Chapter 4 Terrified Woman

AFTER Joshua's work at the office, he immediately went to his godfather's office. He is calling her because he has something important to say. It was perfect because he could talk to his godfather and let him know that he would be taking a few weeks off to take care of his marriage with Alisha. Alisha has been teasing him for several months and if he can't do it, he will go back to another country to work. Even if he stops her from going to another country, there is nothing he can do because even he cannot fulfill his promise that they will get married.

"Ninong," Joshua opened the door.

"Oh, there you are Joshua. Come on in and we have something important to talk about."

Joshua continued and sat comfortably in front of the table.

"Hello, Joshua. Congratulations on the success of your team. I really did not mistake you, you are really good when it comes to business. That's why I'm so proud to say that you are one of the people I think can succeed as CEO."

Joshua was surprised by what his godfather said. He could not believe that his godfather would say this, because the truth is that they were not real godfathers. He was only able to call this godfather because he was his second parent.

Joshua smiled while scratching his head.

"Ninong... it's like I don't have the right to be the CEO of the company. You have already helped me a lot and it will be superfluous if I become a CEO," he promised shyly.

Leo laughed at what Joshua said. He was obviously very happy with his pet's response.

"Joshua, Joshua, you really... you have no confidence in yourself. Why would you be redundant if you were to replace my CEO?"

Joshua just walked away feeling embarrassed. He actually wants to be a CEO. But he was ashamed of his godfather, he was still strong and able to work. But there is a chance that it is always really sick.

"What are we going to talk about?" he changed the subject.

He smiled before pulling out the folder from the drawer. It was placed in front of Joshua so he took it and opened it. He cringed when he read the profile of a famous person.

"Ah, godfather... what am I going to do here?" he wondered.

"I know that you know the real owner of this company, don't you? My brother who had an accident ten years ago. That's why when my brother passed away, I took charge of his remaining assets – including this company." Joshua just nodded at what his godfather said. "And I know that my brother was not just an accident. I know that our enemy in the company is the mastermind behind all that. I haven't gotten any evidence yet, but I will slowly get justice for him. But for now, I want you to find my brother's only child."

"Son? Do you have a nephew?" Joshua asked. He didn't know that he had a nephew.

"Yes. He was involved in the accident, but his body was not found inside the car. We suspect that the child survived, or maybe the perpetrator is hiding it."

"In that case, do you have a true heir, godfather? And if your brother's son is alive, he can continue the business left behind by your brother," Joshua continued.

His godfather Leo nodded, but sadness was still evident on his face.

"Yes, if you can find my nephew then what you say will come true. I've been looking for Joanah for years. But we are always disappointed."

"Joan? Your niece is a girl, Godfather?" Joshua thought that his brother's son was a boy.

Leo took out his picture from his pocket and handed it to Joshua. It is only five years old in the picture, but it is so beautiful that it looks like a palace.

"How old is he now, godfather?" he asked.

"He is twenty years old, but he is about to sell one."

"In that case, I'm looking for a girl. How do I know him? And how do I know that he is the nephew you are looking for, Godfather? He is very young in the picture." Joshua scratched his head. As soon as he thinks about what step he will take first, he won't know if his search will have any results. How is he waiting to let it go?

"Do what you can, Joshua. I know it's none of your business. But I can only entrust the search for him to you. Maybe his life will be in danger again if I ask someone else to do it. I have a lot of confidence in you, Joshua." Joshua just stared at his godfather and nodded. He couldn't deny it, especially since he owed so much to this person.

"Okay, Godfather. I will do everything I can to find your only nephew."

"Thank you, Joshua. You never let me down, I'm so lucky to have you." He stood up and grabbed Joshua's shoulder.

After their talk, his godfather took him to a car show.

"New cars are nice these days aren't they!" Leo said to Joshua.

"Yes, Godfather. You'll be even more handsome if that's your car."

He laughed at what Joshua said.

"I used to be stronger when I was with chiks," he joked so Joshua just laughed. He turned to the red car and there was a woman standing there who was very sexy and beautiful.

"She's beautiful isn't she!" Leo promised.

"Yes, godfather. That's fine with you," Joshua replied, referring to the car.

"Not a car, Joshua. I mean a model. Is she pretty right?" it still smiled, which is why Joshua turned to the woman he was referring to.

"She looks like a poor woman," he said as his godfather laughed even more. He walked away from the car again and moved to another car.

"You are too honest with your girlfriend, Joshua. I like that, right? But that model is attractive, huh? I want that car so take it. Change your car, because the model is quite old." Joshua was surprised by what his godfather said. It surprised him again.

