Chapter 8 Jealousy

Neil stood straight, put both his hands on his pockets, leaned towards Thomas, smiled slyly and said, "I want your elder daughter!"

Thomas instantly widened his eyes as if he had seen a ghost. He couldn't believe his ears. "WHAT?!" He almost screamed in shock and disbelief and jumped up from his seat.

"I don't like repeating things, but I'll repeat once again for you!" Neil said with a slight smirk on his face and stood straight.

"I want your elder daughter, I want to marry her. Is it too much to ask for?" Neil said as if he was peeking at Thomas's soul.

"Ma... marry ..m.. my daughter?" Thomas asked again in disbelief.

Well Neil was getting annoyed now. He has said everything in simple words. Is this man so dumb that this simple thing is not getting into his mind? What a fool!

But he couldn't lose his temper now. Not if he wants to get her. He has understood that this man's a fool. And he knows that he will get what he wants, but he has to be patient for that.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Neil asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Well, it shouldn't be that hard for you. I'm asking to marry your elder daughter. If you are not okay with the decision it's okay, I don't mind." Neil said, making a calm posture.

"Really?" Thomas asked, dumbfounded.

"Yes, but I'm sorry I can't help you with your problem. And I don't think anyone else will help you either. As I said, I'm a businessman and I can't invest in something which is a loss from the beginning." Neil said, shrugging his shoulders.

"But you are asking me to sell off my daughter!" Thomas raised his voice a little.

Neil chuckled and said, "So this is what you are thinking? No, you are not selling off your daughter to me, rather it's a deal. If I marry your elder daughter, you will get help from. It's a give and take. Don't make your old brain work so much."

"Well I'm giving you a day to think and make your decision. I hope you won't waste your time by approaching others. Because you already know that you won't get any good results." Neil said the last line in an intimidating tone.

Thomas was speechless. He didn't know what to say or what to do. He kept standing there.

"Well now excuse me, I'm going to have dinner now" Neil said, giving a small smile to Thomas, patting his shoulder.

Katherine

"How are you?" Alessia asked over the phone.

"Good, and I have good news! Actually great news!!" Katherine said almost jumping in joy.

"Spill it, girl!!" Alessia said.

"Well, I'm getting my next payment in next four days! And after that I'll finally start looking at houses for rent, which means I'll be able to move out soon!!!" Katherine said, giggling.

"Yes! Finally! Now you will be able to move out and live your own life like the way you want to, babe!" Alessia sounded very happy.

"Thanks, babe, and you also have to come with me to look for my new house!" Katherine said, beaming.

"Sure, my love, sure don't worry, I'll come with you!" Alessia said.

Then the both hung up the call.

"Yes, finally!" Katherine said and then lied down on the bed, she fell asleep without any delay. Today she was relieved. As she will soon be out of this hell house.

"Honey, what happened at the party? Did you talk to that businessman?" Ashley asked her husband.

"Yes, I have" Thomas replied, being absent minded. He still couldn't believe what Neil said. Why would a billionaire like him ask to marry an ordinary family's daughter? Well they never were solvent. No matter how much Thomas tried to make his business successful, he always failed.

And that billionaire wants to marry his daughter? He can't even afford the wedding.

"Why would he do that?" Thomas asked himself. "He did what?" Ashley asked, hearing him say that.

"Well..." Thomas was in a dilemma if he should say this to his wife. But again he thought Neil had given him only a day time. Which means he has time till tomorrow. Then Neil certainly would call him. And if he doesn't do the way Neil wants. Then the bank will take their house and the money lenders will for sure cut his hands and limbs and not only that but also will take his kidneys, heart.. other organs and will throw him under the train. This is what they had told him if he can't repay the money.

Thomas gulped thinking about how his life will become miserable. But how will his life become miserable if they actually kill him. No, he can't let this happen.

"Why aren't you saying anything!!" Ashley asked, getting irritated.

" I'll tell you tomorrow I want to sleep now" Thomas said while getting up from his couch and to bed.

"Ughh..he is good for nothing! Can somebody remind me why I married him?!!" Ashley asked herself holding her head then she too went to bed.

Ashley immediately fell asleep while Thomas was still awake. He was in deep thoughts.

"But it's not that I'm selling off my daughter, she will just marry that billionaire and her life will be secured also. And my business and my life will be safe at last!"

But Thomas still wasn't sure. He was Unsure of the fact that how his daughter would take the whole situation. But again if he thinks about her opinion then he sure would be dead, because he don't have time to ask for his daughter's opinion and the opinion has to be yes. If he has to save himself then he has to give away his daughter.

"Well, she has to marry someday, so why not now. " He thought. Then after some time of thinking he slept too.

The next Evening...

"Why didn't you tell me this before?!" Ashley asked, with her eyes widened.

"I was confused about what I should do, I still don't know if I should agree to what he said. Thomas said to his wife.

Thomas has explained everything to Ashley about how Neil has asked for his daughter and he wants to marry her. Also that he has told if he doesn't agree Neil won't help him.

Ashley was dumbfounded hearing all these. Why would a Billionaire would ask for Katherine? In her eyes, Katherine is nothing but a servant. She doesn't have any standards at all. But she knows one thing and that is Katherine is prettier than her daughter. After all she has been hearing that since Shaisha's was a little girl. And that's why she was always jealous of Katherine. She always felt her only daughter was inferior to her.

Now that a billionaire wants to marry that girl Ashley's jealousy is at peak level. She feels her daughter deserves all this, not that bitch.

That Katherine bitch can never be better than her daughter!

"What did ge see in Katherine!" Ashley said, in a mocking tone.

Thomas looked at her, narrowing her eyes. "Stop your nonsense" He said.

"He hasn't seen her yet," Thomas said.

"What?!" Ashley said.

"Then why did you say he wants to marry her?" Ashley asked dumbfoundedly.

"He said he wants to marry my elder daughter," Thomas said.

Ashley smirked, "So he doesn't know who the elder daughter is?!" She thought to herself.
