Chapter 5 Agreement

Celia returned to her rented apartment with mixed feelings. She rushed to the bathroom and immediately took a hot shower.

She looked at the marks all over her body. And when she remembered what had happened last night, her face burned.

She hoped that after today, this matter would be completely forgotten. If only she could erase everything.

After taking a shower, she planned to go out to buy contraceptives.

Everything happened so suddenly last night that she didn't get the chance to take any contraceptives. If she got pregnant, her life would really be ruined.

But as soon as she opened the door, she saw Adrien standing outside.

"What are you doing here?" Celia asked in confusion.

Since she moved out, she seldom contacted anyone of the Kanes. She also didn't tell Adrien her address, so she didn't expect him to find her.

And he even had several bodyguards with him.

Adrien didn't answer her question. Instead, he asked, "Why didn't you get married yesterday? Where are the driver and bodyguard who sent you there? We haven't found them yet. What did you do to them?"

Celia sneered coldly.

He still dared to ask her?

"I don't know, and I don't want to marry Mr. Shaw."

Adrien got angry and anxious at the same time. "The Shaw family came to us early in the morning, blaming us and asking for an explanation. I lied to them that something went wrong on the road, so they gave us one more day. If you don't marry him, the entire Kane Group will be ruined. Our family will be over. Do you know that?"

Seeing that Adrien was sweating profusely, Celia replied coldly, "I know. But sorry, I'm not a holy saint. They want your daughter, and that's Cerissa. Why should I take Cerissa's place?I will never be a substitute bride. Excuse me, I have to go out."

After her mother's death, Adrien was in a hurry to take his mistress Mabel and his illegitimate daughter Cerissa back to their home. And she, his legitimate daughter, was forced to move out.

Adrien turned a blind eye to her for so many years. But now, he wanted her to sacrifice her happiness to save the company? He must be dreaming!

Celia was about to go out, but Adrien stretched out his hand and stopped her. The sapphire ring between his fingers shone brightly in the sun.

"You're looking for this, right?" he directly asked.

Actually, he deliberately set up a trap for Celia. He knew that she had been looking for this sapphire ring.

This ring belonged to Jenifer, Celia's mother. He accidentally found it in the safe and thought it was valuable, so he kept it.

Celia looked at Adrien in shock.

Before her mother died, she asked Celia to find this ring. Celia didn't expect that it was in Adrien's hands. No wonder she couldn't find this very important thing after rummaging through her mother's belongings.

Before Celia could answer, Adrien continued, "As long as you are willing to marry into the Shaw family for your sister, I will give you this ring after five days."

This time, Celia wavered.

She didn't want to be a pawn at the mercy of others. But getting the ring back was her mother's last wish. Her mother had emphasized over and over again before she passed away that the sapphire ring must be found.

Although Celia didn't know why her mother cared so much about the ring, as a daughter, she couldn't ignore her mother's last wish.

Thinking of her mother's persistent expression upon mentioning the sapphire ring, Celia finally compromised.

"Okay, I agree to marry him." After saying this, she gritted her teeth, closed her eyes, and clenched her fists.
