Chapter 5 She Lies Badly

"I am sick Ashton " Emily finally said her face twisting into a sad expression

Ashton's brown eyes widened in horror as he had just received the news that the world was ending. She almost dimmed it sweet if she didn't know just how crazy the other was. Could it be that he wasn't fully mentally stable?

" sick? What... happened? What kind of sickness?" His hands nervously came to rest on her shoulders

Emily took in a deep breath as her eyes shone with deep pain and she even managed to blink out some tears ( who said she was bad at acting?)

" I..." Her bottom lip wobbled " I have STD "

" What!?" If Ashton had looked horrified before now he looked mortified

She couldn't help feeling smug on the inside. Heh..gotcha!

" b..back in high school, I ...I had once taken a route back home through an alley. T..there I encountered some .....some boys who...who took advantage of me!~sob sob" she was crying so pitifully now " l..later on, I grew the courage to tell my parents but it was too late! The boys had disappeared from the country. I learned from my family doctor later that I had contracted an STD sob!"

Ashton seemed frozen in shock as she threw herself into his embrace while weeping

" t..this was why I had to break up with you.." sniff sniff..." I couldn't bear to drag you into my dirty life Ash, I love you too much" sob!

" I...I "

" I understand now if you don't love me anymore, but know that my heart will always be with you" sob!

She had acted the part so convincingly that Emily wanted to give herself a pat on the back. Hah if she had known she was so good at acting she would have been an actress! What the hell was managing heh? Ha ha

Ashton was shaking in her arms, Emily wouldn't have been surprised if he was crying too. Imagine how victorious and joyful she felt when he pulled himself away from her

" I...I h..have to go" his eyes were watery and his face was flushed red. One more push and he would hug

" Ashton ~ kiss me" Emily made to lean toward him but the boy was already running out of the restroom before she could even blink

She stared at the restroom door for a couple of seconds but Ashton didn't come back. She couldn't help feeling like she had just won a war or something

Yippee!!

She hadn't even gotten the chance to bath in her joy when the loud sound of flushing water sounded through the entire restroom making her body freeze

One of the stall doors was pushed open and a handsome male with red-tinted hair stepped out. Emily's jaw fell wide open

It was common knowledge that aside from Vaughn Mcoy CEO of the Mcoy corporation, there was no other person in the movie industry who was more influential than Austin Bloom!

The incredibly good-looking Austin who was also only second to Vaughn in looks was clad in an expensive black Tux which contrasted with his bright red hair and red eyes. He had a very bored expression on his face and he only took one glance at her before heading to the sink to wash his hands

Emily felt extremely glad to be invincible and carefully made to tiptoe her way out of the restroom

" did you think it was appropriate to lie to your boyfriend like that?"

She froze in her steps and turn back to look at the person's back. He was looking at her through the mirror and his red eyes seem to narrow down on her as if just noticing her existence

" he's not my boyfriend and what makes you think am lying?!"

She knew she was lying but she didn't need Austin pointing it out. She did what she had to do okay!

" Only a fool would fall for such low-rated acting"

" huh?!!"

" But since you put so much effort into it, I'll reward you by starring you in one of my productions" Austin grinned at her causing his already stunning face to be even more breathtaking

" Who the hell Say's I would be interested in something like that?! Am not an actress!"

" it was pretty obvious "

The nerve of this guy! What did he think? Just because he was the second-ranked male actor in the US didn't mean he can step on her acting skills!

She turned on her heels to leave casting one last heated glare at Austin's smiling face before pulling the restroom door open only to walk directly into a hard chest

" oww! "

Rubbing at her sore nose Emily looked up to glare at the person she had run into only for her body to freeze in horror on meeting familiar cold black eyes

Vaughn?!

Just what luck did she have today?!

"M...Mr. Mcoy?" Emily felt a bit uneasy seeing this person here, hadn't he been sitting with Mr. Williamson,? How come he was standing in front of the lady's restroom?

But then again her mind had wandered back to Austin who was still inside and then Ashton who had followed her in without hesitation, was it the lady's room

For some reason, she didn't even need to raise her head to take a peek at the sign above the door. Trusting her bad luck today it was assured that in her haste to escape Ashton she had mistakenly stepped into the male restroom and Austin hadn't even bothered to mention it. If someone had seen imagine what the news would be

'A stalker fan girl secretly hides in the male restrooms to stalk Austin Bloom!'

Ah so embarrassing! She might have as well committed suicide

" Miss West" Vaughn simply acknowledged her in a flat voice. His expression was very much stoic but his eyes seemed to darken a bit, it was the exact expression one would have upon seeing something irrelevant. It made her feel relieved, hah it seemed Vaughn didn't put her in his eyes, then what was she worrying herself over before

Emily's smile widened as she now stared at the movie emperor in a pleasant mood. " it's good to see you"

Vaughn still stared at her rather blankly " hm"

" It seems it was not my hallucination, it truly is director Mcoy"

She was startled when Austin's voice sounded behind her. Emily hadn't even realized when the actor had moved to stand so close to her. He didn't pay her mind though as his eyes were fixed on Vaughn and he had a friendly smile on his face

" Director Austin"

"It's a rare sight to see director Mcoy in such a formal gathering"

" same goes"

Emily moved to walk away, who else in the entertainment industry didn't know that Vaughn and Austin had a good relationship despite having once been rivals? They had even attended the same film academy and constantly put their hands together to produce films. How could a lowly person like her possibly stand between this two's conversations? Wasn't it better to sneak off while she still can?

" Miss West, could it be that you are going somewhere?" of course, she should have expected the bastard Austin to not let her go off so soon. He must have sensed her discomfort earlier and was trying to create an uncomfortable situation for her

" I..the party must have started, my sister would probably be looking for me"

" Am sure Scarlet won't mind. I was just about to tell director Mcoy about your great acting potential" Austin smiled pleasantly gesturing her over

" Am... Am not that good at acting. Nowhere good enough to be called potential" Emily began to panic

Austin laughed waving a dismissive hand " Miss West is too modest. When one lies and it comes out so convincing what else is there if not potential"

She opened her mouth to say something but in the end not a sound came out. She didn't know just what the hell Austin was trying to do!

" It seems you two are well acquainted " Vaughn stated his gaze flicking from Austin to herself

" of course!" Austin beamed with a pleasant smile " we were acquainted way back before I even debuted. Don't you remember Miss West? That time you slipped in the cafe and spilled coffee on me? "

Emily frowned. Was it that Austin still remembered that incident? Five years have already passed, could it be that this guy was still holding a grudge?! Unbelievable!

" I'll take my leave now" she simply turned on her heels and disappeared down the corridor

Austin laughed. Heh it was too easy to tease

" director Mcoy, how about an appearance in my new film?" Austin turned to propose but he didn't expect Vaughn to have such a scary expression

" maybe next time" Vaughn didn't even glance at him again when he turned and left
