Chapter 6 Unwanted Pregnancy.

Things got heated between Oscar and Amira, fast and within 12 months of their meeting. Amira was pregnant with his child and she became concerned about how disappointed people would feel. She imagined all the people who would whisper her name through the streets as the girl who got pregnant out of wedlock.

Amira and her boyfriend decided it was best they got married immediately before the signs begin to show.

A couple of weeks along the line a woman texted Amira.

"The man you are about to marry is my serious boyfriend. I've been with him longer than you have been with him. I even got pregnant for him at some point but he made me get rid of it. You don't know this man like you think you do. Please be warned." Amira was surprised after reading the text messages.

A few minutes later, a knock came on the door, and before it was pushed open it was Freya Amira's bestie.

"Thank God you're here Freya, I was about to call you." Amira said with a smirk on her face.

"What's the problem?" Freya ask.

"Oscar is cheating on me." She said and open the text messages.

"Oh my gosh. Did Oscar know about this?" Freya ask.

"No, he went out with his friends. I haven't forwarded the message to him."

"Okay, don't worry. Get it over and ask Oscar sincerely. Maybe is one of his ex-girlfriends." Freya said.

Amira didn't bother replying to the text. She waited for Oscar to return from his gangster. A few hours later Oscar returns looking stinky from excess drinking and smoking with an unscrupulous gangster he calls friends.

"Why are you doing this to me, Oscar? Why it's difficult to let go of your friends?" She asks and groaned on her complaint.

"Am very sorry Amira. Everything gonna be fine after our wedding." He retorted seductively while smiling.

Amira's face was tough as she stand peaking at him repulsing while he was trying to get her out of her sad mood, and she quickly show the text messages to him

Oscar was shocked. He stood motionless, just in a fraction of seconds. He bends to his knees.

"Am sorry baby. She was my ex. Believe me, I gat nothing with her and I never impregnated her." Oscar was surprised and lost for words

"I trust you, Oscar. And I love you sincerely. I hope you won't hurt my feelings?" She asked instead of smiling she was smirking.

"Please don't mention, you're my wife-to-be. I will never hurt your feelings baby." Oscar retorted without wasting time.

They held each other passionately sobbing, with no one to console them. Amira was happy again

"Am happy you're finally back baby. I have missed you a lot. You're highly welcome." Amira uttered with a lot of gleams and they were happy after.

When Sara Amira's stepmother found out she was pregnant, she objected to it. She fought tooth and nail to turn everyone against her because she got pregnant out of wedlock.

Amira didn't understand why her stepmother came against her even after leaving the house. She was just 2months pregnant so they plan to get married as soon as possible. But Amira was a little skeptical because she didn't know any of Oscar's relatives. And it becomes a burden to her.

'It didn't matter if I know him well enough. I believe him. I believe his parents leaves in Canada. We'll figure things out as we go along.' She thought to herself as they plan for their wedding.

Three days later. Amira decides to visit her parents. She peeled herself off the bed and slowly walked into the bathroom. In an attempt to make herself look more like a human than a walking zombie. So her parents won't make a bad gesture. She turn on the shower and stepped in. And cursed out loud when the icy water hit her body.

Once she was adequately scrubbed, shaved, and scented, she step out and wrapped herself in her favorite fluffy bath towel before taking a look in the mirror closets. Everyone always said how much she looked like her mother. After then she stepped out

"Good Evening Sir." Amira Saluted.

She was in the house to inform her dad of her wedding.

Mr. Ben, Amira's father was sitting on the balcony when Amira walk in.

"Look who's here. You look big Ami." Mr. Ben was happy to see Amira.

Immediately Sara walks in with a smirk on her face.

"I heard you're pregnant?" Sara ask hastily cutting her dad's shot

"Yes, mam." Amira replied without wasting time.

"You're very useless and stupid. How can you get pregnant out of wedlock?" She sparked in a loud voice.

"I don't have any issues with you, mam. I have tolerated you enough. Whether I get pregnant out of wedlock or not. Is non of your concern." She said abruptly and Sara grow angrier.

"Everything I did to you here in thy house Amira, is the reason why you're happy today. All the abusive words I used on you, are the reasons why you're successful to stand in my presence with an unwanted pregnancy." Sara castigated her in front of her dad with a lot of hatred. And there was a pause.

A few years ago, when Amira was staying with her father. Sara brought something traumatic she did to her before, and bragged about it to say the abuse is the reason why she's successful.

Amira was pissed immediately and she slammed her palms against the wall. Sara only wants a good relationship with her since she's getting married but never wants to apologize to her.

"You have to stop Sara. Amira is the only family we have now, and you need her relationship because she's our daughter." Mr. Ben said and Amira was shocked. That was the first time Mr. Ben stood against Sara to show concern.

"If I must have a relationship with her. I will need an apology to move forward from all the torture and pain she cause me because I remember every single word she used on me. Everything I face." She said explaining her hurt, and telling her father if Sara wants a relationship with her, she will need an apology.

Two days later Amira received a text message from Sara blaming her for a bunch of stuff from when she was a kid to justify her abuse on her and refusing to apologize. And Amira replied immediately.

"I'm sorry, I can't have a relationship if you don't respect me enough to apologize. My email inbox is open should you choose to apologize." Amira replied.

Since then, the only communication has been her attempts to ambush Amira by picking up her dad's phone when she calls, leaving her aggressive voicemails and texts, or having her dad pressure her to get rid of the pregnancy. She suffers from anxiety, and direct contact with Sara would only trigger an attack on her affairs. Then she stops visiting.

"Hi dear." Freya came to check on Amira to know their wedding plans

"What are you doing here? I thought you said you ain't around?" Amira ask.

"Yea, my mom cancel our trip for next weekend. How are you doing?" Freya ask.

"My stepmom is hanging on me again." She said.

"You're free Ami. You shouldn't be worried about your stepmom. What did she say this time?"

"I was in the house a few days ago to inform my dad on the date of my wedding. Immediately, Sara walks in and starts castigating me for getting pregnant out of wedlock. After I left, she stole my dad's phone, read through our private conversation, then texted me from his phone. "You're a useless waste of a child. You think you're happy because you're pregnant."

"I became frustrated and forwarded the text message to my dad. My dad was understandably pissed and said he wanted a divorce. That same day she finally did email me just one sentence: "I am sorry for hurting your feelings now that you're pregnant." She said.

"That's annoying but you shouldn't be, since you know her traumatic behavior. Did you reply to her email?" Freya asks.

"Yes, I responded also with one line. "I appreciate your apology." She said with a smirk on her face.

"You know how traumatic your step is. You don't have to worry about her." Freya said.
