Truly, the Kingdom of Cervantez was mighty in and out. She was dumbfounded at how disciplined the Cervantezians were here at the heart of the town unlike a while ago.
"Kingdom Cervantez was indeed mighty. Their surroundings screamed for being prosperous. I didn't even see paupers scattered anywhere, and instead they had their own trade to have funds," Deja said.
In Parzatine, they didn't have unequal treatment for paupers or wanderers. But to other kingdoms from what her parents told her that there were differences.
She wasn't taking her eyes off the hole until she saw a lady that bought a fancy dress that made her eyes glimmer in delight.
"How do they purchase here?" she asked while still busying herself looking at the hole. She saw many ladies selling other products that were usually for women's needs. She even caught a glimpse of a beautiful pair of necklaces, and some shoes that weren't like what they usually wore at Parzatine, which were ankle boots that were made of animal's fur or skin that resisted the cold breeze of their beloved kingdom.
"Hmm. . . I think the clients used coins to purchase products that they wanted to buy. From what I remembered from what Helmar told while we were outside a while ago, and we had a little tittle-tattle, the highest amount was gold coin, then silver coin, and lastly copper coin," Deja answered.
In Parzatine, they traded their products by exchanging them with other sellers, and if it was very fancy, they used crystals and gems to purchase higher quality products. She wouldn't forget about that.
"Did slaves also allowed to make fun or buy whatever they like, and they could earn coins too?" she asked again.
"I didn't know, but it still depends of course to the rules of the Head of the Slaves if he or she would give permission to that," Deja answered. "Why? Did you want to buy something?"
She pouted her lips, and didn't say anything. She even heard Daffodil and Deja chuckled amusingly. But she didn't mind it, and still continued peeking at the hole. Her eyes twinkled in delight when she saw a man playing with fire while the meat was pierced in a metal pole. There were also some young descendants laughing while walking around to buy what they like with their parents. She even saw a little girl being carried by the father while the pregnant mother went kissing the two of them on the cheek.
A ghost smile formed through her lips, and reminisced a nostalgic memory of her family when she was young. She remembered her father always doing that when they were strolling at the town of Parzatine to buy. Her mother usually kissed their cheeks, and caressed their hairs lovingly. She loved it the most when her mother hugged her, and sang a beautiful lullaby. She inherited her serene voice from her mother. She always heard her father praising it, and she learned that was how her father fell in love with her mother when they were young. She suddenly felt envious of what she saw now.
'I yearn to be in their shoes too, and live normally. I wanted to be with my parents too while having a great time like there would be no harm that could happen. I wonder if me and my parents lived normally like them, would they still be alive?'
She sighed and a lone tear escaped from her eye. Her heart clenched in deep sorrow and yearning for her parent's affection.
'I also wished that my parents were here with me right now. . .'
But she knew that this was the reality. No one could turn back time, and replace things as what anyone could wished. The world was really peculiar, and she didn't know what the deities and the creator wanted to happen in future. No one knew who would be gone next or who would survive. Everything was inevitable.
She was startled from her reverie when someone touched her behind. She looked from her back and saw Deja making sure that she felt nothing right.
"Were you alright?" Deja asked.
"Yeah, just a little trouble behind my back for a while, but everything was alright now, because you mend it. Thank you," she answered.
Daffodil sighed. "I wanted to crush the bones of that Stupid Man. He didn't even bother to give forgiveness to what he had done to you."
"Oh, for sure that man was limping and grunting in pain right now after what you had done to him a while ago. You didn't see what the expression of the people surrounding you was. They were even beyond shocked that a woman like you did that to a man who was taller and buff," Deja uttered, and chuckled. "How foolish he was."
Daffodil huffed in annoyance, while crossing arms under its chest. "Well, I don't care about him. He was indeed an empty-head just like those men who annoyed us along our way. There was nothing special about him, so let's not talk about him anymore, because he was stupid."
Deja giggled, and was definitely delighted by Daffodil's reaction who was really annoyed at the man, and wanted to be cursed in his lifetime. "Oh? He was beyond an exception to them. Did you look at him intently? He was way more dashing than those who were empty-headed men we encountered."
"Ugh! Stop teasing me like that. Don't you dare praise that Stupid Man in front of me, and it made me sick like hell. His appearance was way better to resemble his horse. All of the men we encountered along our way towards Kingdom Cervantez except Helmar were needed to be punished, and thrown to the other dimension for their idiocy. And mind you, he wasn't my ideal man to be with, so dream on and just shut your mouth," Daffodil snorted.
She sat properly, and now facing Daffodil and Deja. She was fascinated by Daffodil's reaction while Deja kept teasing. She wanted the two of them to unwind, and somehow forget what their duties were. All she knew was that Daffodil never engaged in a relationship with any man when they were at Parzatine. Daffodil was very protective to Deja and also to her.
Deja pouted, and dreamily said. "You were very mean to that man, Daffodil. Were you attracted to him? If yes, I guess the both of you would be a nice pair, and you could also have beautiful descendants with him. The more you hate the more you would be attached and couldn't take your eyes off him until you fell in love with him, marry, bring forth his descendants in your womb, and the both of you would grow old together. I hope the two of you would crossed-paths again, and it would definitely be a fate."
Daffodil scrunched her nose in full irritation from Deja's tease. She suddenly reminisced the features of the man who was riding a horse with a basket full of flowers. He didn't seem like an ordinary Cervantezian, because he was buff and looked like from a prominent clan.
"Shut up, Deja. That wasn't funny at all. Don't pair me up with that Stupid Man. I didn't want him to be the father of my descendants. I would love to be gone in this world while not being impregnated by him," Daffodil opposed, which made Deja stop speaking, but there was a hint of mischievousness around its face.
