Chapter 1 Betrayal

People were coming and going in the corridor of a hospital.

Randall Carter knelt down in front of a doctor and burst into tears.

"Your right hand has a nerve injury. If you don't pay one hundred thousand dollars for the treatment, it will be completely necrotic within a week."

The doctor's cold words pierced into Randall's heart.

One hundred thousand dollars for medical treatment was undoubtedly a huge amount of money for a college student who went to school on student loan.

His adoptive parents had run out of money in order to support him to go to school. Moreover, a few months ago, they had unexpectedly disappeared when raising tuition for him.

Now he only had ten dollars left.

"One hundred thousand dollars, one hundred thousand dollars," Randall murmured.

Thinking of this number, Randall felt a deep despair.

He looked down at his disabled right hand, feeling sad but unwilling to give up.

After more than ten years of hard study, he was finally admitted to Herdale Medical School. He was about to graduate and become a surgeon, which could change the living conditions of himself and his family.

But he didn't expect that he would fall into the abyss because of an accident.

"No, I must cure my right hand. This is my promise to my father and sister!" Randall said, gritting his teeth.

He wiped his tears and stood up. He could give up all his dignity for the sake of his family.

He called his uncle first.

A man shouted impatiently as soon as the phone was connected.

"You brat came to ask for money again. Didn't you borrow two hundred dollars from me last time? I don't have any money left. Don't ever call me again!"

"Uncle, please lend me one hundred thousand dollars. After I find a job, I will pay you back double, no, triple!"

At this time, his aunt's impatient voice sounded. "What are you talking about with this disabled and worthless man? His right hand is disabled. He can only collect trash for the rest of his life. When can he pay back one hundred thousand dollars?"

"Auntie!" Before Randall could finish his words, the phone was hung up.

Then, Randall shamelessly called other relatives, but all of them hung up when they heard Randall wanted to borrow money.

They even warned Randall not to call them again, or they would call the police to arrest him.

Randall, who was distressed in his heart, gritted his teeth and dialed his girlfriend Tonya Burton's number.

Although he was reluctant to ask her for help, he was confident that she would lend him money.

Three days ago, Randall and Tonya went to a bar to have a drink.
