Chapter 7 She Won The Tender

"I am working on a design we need to present tomorrow for the upcoming building of the amusement park. I promised Ben that I will participate and win."

"So you people decided to challenge Davis Corporation? Emily are you sure you are not making any mistake? Because I have heard that they are the best in this, you are just an unknown designer probably trying on her first time, are you really sure?

"Yes"

"Okay but can you go and get some rest. It is not good for you to work all night long you can become sick." Did he just show some concern for her? But she thought it was an arrangement between them and nothing more?

"Let me do some final touches, I will be right there."

"Don't take too long or I will come and carry you to the bedroom" he threatened

"Don't worry I am almost done."

In the morning she woke up really worried, it was the presentation day and she had done all she can and only hoped that things will go on smoothly. She took all her documents and headed up to the town hall where the big shots were seated eagerly waiting for the most important event.

When she looked at the front she saw Nina and Toby seated smiling elegantly at the guest that sat next to them. Even if Nina stole her designs she left back at the Davis residence it will never be a match to what she has just created.

She heard the microphone call Davis Corporation on stage to make their presentation and she was anxiously waiting to see what they have just come up with. Much to her prediction Nina had just lifted one of her old designs and she smiled sarcastically at their down fall.

After they were done several, other big names were called on stage and when her chance came, everybody were murmuring slowly wondering who Foster Corporation were and when Emily walked on stage and Nina realized who she was, she immediately recoiled back and the smile she had on her face back then disappeared.

Emily chuckled softly while looking at her direction loving the way she was afraid.

She started her presentation and before she even finished everyone in the crowd were cheering .That was the best design ever produced in the city. When she looked at the guests her eyes caught someone familiar and Emily thought she was dreaming.

However on looking closely it was Richard who had come to witness her triumph. What more could she wish for?

It was the most amazing day of her life as Ben foster corporation was announced as the winner of a tender worth Millions of shillings. That was the first revenge Emily had in mind and she has succeeded.

By now every TV station had her name in its headlines and in a split of a second she turned the opportunity that Ben Foster gave her in to a household name.

Ben was the proudest CEO of all, every reporter wanted to know how he got his hands on the designer with the excellent skills and they were wondering how the other big shots were doing.

On the other hand while Nina was being embarrassed with questions on why she lost the tender, she was trying as much as she could to be polite. But at the end her mouth slipped as usual and she talked to the reporters badly.

They abandoned her and went to shower Emily with praises. She was now surrounded everywhere and cameras were flashing on her face from every corner. It almost made her go blind.

Suddenly a man came and spoke with authority and all the reporters disappeared.

"Everybody that is enough for today"

"Well, Mr Richard Do you have any comment for us" one of the reporter asked

"No.... I will schedule a meeting for all of you, you will be informed of the date and venue after I have prepared my presentation. I hope you all understand what I am trying to say. As for now you will have to excuse me with the lady so that she can go and attend to other important things. I think she has done her best to answer all your questions "

"Okay Mr Weller we appreciate."

He just came on the right time, Emily was starting to feel suffocated with the entire questions which were being asked by the reporters.

However the moment he grabbed her hands and moved her away from the reporters she was very grateful. On the exit of the building she noticed Nina still looking at her with disbelief. Nevertheless, that was the least of her concerns, she will get what is coming to her.

"Are you feeling better?" He asked after helping her climb his black car which was parked at the parking lot

"Yes, thank you so much. I realize how difficult it is to deal with all this reporters and I wonder how you do it. Anyway I am just glad that you came to my rescue me, what will I have done without you?"

"You don't need to thank me. I am now your husband and I will protect you from all those people who want to hurt you. We might not be so much acquainted to each other but all the same it is my responsibility to look out for you."

"So you really did investigate me. I knew it but I wasn't sure."

"Yes I am a business man and I never enter in to an agreement with my eyes blind. I had to just find out everything about you. Did you think that I was capable of living with a complete stranger in my house without doing my research? Any way congratulations my dear wife, I now knows you capability."

"Does that mean I have managed to convince you? Because I have to admit that it wasn't easy to pull all this up as the project manager never wanted it in the first place. However on my part I saw it as an opportunity to prove myself."

"I am not still convinced because I need to learn more about you. You have not completed the whole project and I have to appraise your entrepreneurial skills too. You might have the technical skills but business wise you suck and that is even worse."

"Don't worry I will make sure to convince you" Emily gave him a charming smile

Emily was exhausted with all the activities of the day, she leaned her head back on the chair and dozed off immediately. But all the same she was very grateful by having someone by her side.

When Richard looked at his side he couldn't help but stare at her beautiful angel like face. Now that he had a proper view she was a painstakingly gorgeous woman with really soft silky skin. Her face was flawless with a long black hair.

He raised his hands and caressed her cheeks softly, something that he had been wanting to do for a while but he was restraining himself. She felt the soft touch of his hand on her skin and shifted slightly on the chair.

On reaching the house he lifted her up and carried her to the house a bridal style, she fitted perfectly on his big chest and he frowned at the thought of how gentle he was starting to get with her.