"May I know what you prefer to a man, Daffodil?" she asked.
Daffodil's eyes widened at her sudden query which made her smile while Deja was struggling not to laugh, because for sure Daffodil would be embarrassed more.
"A-ahm. . ." Daffodil stuttered, and cleared her throat before continuing. "I just wanted to find a man like Father."
"What? That would be a disaster for sure. You were the female imitation of him. The both of you could have a staring battle for eternity, and that could be a foolishness. You should have a man that was opposite of you or humorous," Deja butted in hysterically like a mother scolding a child for not answering right.
Daffodil frowned while looking daggers at Deja. She also noticed that Daffodil's face flushed in shame. She didn't know how to pair up two people, since she didn't feel that way.
"But what matters most was Daffodil's euphoria. As long as they go along with each other, loyal and smitten, I wouldn't interfere and instead support them all the way," she said.
"Thank you," Daffodil mumbled and slightly bowed.
She nodded while smiling, and looked at Deja who was pouting. "And you, don't flirt or smitten to other men who weren't your mate. You were still too young, and let your eldest sister marry and have her own family first before you, alright?"
Deja nodded obediently. She sighed and felt relieved. Deja was still childish, but dauntless when it came to brawling. She didn't want Deja to be betrayed by any man, and also Daffodil too. She cherished both Daffodil and Deja like her siblings that she didn't have. She would defend them too until the end.
PRINCESS NIEVA opened her eyes while her arms were crossed under her chest. She took a snooze, and when she felt that the old wagon suddenly stopped for the last time. She knew that they were finally here. Daffodil and Deja glanced at her, and she nodded. It was the start of her facade. Helena and Hestia opened the off-white canopy that made Daffodil and Deja get out. She rose from her seat, and was helped by Daffodil and Deja too. When her black ankle boots hit the bricked floor, she saw a well-painted property that was surrounded by flowers.
"This was the property of the Emissary of the palace. He could help you to enter the palace to be a slave," Helmar stated.
Daffodil nodded. "We were truly gratified for the time you spent with us."
Helmar bowed a little. "It was our pleasure to serve and help all of you to safely arrive here. We would like to apologize for the hindrances along our way."
She shook her head, and whispered. "No, it was alright. Thank you, and be safe."
"We were grateful to have crossed-paths with the dauntless women like the three of you. I wished I could be that too," Helena uttered.
"You could be dauntless in your way, Helena. Don't compare yourself to others, because no one's perfect," Deja opposed.
Helena nodded. "I'll keep that in my mind. Thank you for uplifting my spirit, Lady Deja."
Deja smiled and bowed a little.
"Lady Eva, stay safe always. I hope that we could meet again at the right time. I wished I could be as dauntless like you to face my fears," Hestia stated.
Her heart leapt in glee, because a non-Parzatine admired her that much. Before she could whisper, she was dumbfounded when Helena and Hestia hugged her tightly, and also Daffodil and Deja too.
"Till we meet again at the right time. We wished for all of your safety throughout your journey here at the Kingdom Cervantez," Helena and Hestia bid farewell while Helmar bowed.
They were interrupted when the wooden sliding door opened, and revealed a man wearing a green cloak without a hood that had an embellishment of gold around it.
"Oh, I have guests outside my vicinity. I'm Emissary Solomon, the messenger and delegate of the palace in this town. How could I serve you?" he asked while his brows furrowed. She couldn't say that this man was nice or not, because of his deadpan expression.
Helena, Helmar and Hestia bowed a little to give curtsey, especially the two women who spread the skirt wide, and then stood properly again.
"We just helped them to arrive here, because they wanted to be slaves at the palace," Helmar answered.
Emissary Solomon nodded, and then gazed at her. "Oh, well come inside, so that we could talk about your request."
She nodded, and immediately Daffodil and Deja moved to her sides while Helena, Helmar and Hestia at their back. Emissary Solomon ushered them to enter his vicinity. She gazed at the surroundings, and it had many ceramics that had colorful motifs. Also, she noticed that there were flowers at the big urn, but what captured her attention most was a big painting of a family. She stopped at her tracks, and looked at it intently. Daffodil and Deja stopped too.
In the painting, there was a king, queen and also five young children around them with all smiles while the king and queen carried two babies who were a boy and a girl, and she bet those were twins. She observed that all of the characters in the painting were delighted. Out of the blue, her lips twitched with a smile while looking at it.
"Oh, that was the last memory of our beloved Queen Allarisette before the disaster came. That was a precious painting of King Thesaurus and his family. It was an order that all of the delegates in the kingdom needed to have this painting even though everything had changed after that tragedy including the descendants," he said.
Her heart clenched with sorrow, and looked back to the painting of the late queen wearing a big smile while carrying a baby girl in arms. She didn't know that King Thesaurus family were having exquisite beauties. She remembered that all of King Thesaurus' descendants were cursed by the Lady Witch, but the powers of Queen Allarisette contradicted it, and destroyed it into halves.
"Queen Allarisette was beautiful," Deja mumbled that was heard by Emissary Solomon.
"Indeed. Queen Allarisette's beauty was exquisite. She was the only beloved of King Thesaurus, and even after she died, he never married again to another woman. Instead, he spent his time with his descendants who were the only memory of his beloved queen even if they were cursed. But King Thesaurus adored his youngest twin the most who was Princess Tabitha since it resembled his beloved queen. You must know them, since the three of you wanted to be a part of slaves in the palace," he stated.
'Death was really inevitable, but look how mighty they were now even though they lost a queen. I wondered what they looked like now after many years had passed.'
"Let's proceed to my chamber, so that we could talk more about what your agenda was," he added.
"Alright," Daffodil agreed.
Deja held her arm that made her gaze torn at the painting, and they started to come after Emissary Solomon.
