Chapter 5 UNFAVORABLE MOMENT.

Rowan.

I squeezed the towel in my hand dabbing on his face, l pushed his hair backwards with my fingers to keep the warm towel on his forehead, we came under the rain, he must be very cold.

"Alpha, what do you think we should do? When he has his primal shift, the whole Pack will surely hear about it, " Elias said, walking back nervously.

"Get a set of clothes for me, Elias, let's worry about that later."

"What do you mean let's worry about that later, common Rowan have you lost your senses, if you weren't my Alpha or my Best friend l will really punch you in the face right now, what the fuck, there is a more important issue going on and the only thing you could think about his change his wet clothes, he is going to shift for the first time and those clothes you want to change so bad will shred in pieces, l asked you the same questions some moment ago and you gave me a deaf ear." Leon ranted out.

"Leon, you need to calm down, the moment you do, maybe we will converse more reasonably, right now l can't think, " Do you understand?

" Elias, please get me the clothes I asked you for."

"Yes, Alpha."

I unbuttoned Jaylene's shirt with sweats fuming dots on my forehead, l wiped his body carefully, l avoid my eyes from gazing mindlessly, as l kept blinking and my throat kept getting dry by the minute, my Mate is lying beautifully right in front of me, l want to wail out loud.

"Here Is it, Alpha."

I raised Jaylene up in my arms, surging out to take out his clothes into dry ones, what belongs to me belongs to him, he can do anything he wants to do, l don't care if he shreds some piece of clothes, he matters to me more than my life itself.

"Do you guys mind, privacy, turn around what do you want to see?" I warned taking out Jaylene's clothes, as wolves, we don't care much about privacy, but Jaylene might not be comfortable about it, as he is not used to the environment, or used to other people looking at him naked and of course, l'm protective of my mate.

"So, now what do we do? "Leon said this time in a more serious tone.

" l think we should take him out of the Pack, "Elias suggested.

" Where can we go? It's still raining," l chirped in, getting Jaylene clothes in my arms, as l picked up the bowl and walked out of the living room.

"The Doctor said he wakes up at 16hours, we have enough time to plan to save your sorry ass," Leon said.

"I don't need anybody to save me, stop making me feel like l committed a crime, I didn't kill your dog or stepped on your toes."

"Oh right, Goodluck then, " Leon walked out, kicking the door forcefully, l ran my hand through my hair frustratingly.

"Alpha, l understand you, l get the feeling of having your Mate beside you, one that you can't go close to, yet he is lying on your couch right now, right under your roof as your own, but you really need to think, the rest of the packmate and border guards that saw you, l already dismissed them that you save a fragile homeless wolf on your way back, the prophecy on your life scroll is not hidden news, everybody knows and they that their leader went against the lights and path of the Moon Goddess, what do you think will happen by then?" Elias confessed slowly and sincerely.

"I know all this Elias, but l don't want to be away from him again, l don't want him to stay away from me either and l don't want to put him aside like the way the both of you want me to do, l cannot just neglect him or ignore after what l did to him, l'm already drenched in fear that he will never forgive me in his life," l said entirely the way l vaguely felt.

"Nobody wants you to neglect your Mate, Alpha, l'm sure that is not what Leon wants too, we know you have already written your own destiny with your own hands the moment you marked him, we only want to protect you, make sure you realise your responsibility and your word of promises to keep the safety of the Pack safe from all harm, Jaylene is a harm right now, not only to you but the rest of the Pack."

"My mate is not a threat to anybody, don't talk about him like that, he is not going to hurt anybody."

"How sure are you that he wouldn't hurt anyone, he has already hurt your senses, he is about to have a primal shift, everything he sees or touches will be a threat to him, you don't want to set him up with a fight with another Packmate right? " Leon said walking back with a jar of wolfbane in his hands, how can he be thinking about drinking at this point.

" l know my responsibility fully well, and my Mate is also my priority too, taking him out of an open space will be a wrong idea."

"Then we don't take him out, we will tie him and bind him with a silver chain in the Dungeon Cave, nobody will hear his howls and cries, and he will not be able to run away either," Leon stated with no remorse which made me surge out to punch him but Elias intercepted.

"Do you have any conscience, Leon?"

" I'm only thinking for your own good, you want to keep your Mate in the Pack, fine, but you can't imprison him to save the lives of your Packmate? You are so selfish, Rowan."

"Dungeon Caves is for brutal criminals, for rouge wolves, Grandfather created that Cave a hundred years ago with no ray of sunlight, with no audible walls, a place meant for tortured with dead skulls and burnt bodies? You want my Mate to be bound to those chains of torture? I'd rather die than do that to him, Leon."

" Do you have a better idea then? If so l will abide by it, but I won't sit down and watch you risk your life and that of the Pack.''

"It's bad enough that we have to bind silver on his skin, his body and it's going to hurt him badly enough already, but keeping him in a dungeon is too extreme, more reasons for him to hate on me," I said nonchalantly.

"So what do we do?" Elias asked glaring at me for answers.

"Let's tie him up in my room, nobody would dare go into my room without permission."

"And when he howls out in pain?" Leon retorted.

"You can simply say that I'm in a rage, the Alpha is in rage, everyone should return back to their perspective houses."

" Tsk, Rowan please, you are smarter than this, at this point, I don't want to find my Mate if I'm going to be like this, "Leon said.

" Then you can have my Life Scroll in your next life, " l retorted back at him as those sarcastic words hurt like hell, l don't care how I look or think right now, l'm finally with Jaylene and l won't act unfortunate.

"No, thank you, l better not, don't you think by your excuses, it's going to cause more commotion? Your Father and Mother will surely hear about it, and what will they do? They will come looking for you, and don't you think that will raise rumours in the Pack? Probably words like the Alpha is going crazy, he howled all night, tch think Rowan, think."

"I think Leon is right, Alpha, " Elias mumbled.

"I don't agree with this, there must be something l can do, I'm the Alpha of this Great Pack.

" l really think that Leon's idea is the best right now, Alpha, we can't take him outside to the woods as you said, it's just a primal shift, it will be over soon before we know it, I'm sure Jaylene will come to understand you."

"We have to do that before the mid-morning comes, the sun will rise soon, just a few steps to the east way and we will get there, it's only you that has keys to Cave Rowan.

"it's just a wooden single key that is kept in a box on the lower side of my drawer, l have never used it since l became the Alpha, my Father handed it over to me, I'm not really interested in such torture, so I don't think l can't allow my Mate to go through that."

"Alpha?

" I can't do it, Elias, l said walking back to the living room.

"I know you are scared Rowan, I'm scared too, I'm sure that is why you told us the location of the Key with no hesitation because you know we have to do what is right even though we have limited choices," Leon said.

" I'm only scared for my Mate, he is about to experience an excruciating pain, one he has never felt before in his entire life, what if his body is so weak that he doesn't survive it?"

"I'm sure he will do," Elias said, placing his hand on Jaylene's forehead.

"What are you doing?" I snarled authoritatively.

"He is burning up, Alpha."
