Chapter 3 Inviting Juanita

At Diego's house...

They were discussing Diego's birthday that was coming up soon. ''Cheer up Diego! Your birthday is coming up soon aren't you excited?'' his mother asked him. ''Maybe,'' Diego replied. ''Why now? You are always excited for your birthdays or aren't you having a party this year?'' asked mom. ''Are you kidding me? Of course I am! I just met someone...'' said Diego. ''Oh? Have you met our new neighbors yet? How are they?'' asked mom. ''Well definitely who I expected,'' said Diego. ''Oh so it's someone you know?'' asked mom. ''Well not necessarily.'' He denied it. His mind shifted to Juanita. Imagine her coming to his party? That would be so weird. And he knows his mom she will now want to invite their neighbors.

''You are probably lieying,'' his father snapped him out of his thoughts. ''It's definitely someone you know. Then why would you look worried or something?'' asked his dad. ''Dad I'm telling you! I guess it's just strange to be in a new area and why would I be worried?'' Diego pretended to laugh. ''Diego I can literally tell that that was just a pretend laugh,'' said his dad. ''No I'm serious.'' Diego tried convincing him. ''Diego tell us right now!'' his father demanded. Diego sighed. ''Okay fine. I saw Juanita!'' he finally let it out. There was silence for a minute...

''Oh Juanita so she's our neighbor? How cool! You must invite her,'' said his mom. ''Must?'' asked Diego. ''Of course why not? You promised to stop your bullying business with her Diego. Just because you think she's weaker than you or different to the girls you are used to doesn't give you a right to bully her,'' said his mom. ''Mom please! I didn't even bully her this time! We just met by surprise then she started her drama with me!'' exclaimed Diego. ''Oh so she can stand up to you now? Congratulations to her!'' Angel finally spoke. Diego rolled his eyes. ''So Angel you only speak now to criticise me?'' Diego was now pissed. ''Cheer up bro and invite the girl to your party! She's a nice girl and you might think she's boring but such girls are really interesting even much more better than the ones that boys are used to. I wonder why most boys like some crazy girls that don't even make sense,'' his brother commented. ''Okay great! So now you are all pestering me to invite her?'' asked Diego. ''Exactly that! We want to see if you have really stopped bullying her. Can't wait!'' said his dad.

Diego left the table. He banged his room door as he got in! This is the thing he was trying to avoid! He didn't want Juanita at his party at all! What will she even do? Will she even come? He fell on the bed. ''But damn I hate her new attitude!'' he muttered to himself. But luckily a few minutes later his girlfriend came in. ''Baby!'' she ran to him. Kissed him on the cheek. ''I missed you darling! Why do you look so down?'' asked Paula. ''Don't worry it's nothing,'' Diego lied. ''Just you have been so busy these days how have you been?'' Diego asked her. Instead of answering the question she shot him with another question. ''But baby have you not seen my new outfit? I bought it especially for you. You don't even compliment me!'' she complained. Diego covered his face with his hand.

''Okay fine you are beautiful sexy prettiest girl in the world what exactly do you want me to say? The same old things? I always tell you this!'' Diego bursted out. Paula turned away from him. She looked emotional. Diego sighed deeply then went by her side with his arm around her shoulder. ''Look. I'm sorry I'm not being myself today. It's just this whole thing of inviting Juanita to my party,'' said Diego. ''Wait what? You saw Juanita again?'' asked Paula. ''Unfortunately yes! And now my whole family wants me to invite her to my party! She's my new neighbor.'' Diego sighed. ''Oh so sorry but she's not that bad.'' Paula gave a fake smile.

Diego just brought her closer to himself. His hand around her waist he slowly kissed her on the forehead putting one strip of hair behind her ear. Then slowly down to her neck. Slowly his lips moved to her lips and he kissed her slowly and softly. Paula enjoying kissed him back.

After a few minutes she broke the kiss. ''So what about your issue with Juanita?'' Paula brought back the topic. ''Don't worry about it I got this,'' said Diego. Diego moved closer and they continued kissing.

Juanita busy chilling with her sister and friends got a message on whatsapp from an unknown number. Finally she opened and checked she had got a few messages. ''Hey. I have something important to tell you please come it's an emergency!'' Juanita replied them. ''Who are you? And why do you want to meet me?'' Finally after she replied them Diego's picture appeared on the contact. ''What?'' Juanita yelled out. ''What? What's wrong?'' asked Isa. But Juanita got more messages. ''Come on Juanita please come it's really an emergency. I won't hurt you.'' She showed her phone to her sister. ''So he wants to meet you?'' asked Isa. '''Yeah! And I don't even know how he got my number! But one thing I don't trust him,'' said Juanita. ''Yeah me too. And what does he mean by he won't hurt you?'' asked Isa. ''I don't know Isa but I don't trust him. This is a trick maybe for one of his funny jokes!'' exclaimed Juanita. ''But you never know. Maybe he really has something important to say. Be brave and go but if he starts his funny jokes again just call me I won't be far. I will go with you but stop somewhere and you go completely to him,'' said Isa. ''But are you sure about this Isa?'' asked Juanita. ''Don't worry Juanita you got this,'' said Isa.

Juanita bravely went to meet Diego. His back was facing her so she tapped him so he can turn around. ''Oh Juanita I'm glad you are...'' before he finished his eyes fell to her legs because she was wearing a short. It was too short well the way he's used to Juanita wearing. ''What?'' Juanita noticed the surprise in his eyes and his continuous staring at her. ''Umm nothing. I meant...'' instead he gave her the invitation. ''Please come!'' he added. ''Huh? What? Look Diego I'm not in the mood for your funny jokes!'' Juanita bursted out. ''Huh? So you come here with your attitude! I was calm but you see these days you are the one starting me! Trust me if it was my choice I wouldn't invite you I don't even want you there!'' Diego yelled. ''But unfortunately my whole family wants to see you there,'' Diego sighed. ''Oh? And why do they want to see me there?'' asked Juanita. ''What? Are you kidding me? All parents are like that. They say she's a nice girl Diego just invite her.'' Diego explained to her. ''Oh I see.'' Juanita didn't know what else to say.

''You see sh*t! So will you come or not?'' asked Diego. ''You will see,'' Juanita answered. This annoyed Diego even more but instead of Juanita being scared she was enjoying it. ''Tell me!'' Diego demanded. ''Who are you?'' she asked him. ''Excuse me?!'' Diego realised what he had just done eyes turned looking at him. Juanita gave a fake smile. Diego rolled his eyes. He lowered his voice. ''Look just come okay? And please try and wear something sexy maybe some guy will try and look at you.'' Diego burst out laughing. ''You are right if that's what you want,'' said Juanita. ''Huh?'' Diego was shocked by her response. ''Bye Diego. Thanks for the invitation!'' she went.

Diego stood there watching her leave. ''What ever happened to this girl?'' he thought to himself. First the mini short now the attitude? Something was not right somewhere.
