Chapter 8 Getting to Know Each Other

Emily thought that she was dreaming when she felt someone lift her up, she immediately opened her eyes and met a pair of blue eyes staring back at her.

"Ssh....go back to sleep" Richard whispered as he placed her on the huge bed.

But she was already a wake and the thought of being carried by the man whom she had yet to believe was her husband made the sleep go away.

"I can't sleep" He was sitting close to her that her heart started beating furiously. Her cheeks were now red light a tomato. She was blushing all over the place.

He lifted his hands and softly pinched her cheeks playfully.

"You are blushing"

"No I am not, why would I blush? It is not like we are areal couple, we are just married on paper and that is all there is in this relationship. I don't see any other way why I should feel that way about you."

"It is because you find me attractive? Do you want me to make your greatest dreams come true? We can consummate our marriage right now." He said as he smirked mischievously.

"In your dream, I am okay"

"Alright don't complain later because I offered but you refused. Anyway tomorrow we will go to town so you can get dolled up, my parents are eagerly waiting for you."

Her shoulders tensed because of the thought of facing people she probably knew won't accept her. He saw her brown eyes frown with fright as she tried to hide her face away.

"Don't worry, they are very social people. Can we try to at least get to know each other? We won't be able to convince them if every time I come closer to you, I see you tense. Just relax a little bit and let things flow by themselves. By the time we get to the house I want us to be able to act fondly at each other. By this I mean that you have to learn to kiss and hug me naturally."

"You can't blame me, we are completely strangers."

"Okay let us start by holding hands. "He reached out his huge hand and took hers in to them. She could feel his warmth all over her body and loved the comfort he gave her.

"You see I didn't bite you. So try to relax when we are together. I promise I won't touch you if you aren't ready"

"Thank you for being understanding"

He learned closer to kiss her on the forehead but by accident she lifted her head up and their lips ended up meeting unexpectedly. He paused for a while to look at her reaction but decided to go ahead and kiss her.

Hi icy lips met hers initially in a slow soft kisses which gradually increased in to an urgent passionate kiss. He was devouring her mouth with hunger demanding her to open her mouth and submit to him totally and when he finally stopped she hid her face on the crook of his neck to try and catch her breath.

"Can we sleep now? I don't feel well" She whispered softly

"Okay"

He would have loved to tease her more but it was better to take things slow as he feared that he can end up scaring her away. His body was on fire now and all he wanted was to grab her and ravish her all night long.

However he was not in a rush and he will take his time to gain her trust. Right now he needed a cold shower to cool his hot body. This was unexpected for him because he never intended to respond in that passionate way to the woman, who had the courage to approach him when others were scared.

"Go on have some sleep. I think I need a very cold shower to clear my mind"

Emily felt really guilty as she looked at the state he was in, but there was nothing she could have done.

Soon she heard running water in the bathroom and she tried to imagine what almost happened between them .His kiss was still lingering on her mouth and his masculine scent couldn't leave her mind.

When dawn came, she felt a heavy thing on her waist and when she turned her head to take a look. He was soundly asleep and looking really sexy. The stubbles on his jaw bone had just started to sprout out of his skin making him look rugged and attractive at the same time.

"Do you like what you are seeing?" He said while smirking softly.

Emily stared at him at a daze because she never thought that she would be caught red handed shamelessly looking at him." But she thought he was a sleep. At what moment did he wake up?

"I wasn't staring at you."

"Alright whatever, go freshen up so we can go."

On the busy highway, Richard was driving the car staring right ahead with a serious face .He said that he didn't like to be distracted while driving .The entire journey to town was filled with quietness as he never wanted to start any conversation.

Finally the car stopped in front of a luxurious store in the city and Richard instructed her to alight out of the car. He held out his hands for her as he led her inside the store. Every woman that passed by their side gave her a jealous look as it was evident that she was walking beside a handsome man.

"This store belongs to my friend and I know he is going to dress you well."

She nodded her head in acknowledgement to his statement and continued to follow him in to the second floor. The place was simply amazing, she had never seen such expensive clothes on her entire life. She looked up at him with tears in her eyes .He just smiled and wiped them off.

"Don't worry, I told you that I will take care of you. I want you to have everything that you have ever desired. Go pick anything that you want and don't you worry about the money. I will take care of that."

"Thank you but I don't need expensive things. All I want is something simple and nice" This place was filled with the clothes she had been dreaming of every time she saw Nina wearing them, but now she couldn't believe that the man was offering her all this and she just didn't feel it was right. She still didn't feel that she deserved all that he was giving her

"My woman will never wear cheap things, get that in to your head. From now onwards you will be my queen. I want you to only have the best and nothing less, what will people say if they see you dressing cheaply, that will be so embarrassing to me."

She just smiled and looked at him gently, this was too much for her to bear. Nina had all this luxury to her disposal and she was always sad when her parents didn't want to give her the same things.

However, now this wonderful man is giving her everything that she had grown up yearning for. She couldn't have asked for a better man in her life and she felt a certain kind of affection for him.

"Man you have been lost. I have been looking for you everywhere." Shane Rode Exclaimed.
