperor his food again.

"Your majesty..." the waiter called me, but I ignored it. I have to counter the poison that Princess Ching is giving here again. As long as I haven't discovered the cure that will cure the dear emperor.

While I was walking, I met Princess Ching. I stopped because he suddenly spoke.

"You know you're just wasting time making some food. The emperor doesn't eat it. His pain is getting worse because of you, so if I'm with you, don't bother anymore!" it spoke to me,

"Not eating? Liar!" I snorted at him, but he just laughed.

"You do not want to believe? Well, I won't force you, just look at the pile of spoiled food, so you don't doubt me anymore." I was stunned by what he said, he turned around with a smile and left me.

"Liar! You will do everything to poison the emperor," I whispered to myself, before I continued walking. I don't believe that majesty can throw away the food I make. Even so, I still went to the food dump to find out if what Princess Ching was saying was true. When I got there, the waiters tried to stop me.

"Your majesty, don't look anymore and the smell of the garbage dump of spoiled food is not good," he stopped me but they couldn't stop me. The more I felt myself being held back, the more I realized that what Princess Ching had said might be true. I immediately opened the boxes of spoiled food and was shocked because I saw the food that I worked hard to make every day just for the emperor. I sat down crying, and watched the servants of the palace. They just turned and felt sorry for me.

"Why doesn't the emperor just straighten me out? Why doesn't he want to eat what I made when he eats Princess Ching's? What is the problem? Am I not a good cook?" I cried and whispered to myself,

I stood up and left the restaurant. The palace servants followed me.

"I want to be alone, don't follow me anymore!" after saying that I left and went to my room. I cry while remembering what the emperor did.

"I want him to get well... but he is preventing me from treating him. What use am I here in the palace? I thought he married me because I was the only one who could cure him. Why doesn't he want me to do my duty?" I buried my face in my desk and released my anger there.

Later, the servant shouted again outside the door.

"Your majesty, the dear emperor is coming."

I wiped my tears from my eyes and immediately straightened myself up. He entered the door, but I remained seated, not looking at him.

"Empress Yeng, maybe it's better if you don't let me-"

"I understand, Your Highness. But maybe it's better if I know why you married me?" At that time, I faced him, but he suddenly looked away and turned his back on me.

"I married you because that's the right thing to do," he replied sparingly,

"Worth it? Where? Do I deserve to be hurt?" I started to cry again while saying the word "Nasakatu ako".

"Empress Yeng, I have a reason why I did not choose you to treat me. I want you to take care of yourself, even if that's all you do for me." He walked out of my room, I wanted to protest because how can I take care of myself if I keep getting hurt by what he does to me?

I stayed all night crying, not eating and not talking to the waiters. Until Xijie suddenly appeared in my room.

"Xijie?!" I said in shock, he smiled and came closer to me.

"I heard outside the palace that you are sick. That's why I'm worried about coming here," he told me,

"You might be caught by the soldiers, you might be found out by..." By the way, I have no value to the emperor so why should I worry about him finding out. My friend is still good, doing everything to make me happy.

"Who knows?" he asked but I just averted my eyes and turned to another part of the room.

"Princess Yeng, I am not afraid of anyone, not even the emperor. Have you forgotten that I can kill people? When something bad happens to you, don't expect that I won't do anything for you." I was surprised by what Xijie said, I know Xijie is a cheerful person, but I feel that he is not joking.

"Xijie, don't do that to the emperor. Even though I'm not important to him, I can't let him die just because of me. Please, don't do that to the emperor," my eyes begged Xijie.

Xijie stared at me, and touched my cheek.

"I can't promise Princess Yeng, but I will stop as long as I can," he said to me, but suddenly the door opened. At the same time, the strong wind hit Xijie so that he splashed against the wall. I was surprised by what happened, but what scared me more was seeing Emperor Rhizi's aura furious.

"Your majesty!" I immediately blocked myself so that he wouldn't get close to Xijie.

"You dare!" he shouted at Xijie, the soldiers entered and immediately pointed their swords at them. I screamed out of fear that Emperor Rhizi would kill my friend.

"Don't! Don't, your majesty!" I'm begging you, but because he's angry, he still looks at Xijie badly.

Xijie stood up, and he also looked at the Emperor evilly.

"Emperor Rhizi, a lowly leader but imprisoned by a blood curse!" The emperor was surprised by what Xijie said, even I did not understand what my friend was saying. "Don't try to hurt Princess Yeng's feelings, I can't let you just use her as an instrument that you are making a display in your kingdom! Just let him go, if you really care about his feelings!" Xijie firmly promised,

What does Xijie mean? What blood curse? Does he know the true pain of majesty?

"W-what do you mean? Blood curse?" I asked Xijie, but he seemed to realize and suddenly avoided my question.

"I'm leaving. Always be careful, Princess Yeng." He turned around and went out the window he had passed earlier. The soldiers immediately chased but they only reached the window, because they could not keep up with Xijie's speed.

I looked at the emperor, but he looked away from me. I wanted to ask what that curse was, but I felt it didn't want to talk about it. Now that I have an idea of his illness, it will be easier for me to find the right medicine for him.

