I parted ways with my two friends who were taking boxing extracurriculars. Of course, I didn't take up such grueling and rough activities, after all, I am a gentle-soft woman you know.
"Good afternoon everyone."
"Ah, Vivian?"
"Oh hi, is your leave already over?" I nodded.
"It's been so long since I've been in this room, I miss it."
My words made the lecturer laugh. "You mean you miss destroying the laboratory?" Prof. Beatrice replied. She is the person in charge of this extracurricular activity. I already knew her in the first semester, and thanks to her I became interested and knew more about chemistry experiments, very interesting.
This is the laboratory. As the name suggests, this room is almost dominated by the color white and shiny silver temples that are stored almost throughout the room, of course with various bottles inscribed in alien languages for those who are not interested and do not understand the meaning and how to use each magic potion.
I'm not lying about magic potions. Because every time you put in something strange the glass container will emit colored smoke.
"Are we going to practice right away Mrs?"
"Well you can, but of course the light ones first, we'll do the easiest ones and also the ones that don't cost anything. It's just an introduction, so if you don't feel like this... you can leave anytime."
I nodded. It's true, that buying materials and items to conduct lab tests can be quite expensive. That's why I had to take time off and work my butt off to buy my equipment.
Beatrice took a lemon and a knife that she kept in her desk drawer, she then cut the lemon in half and ate half of the lemon later, which made the students surprised.
Oh, you must be wondering what I'm going to do, right?" Beatrice smiled it wasn't that, we were more wondering how Beatrice could eat the sour lemon without hesitation and without making a weird face.
"Do you all like movies about secret agents? I've loved them since I was a kid and was very curious about how to be one of those agents back in the day. Especially when the agents exchange messages with each other without being caught at all by ordinary people.
That's why I'm lucky to be majoring in Chemistry because I can create my secret messages on my own.
"Are... are you going to use lemon Mrs?"
One of the freshmen asked, and Beatrice smiled happily.
"Yes!"
We all focused on Ms. Beatrice who was preparing the bowl and the lemon. She then squeezed half of the lemon and put the lemon juice in the bowl, she brought the bowl to the sink and used her hand to measure so that not too much water would get into the bowl.
"Just put a few drops, Dad," she said.
She then took a cotton bud and dipped it into the lemon and water mixture and wrote something on the paper with it.
"Ah it's done, I just wrote on this paper, it doesn't show, does it?"
The paper sat for some time to dry, and we passed the paper to each other. There was no writing on it at all.
"Now, did any of you bring a lighter?"
"I smoke."
"Ah good, come here and light your match near this paper."
He followed Ms. Beatrice's instructions and as the flame flickered, faint writing appeared on the paper. The students looked amazed.
"Hahaha this is just an ordinary and light trial, when it comes to the material there will be more complications and results, but of course, I don't think there's any harm in trying because it's quite fun isn't it?"
The new and old students came out with cheerful faces.
"This is a good time. I've been meaning to look for you when I saw your name listed this semester." Ms. Beatrice adjusted her fashionable sunglasses. She looked like a typical professor, in a white robe with glasses and long hair. But she was also very beautiful because she was one of the young lecturers at Campus X.
"What's wrong ma'am?"
"I'm very sorry, but it looks like you won't be able to join my class
this year."
What?!
"Ah? Why? I'm being nice. I've also apologized for the incident and I've paid all the compensation. Please don't throw me away."
Ugh, please don't. I'm willing to study here because I know there are classes and extracurriculars about chemistry, I can't just let it go.
"Ah no no it's not like that."
Beatrice looked at me.
"Do you remember what your chemistry grade was?"
"Of course! I got almost a perfect score."
Beatrice moved her head up and down in agreement with what I said.
"Then you also remember your biology grade, right?" I pouted. Of course, I remembered that.
"I've decided to pass you in my class if you can pass the biology class."
Ah, no way, I don't want to.
"I knew you wouldn't agree with me so I've already recruited you as a supervising lecturer for this year, and the head of the college has all agreed. They want you to improve not only in chemistry but also in basic biology.
"But the important thing is that I can practice..."
"And I want you be good in all these fields. I dont receive refuse."
I exhaled like there was no other choice.
"Okay..."
"Good, you can meet him next week, his name is Professor Xavier and he just came in while you were gone, so let me show you his picture."
"But my knowledge and that of a professor are different."
"That's fine, it would be a great help if you would help him in all the areas he can't about what tou can."
Beatrice smiled gently. But I didn't care about that smile anymore, I could only resign myself to the situation.
"You can meet her tomorrow in her office, here the picture. Just make sure not to cause any trouble and burn down her office."
Vivian lazily glanced at Beatrice's cell phone, but later her gaze became excited.
'Him?!'
Vivian immediately looked at Beatrice.
"He's handsome, isn't he? You should thank me."
Vivian smiled happily. "Yes, very handsome!"
Geez, this must be fate.
Vivian looked at the photo for a longer time. He was the same man she had met that time!
