Chapter 9 Get a job

When Clara woke up the next day, her face was very bad. Clara looked at herself in the mirror, eyes swollen from crying, and stayed up all night. She knows that she can't be too emotional. It's not good for the child in the womb.

After bathing, she took White into the yard for a few laps of running, fed him dog food, changed clothes, and headed out.

When she came to the bakery again, the clerk seemed to recognize her and was still packing a new loaf of bread for Clara.

She sat on a bench by the roadside, ate the bread slowly, and then drank the whole milk she had just bought.

After eating, it's time to start looking for work.

This time the target was to go to the nearest big mall to see if she could find a job.

She was very lucky indeed. She found a pizzeria and applied for a part-time job. Three hundred dollars for five hours a day was fine, but when there wasn't enough staff, she needed to help deliver food.

After a successful interview, she walked out of the pizza shop.

Clara couldn't stop her excitement and stepped into a children's clothing store for the first time.

When the three female shop assistants saw Clara's shabby appearance, they immediately lost their patience to serve. Everyone quietly acted as if they hadn't seen the girl and wandered around the shop with her.

When she lost the child two years ago, she did not have time to buy new beautiful clothes, but God had mercy on her and gave her a new life. So, she wanted to do her best to raise this child well.

Clara looked at the boy's clothes and touched them. The fabric is very nice, soft, and comfortable. She picked up a small light blue t-shirt and asked the female clerk sitting in front of the cashier if she still had any other colors.

The female officer glanced at her casually, then continued to play with the cell phone with her head lowered, "No, there is only one piece. Be careful not to touch it, and the clothes are very expensive. You may not be able to pay for it."

Her tone was full of sarcasm.

Clara isn't stupid. She immediately understood that. She grabbed the price tag on the clothes and saw that it was very expensive. It was so expensive that she put the clothes back in their place and timidly walked out of the shop.

Walking and looking back at the children's clothing store, she quietly told herself that she had to work hard to make money and save money so as not to make her child suffer.

Due to family circumstances, Clara only went to high school, and she couldn't find a good job if she didn't have a high degree. So, as long as she could earn money, what did she have to be afraid of?

Their home is in a nice area of downtown New York, and their home is in an expensive luxury area with beautiful views and fresh air.

Clara knew that her account balance was running low and that she could save as much as possible. After all, it wasn't too far, so she walked home instead.

Walking down the street near a supermarket, she saw many empty bottles and cardboard boxes next to the trash can.

Suddenly her mind started racing. She approached the trash can, and when no one was there, she bent down and picked up a large plastic bag, then picked up the empty bottles one by one and threw them in the plastic, then grabbed the cardboard boxes, folded them up, and put them in the box big plastic together.

Soon, a big bag full of produce. She couldn't wait to rush to the nearest garbage collection station with a big bag of fruits.

Clara was a stranger to the streets of New York, but she was very familiar with the neighborhood near home. She knows where there is good food and where there is fun.

Fifty dollars is the result of selling the items taken.

She carefully folded the fifty dollars into her pocket and passed the bakery on her return.

The bakery sorted out some of the remaining cakes and bread, all of which were thrown in the trash. Clara felt sorry for seeing that. She smiled and asked the cute female attendant standing at the door why did they throw away the bread?

The female attendant replied that it was yesterday's cake and bread that should have been thrown away earlier, but yesterday they were too busy to throw it away, so that she would throw it away today.

Clara shyly asked if she could bring some to take home to eat.

The female officer was a little surprised at first. After all, everyone who could live here was rich or well off. She didn't expect this beautiful woman to want yesterday's leftover cake and bread.

Previously when she came to pick up the bread, she only thought that she just wanted to taste the taste. After all, rich people don't care about such small details.

Clara was embarrassed by the female attendant staring at her, raised her head in shame, and scratched it, ready to leave.

The female attendant stopped Clara politely. After that, she went in and didn't stay out for long. She gave Clara a big bag full of cakes and bread and told her that finishing them in three days was best.

Clara thanked her and walked home excitedly with cake and bread.

She was very lucky today. She had money, a job, and bread to eat.

Clara felt that today she was too happy. When she got home, she changed her slippers, took some bread, and sat on the sofa watching TV.

She saw the scandalous photo of her husband and a woman on the TV screen again.

White quietly walked towards Clara's feet, wagging his tail and licking obediently.

She's used to it. Over the past year, how many scandals have arisen at any time? From shock and heartache.

Half a month has passed, and there is still another half month. If Hadrian had kept saying he didn't love Clara, then she would have left the house in peace, and she would have been separated from then on.

She must now learn that there is no future for herself and Hadrian.