"Move all of Empress Yeng's belongings to my room," he ordered the servants. He turned back and I was left with questions in my mind. Now that I am being sent back to the majesty's room, does this mean that what Xijie said is true? Or is he jealous of my friend again? Anyway, I will be able to identify everything more easily, especially and I will be able to monitor his health. There is only one thing on my mind right now, even if I am not important to the emperor, I will still continue to discover medicine for the emperor.

Because of what Xijie said, security in the palace was tightened even more. Emperor Rhizi was busy reading messages, while I was busy inventing a new medicine. I kept glancing at his majesty who was reading quietly. While I was not concentrating on glancing at his handsome face.

"Are you really busy with that or are you even more busy looking at me?" This is a serious question that caught me off guard.

"What? Hi-no! Why should I look at you?!" I pouted, but it just shook its head at what I said.

Later the faithful general arrived.

"Your majesty!" The general entered our room in a daze. But he saw me there so he signaled if he would continue what he was going to say. But the emperor did not react so he continued to speak. "There is a meeting going on at your brother's mansion, Your Highness. They plan to stage a rebellion to seize the throne from you. The others are appealing, because of your majesty's illness, and you are said to be unable to lead the country," he informed the emperor,

The emperor lashed out angrily. "This is exactly what he was waiting for, to have a reason to take my throne. I can't allow him to be emperor, he only has treason and torturing the people in his mind. Our country will become hell if he does what he wants to be the emperor!"

I was silent during the conversation between the two. This is the reason why his majesty does not want to disclose his illness. When others find out that there is no cure for the majesty's disease, they will have a reason to remove the majesty from his throne. But why does the emperor keep his illness a secret from me too? How will he discover the medicine if he doesn't trust me?

"Your Highness, what are we going to do to stop your brother?" the general asked the emperor,

It didn't speak, but I knew a lot was going through its mind. The emperor is not good yet, he cannot fight. I need to make the cure so that the emperor will not go through the rebellion. I can't bear to see the emperor die, I can't bear to watch him slowly being killed by his disease.

I closed my eyes to concentrate again. The emperor just stared at me and did not interrupt me.

My imagination once again took me to a strange world. But like before, only antidote is there. Again I saw the jar containing the strange antidote. So I quickly approached you but when I touched the jar, it suddenly fell to the floor and broke the jar. I was shocked at what I saw, because the flesh was not an antidote, but blood.

Fear drew me back, and my spirit returned again to generation. But when I got weak and felt short of breath, I sank down on the table.

"Empress Yeng! What happened to you?!" Emperor Rhizi asked, but I completely lost my spirit.

I do not know how many hours I have been sleeping soundly. All I know is that I feel a little heavy and the fever burns me; my eyes are hot, and I feel sleepy pulling me back. What is it that I feel and suddenly I feel sick?

"Empress Yeng," A voice came from beside me, so I turned to the side and saw the beloved emperor. It held my hand.

"Your majesty..." I said, I was about to get up but I felt too heavy.

"Just rest, don't try to stand up." It caressed my cheek, so I closed my eyes again and was pulled by the darkness again.

I don't know why when I woke up I was in another place. In my parents' home, and I will never forget it because outside the house I know very well the chair that I always sit on every evening. It's time for Father to go home from the hospital where he is receiving treatment, along with my mother who is also helping with the treatment. Later, I was surprised when the gate of our door suddenly opened and my parents entered. I was suddenly happy and I was going to approach them but I saw that they were arguing. So I was stunned and remained standing in front of the two as if they didn't see me.

"What are we going to do? The emperor will punish us!" my Mother said very scared,

My father frowned as he stared into nothingness.

"I'll find a way!" My father said firmly, while clenching his fists.

"What way are you going to do it? Don't use our son, Yeng might die from what you do!" He was crying and his lips trembled with fear.

There, my father seemed to be in tears, I couldn't believe that despite knowing my cheerful father, he was also crying. And this was the only day that I saw him in tears when my Mother mentioned my name.

"If that's the only way to save our son I will do it. I cannot allow the Emperor to punish you. They should only punish me, because I made a mistake." My father walked away but my Mother stopped him.

"Don't! I'm ready to be punished, just don't do this to our son! Please!" wailing in tears my Mother said.

"I will not harm him, I will not do that to him."

"Don't be in a hurry! Please, don't do this! I am ready to die for our son." Mother begged, but Father ignored it. It continued to enter the house.

What do they mean? Why would the emperor punish them? What did Father do and someone else had to sacrifice?

Questions left unanswered when I returned to the present. I woke up and saw the doctor in front of me. He grabbed my wrist before standing up and facing the emperor.

"He's fine, your majesty. He just needs rest." He went and said goodbye to the emperor. The emperor was left standing, still staring at me. I got up so he came over and helped me sit down.

"How are you feeling now?" it asked me,

I looked into his eyes before asking.

"Did my parents become doctors when I was young?" I also asked him that he was very surprised. It stared at me and did not immediately speak. So I held him by the arm to ask again. "Do you know anything about the death of my parents?"
