Chapter 6 The party!

''Baby! Happy Birthday!'' Paula jumped into his arms. ''Thank you. Aren't you supposed to be at the party?'' asked Diego. ''Yeah but I had to wake you up sleepy head!'' she teased him. ''Lol chill. I'm the birthday king here I come last to take the center of attention well unless...some people will want to come late,'' said Diego. Paula let out a little laugh. ''Or maybe they are just genuinely late.'' Paula laughed. ''Lols whatever.'' Diego joined her.

''Hey did you invite Sergio?'' Diego's eyes widened! Since when last did he hear that name? ''Sergio huh?'' ''Diego! Are you even listening to me?!'' Paula yelled. ''Yeah b*tch! What's the matter?!'' exclaimed Diego. ''B*tch? NO! I asked you a question and then you were like...'' he interrupted her. ''Uhh...yeah I think...I did! Why didn't you invite him?'' asked Diego. ''Because this is your party Diego! Or don't you trust me?'' asked Paula. Diego first stayed silent for a minute. ''Of course I do.'' But Paula wasn't satisfied.

''But I don't think he will be coming,'' said Diego, ''he said he was quite busy.'' ''Oh okay then see you at the party,'' said Paula. Diego knew she was now angry but he didn't have the energy to run after her. ''She will be fine,'' he sighed.

As for Juanita she had already bravely put on her cute or should I say hot outfit. But she was looking at the mirror countless times checking if she was alright. ''How do I look?'' she kept saying to herself. After finally making up her mind moving up and down the room she finally got her hot pink lipstick and put it on. Wow was this her? Not even Juanita could believe herself! She almost looked too hot now it was time for the eyebrows, eyelashes, this girl right here looked like a masterpiece!

Juanita walked to the living room in her very high heels approaching Isa and her mother. ''Wow sis! I don't even know what word to use. Honey you look amazing!'' Isa complemented her. ''Aww thanks sis,'' Juanita was grateful. ''Aww you look so hot you really planned for this party huh?'' her mother teased her. ''Mom!'' she screamed. Her mom laughed. ''I'm just kidding you look absolutely amazing dear,'' complimented her mom. ''Thanks mom. But are you sure?'' Juanita doubted them. ''Did you not look in the mirror? We are dead serious!'' exclaimed her mom. ''Mom I think we better get going,'' said Isa. ''Isa you are right dear! Alright guys go and enjoy yourselves!'' exclaimed mom. ''Good luck on your conference!'' Juanita and Isa both wished her good luck. ''Juanita?'' her mom called her back. ''Mom?'' she answered. ''Remember don't let Diego get to you there are more fish in the sea.'' Juanita and Isa burst out laughing. Their mom always had a way to turn any situation into something funny something you could laugh about although her comedy really meant something.

Juanita and Isa first met Renata at the mall. I guess they had to go shopping for one more thing. Just one more thing.

Diego walked in and everybody shouted, ''Happy Birthday Diego!'' including his girlfriend now that's a surprise! He expected her to still be angry at him but just wow she was cool with him. Francisco walked in with the cake with his cousin behind him. ''Well hello cousin!'' exclaimed Cedro. He came forward to hug his cousin. ''Happy birthday my pal!'' he added. Great! Cedro is here center of attention even if he wasn't the birthday boy.

A few minutes later they waited for the rest to arrive. Juanita had not yet arrived. ''Great! She won't be coming I knew it!'' exclaimed Diego. ''Hey bro let's just give her a few more minutes besides Isa is not yet here too,'' said Francisco. Diego just rolled his eyes. ''And who is this girl you are talking about? Is she your girlfriend Diego?'' asked Cedro. Diego was defeated by Cedro's question like he doesn't know who he's real girlfriend is.

''Alright we have waited long enough everybody the others will join us! So let's...'' before the mother could finish her statement they heard a knock on the door. To their surprise three beautiful girls entered and among them one looking unusually different. Juanita walked confidently with her sister and Renata her best friend in their cute outfits and pretty high heels. Juanita approached Diego. ''I believe this is yours!'' she handed him his presents. ''Happy Birthday Diego!'' she wished him. Seems Diego wasn't listening. He was staring at her like he had seen a ghost! Her hair was surprisingly long, smooth and free. It was probably his first time seeing her hair open. Her dress was surprisingly short quite different from the ones he's used to seeing her in. And oh! Let's not even get to the make up he avoided looking at her face. Her hot pink lipstick matched perfectly with her skin and brought her lips' perfect shape. ''You are...'' he didn't finish but instead changed it, ''I mean thank you.'' He cleared his throat. ''I will put it there with the other presents,'' he said.

When Diego came back he found Cedro had already started flirting with Juanita. ''This guy just takes anything he really doesn't have a type,'' he said to himself. ''I think he meant to say you are beautiful but for me I won't hesitate you know darling you are very attractive!'' he said. Diego rolled his eyes. ''You never cease to surprise me Cedro,'' said Diego as he came behind him. ''Oh cousin there you are! Oh this beautiful girl? You want her?'' asked Cedro. ''Not even! Don't all girls look beautiful in make up?'' asked Diego. ''Even on your birthday you such a jerk Diego!'' exclaimed Isa. She didn't care the fact that it was his birthday he was still the same jerk face to his sister. ''Come Juanita let's just go,'' Angel took her hand. Juanita was also calm she was not in the mood of fighting with Diego.

