Chapter 2 Previous Alpha

The previous Alpha is dead two days ago, a new one has to be replaced. Who will be the next Alpha? Of course that's Poldark most strongest wolf...

Loreen... Loreen Hale.

Unlike most choose alpha's who most times kill an alpha before they can become an alpha but that wasn't for Loreen.

He was totally different, and when I say ' totally different, ' I meant he doesn't have to kill an alpha to become one.

He was prone to anger and had this aggressive nature which made him always react to things around him.

Which of course, has to do with the red eyes he posses.

But the question is ... will he accept when he's got a business to handle? He's just the kind who prefers his business over to anything.

What kind of alpha will he make when nothing else mattered to him?

Nevertheless, he has to.. cos that's his rightful position.

Amongst every other wolf-shifter packs, podack has always been the number one.

It's very difficult to wage a war against them yet, come out successfully.

And now they needed a new leader, a leader just like the others.

I was hating the way I'm sitting my ass here over the same discussion we've been having since morning.

Why am I even listening to this? I should probably be at my office and not here.

I'm the next Alpha of my pack, I know but they're making it look like an election.

So, I kept listening to them as they argued and talked about this case like it was something worth dying for.

It's all like a movie to me as I stared at them one by one, and they seem not to have noticed my look.

Until he spoke with finality, " We will find no one else, he must be the next Alpha. " Alex, my uncle announced.

I smirked, " Loreen? " He called, " Why are you smiling? "

" Nothing, it's really nothing. "

" So, what do you say about it? " He asked.

" Well, I've heard all you have said and... " I paused, then continued. " I accept to be the next alpha. "

The next set of candidates arrived and after a period of settlement, the training finally begun.

I somehow was expecting much of difficult training where you have to train like soldiers and become as slim as a broom stick.

But it was more of advanced practices compared to that my parents had taught me.

We learnt more about the werewolves, their histories and about their capabilities.

Things they can do and can not, what they love and what they hated the most.

They are the fastest creatures I've ever heard, sensitive to things around their environment and aggressive at killing their preys.

We were also told about their hideouts, one of which is known much to my family ... The Poldark pack.

" You said your family has been hunters for centuries right? " Lina asked and I nodded my head, " What are they like? " She opened the book in her hand, flipping to a page which she pointed at me. " Like this? "

I was staring at an image of a half wolf and a half human rowling under a full moon.

" Yes, "

" I heard that not all are actually half human too. So, what are we after, hybrids or just the single breeded wolves? "

" Both. " I said, " Although they share different history, but they are all still the same. In my family, we hunt down any kind. We heard about the much population of wolves in Chicago and that's another reason why I came here. "

" Some are romantic too. " Jessica chipped in as soon as she entered the room, sitting beside Lina. " I've read books about them. Good ones always finds a mate and so does the bad ones, sometimes though. "

" Jessica you are not serious. " Lina said, staring surprised at her. " How can you say this, " she said, pointing at the picture, " is romantic? "

" That's just a picture of one of them, Lina. Who knows if that's the bad ones? " She said with a shrug.

" I can't believe you. Don't tell me you came here all because you want to meet one of those super-cutie-hot alpha's because you've read so much about them ?" I chuckled.

" Of course not. " She frowned. " I'm only saying what I read. "

I couldn't stop from laughing, this two are really funny. Since the day, I haven't stopped laughing at their funny arguements and their just the kind to hang out with.

And we were much closer to each other than the others. Not that we don't talk to the rest of the candidates, but I just prefer them to anyone else.

" Where do you get such book, I need to read one of them. " Lina said, adjusting herself that she was now facing Jessica completely.

" I always bought them back then in college. And most times, I borrow from friends or I just read them directly from the internet. "

" Can you remember their names? I mean the interesting ones. "

" No, I read a lot so I can't remember which is more interesting. Don't tell me you're becoming so anxious about them all of a sudden? "

" Why would I ever be? Trust me sis, I hate reading novels. So, " she said, adjusting herself back to me. " where were we? "

" My dad always taught me that the easiest way to kill a wolf is by passing a dagger or a silver bullet right through its chest. "

" Guess it's allergic to silver, right? " She asked.

" Yes, and sometimes, they seem to have a weakness too. " Jesse added.

" Weakness, like what? " I asked.

She shrugged, " A mate. Like I said, the good ones always ends up with a happy ending. So, their enemies tends to get them through their weakness, because that seems to be the easiest way. "

" But how can we find their weakness, we can't go around asking, are we? " Lina asked.

" Why would you think of asking around? " She asked.

" Because you said that's the easiest way to find them? "

" You'll only end up looking like an escaped psycho, trust me. I learnt their mates most times hang around with them. "

" Look, Jesse, those are just stories. " Lina finalized. " And they probably don't make any sense at all. "

" Which are most times real. " She concluded.