"Ha-ha-ha. Godfather, my car is still fine. I was still coming home and I rarely stepped on it."

"I am your godfather, and since you are one of the hardest workers I am happy to buy you a present. So accept that, because I know it will help you find my nephew better." Joshua stopped walking.

"Godfather... you don't have to-" Joshua stopped speaking when his godfather spoke again.

"Leave me alone, Joshua. Just accept what I give because I know it will help you more. But I have a request for you. That model standing there, it's more fun for others to taste it just once..."

After saying that, he laughed and walked away from her. He just shook his head, because of his godfather's joking. Even though he's old, he's also funny, that's why he likes his attitude so much.

His godfather believed that he would buy the car that he liked. That's why his car was new the next day. His girlfriend Alisha went to his office again.

"Hi soon to be a CEO, how is your work?" Joshua smiled at the arrival of his girlfriend. They haven't seen each other for a few days because he is busy with work. Especially now that his work has increased, it seems like it's hard to keep up with everyone.

"Babe! It's good that you came to visit, I'm sorry if I didn't come to your dinner last night. I couldn't leave because I was with Ninong Leo at the car show." Joshua explained to his fiancee. Alisha came closer and sat on his lap.

"It's okay, babe. I know that your work is important to you. And shame on Uncle Leo. You are the only one he trusts here in the company, that's why I understand why you didn't come last night. So were you able to say goodbye to him when you left work?"

Joshua was stunned by Alisha's question. He will fail his lover again because he was not able to say goodbye to her.

"Babe, I'm sorry. I can't time it yet! He still has me work."

"What? So you mean our marriage will really take a long time? What are you doing babe, I know your work is important to you... but I hope you thought that there are things you should prioritize as well. If you become the CEO of the company, you will be even busier here and I know it will be harder for you to give me time. how about us What about our dreams?" Alisha said.

"Sorry babe, when I finish what he is making me work on. That's when I will inform him of my leave. I hope you can give me a little more time..." Joshua begged Alisha but it was like a child who couldn't get through a little plea.

He stood up and faced her. "I know that your work is important to you. But I hope even now... put our future first, Joshua." Tearfully, he turned his back and left his office. He would have remained silent but he walked out ahead of him. He just sighed and sat back in his chair. He suddenly grabbed his forehead, thinking that he couldn't get time to take leave.

He also lost his will to work. So that night he went to the bar to pass the time. He rarely goes to the bar because he is really busy with work, but now he needs to pass the trouble so he will drink at least a little.

Loud and deafening the screams of young people happily dancing and accompanying the sound of music. That's better for his mind otherwise he sat down at the empty table and ordered a beer. But while waiting for the beer he noticed the woman dancing in the middle of the dance. It was surrounded by young men and almost all of them were very happy to dance with him.

Joshua frowned because that girl was familiar. He wondered for a moment where he had seen the woman, so when he remembered the car show he shook his head.

"Tsk! Women are really different today." Instead of approaching, Joshua was able to observe the dancing woman. Because it used to be so strong that he only felt it now. Later there was an argument between the young people who were dancing and vying for the girl to dance. He noticed that the woman seemed to be drunk that's why she was willing to be rude to the men. And because of the two men getting heated, Joshua noticed that a man called for back-up, so his companions stood still drinking on the side. He immediately felt concern for the woman who was no longer in her mood. But he hesitated to help her because he might be empathized with the quarrel of the young people.

But a few seconds ago he couldn't stand it anymore. He immediately approached the woman who was still dancing even though the men were fighting in front of her. He quickly pulled the woman and because she was drunk she was able to follow him. He was annoyed with the woman because she didn't even have a little self-respect left. He is really rude in his appearance and what he does in life. Yes, he was annoyed, but he couldn't bear to hurt the girl. He immediately dragged the woman outside and when they were outside he asked her.

"Where's your house and I'll take you to the taxi!" he asked the woman annoyed but her eyes were just looking somewhere. He couldn't talk properly because he was swaying like he was sleepy.

"Damn it! Is that what an unpaid woman is like? Too self-absorbed?!" he said annoyed. It fell into his chest so he immediately caught it so it wouldn't fall. That's why he picked her up and was forced to put her in his car.

While in the car, Joshua turns to the woman who is drunk. He didn't know where to take him home, so he decided to rest at home. Maybe someone will recognize him when he brings it to his hotel, and since he doesn't have a maid at home, he can't clean his guess rooms. He took her to her room first and let her rest on her bed. He even shook his head when he saw the drunk woman up close. It's simple today, no make-up but wearing a short dress. It's true that she's naturally beautiful, so he noticed a bump in her eye that he guessed was from crying.