''Wow man you such a jerk! Like whatsupp?'' asked Cedro. ''Shut up! Don't act like you are better we all know you like to be the center of attention.'' Diego told him off. Cedro let out a little laugh. ''Look Diego. No need to be jealous. If I'm more better than you or if girls find me hotter it's not my fault! I'm just built for greatness.'' Cedro burst out laughing. ''But seriously why you gotta do like that to the poor girl?'' asked Cedro. ''She is lame end of story!'' exclaimed Diego.

The rest of the party continued. As for Juanita she tried to avoid Diego as much as she can. Until they were stuck in some type of cave creepy game and Juanita had to now stick with Diego. ''Damn it's really dark in here,'' Juanita trembled. ''Pretty much the only thing I can see is your lips,'' said Diego. She gave him some type of look. ''Well then switch on your phone or something for light,'' she told him. ''Why? Are you scared?'' he asked her. ''Well no but we are in total darkness. And you creepy me out when you say...'' before she could finish he interrupted her by brushing his finger over her lips slightly. ''You like it don't you? And your lips cute,'' said Diego. She pushed his finger away. ''Like eww,'' said Juanita in disgust, ''Diego are you sure you are okay?'' asked Juanita. He let out a little laugh.

''You are so hilarious Juanita! We have our differences but you know you wish I was yours...'' he whispered in her ear. At that moment Paula approached them. They quickly separated from each other. ''There you are! Diego, Juanita is that you?'' she asked. Juanita's heart was racing! Imagine if she found them in that situation what then? Or did she even see them? ''Yeah baby it's us where is your partner?'' asked Diego. ''Argh I don't even know I lost him! Oh wow so surprised that you two are still together? Thought you would be lost already!'' exclaimed Paula. Diego laughed. Now that was a surprise! Even to Juanita. The one moment he decides not to criticise her. ''No I guess we sticked together,'' said Juanita. ''Wow Juanita! That's great! I told you he's not that bad...'' said Paula. Juanita instead looked down. She couldn't face her and she didn't know what to say. She knows his parents forced him to invite her so they can make peace but will they ever make peace really?

''Okay back to find my partner byeee!'' Paula wished them bye and left. Juanita breathed out and relaxed again. ''That was so close!'' Juanita yelled at Diego. ''What were you thinking?!'' she added. ''Oo someone looks scared! You are scared for my girlfriend to find out huh?'' Diego teased her. ''To find out what?'' she asked him feeling so confused. He laughed. ''Oh I don't know,'' said Diego, ''maybe because you have a little thing for me...'' She rolled her eyes. ''Let's just go! Running rocks ahead your party is crazy!'' exclaimed Juanita. ''Come on you know you like it but I didn't entirely plan it myself,'' said Diego. She rolled her eyes. ''Whatever let's just go we have to do this together. Come hold my hand!'' she said to him. Instead he put his hand on his chin. ''Oh I see so you want to feel my hand?'' asked Diego. ''Diego damn it! I will leave you here!'' she yelled at him. ''Girl please. I'm more skilled and braver than you so I'm the one who will leave you behind lol,'' he laughed.

She just pulled his hand and they ran forward. It was a long run till they reached the water. ''Wow it's beautiful,'' said Juanita in admiration. ''Hell yeah! Are you ready?'' he asked her. ''For?'' asked Juanita before he could answer a small boat came by and they jumped in and sailed out. ''Here we are! Come on I think we are the first ones no one is here quick let's grab our flag!''

To their surprise they found Cedro and Renata waiting for them outside. ''Oh hey! And surprise!'' Cedro shocked them. ''Oh.'' Diego's response came in disappointment. ''You should see your faces!'' Renata burst out laughing. ''Sorry kids but technically we won!'' exclaimed Cedro. ''Well I guess....congratulations then!'' said Juanita. ''Aww Juanita thanks. But if you really want to win then we can swap partners. Diego can take Renata and I can take you what do you think? I really don't mind,'' said Cedro. Diego gave him a mean stare. He was now starting...

Renata gave some kind of strange look. It seems she didn't want to be with Diego either. ''Now come on! Juanita come!'' Cedro called her. ''Why don't we do this? If it's like that why don't we entirely swap positions we can let them win and we can come second place,'' Renata suggested. ''No homie I see what you are doing there I see,'' Cedro laughed, ''but I want to for sure win!'' he added. He winked at Juanita. What was this guy up to? ''Hey Juanita I have a surprise for you,'' said Cedro. ''A surprise for me? But this is Diego's party! It's supposed to be his surprise,'' said Juanita. ''Very well said Juanita.'' Diego smiled. ''But come with me I promise you won't regret it!'' Cedro took Juanita by hand. ''But...'' before Juanita could finish Cedro ran away with her.

''Hey! Cedro come back here!!!'' Diego yelled. ''We have to catch up to them! Where is he taking her?'' asked Diego. ''And why do you care? You hate Juanita!'' exclaimed Renata. ''Yeah but I don't trust that guy...come on!'' He ran with Renata and they followed them to the hotel.

By the time they reached the door was closed. ''Juanita! Juanita are you okay? Juanita!'' Diego screamed her name whilst banging the door.
