Chapter 5 AN ENCOUNTER

Eric grasp his wrist before he can finish. Eric's expression darkens, almost scary to look at. Inch by inch, he pushes down Kai's hand.

" Don't point at her! Never! I mean every single word of mine. Never, ever use those points you call fingers to point at her again."

He states word by word. I'm still in stupor. Everything happened rapidly. How did Eric know I'm here? And why would he stand up for me? He was such a heave this morning. What happened? Kai draws back.

He is about the same size as Eric but apparently, he is scared to fight him. " Waiter!" Kai snaps his head at the waiter rushing towards us. "This man just attacked me!

I want to contact the police!" My heart suddenly plops. "I can't believe how shameless he can be. But he's going to get everyone into trouble." "Kai!"

I hissed, there's no need for that." Eric snorts. " it's fine let him tell on us." The waiter approach us. Yet surprisingly, he turn to Eric and me first and slightly bows.

"Can I help you with anything, Mr Demirexas? .....Mr Demirexas? Right, how can I forget? If Kai is a patronizing rich bastard, then Eric is ten time what he is. My heart rate is back to normal. Now I want to laugh so bad.

Kai's fossilized face is amusing to be looked at. Eric holds me in his arms and nods at the waiter . " Yes you heard the man. There had been some screaming and attacking. Better get the security before things spiral."

I stop the howl. " Hold on Eric.... let him go." As pleasant as it is to see Kai go down to hell, I can't stand spending another second with him. I've had enough fun. That should be satisfactory.

"You sure?" Eric looks at me. He seems so normal right now like a protective big bro. I nod. "Whatever Miss Loprex prefers then." It's strange to hear him refer to me as "Miss Loprex."

But I do not dislike the sound of it. Kai stares at us and strides angrily. I wish to appreciate Eric for everything, but before i could do that, he turns back at me and gives me a small snorts of laughter.

" So that's your MR RIGHT huh?" I frown. I do not like his sarcastic tone, but I'm still grateful for what he did.

" I already broke up with him anyway, thanks for everything." Yet Eric ignores my gratitude. Both hands in his pocket, he looks down at me and seems more condescending than ever. "Sure you did."

He chuckles, "you love the unfaithful type. As long as they write huge checks to animals shelter and pretend to care about global warming, you'd let them do anything.

No matter how much of a jerk he really is." My jaw falls. What's with all the mood swings? One minute he is a protective big brother and the next second he just turn into a malicious beast. He should be on drugs.

If I'm not mistaken! " Are you seriously questioning my love life? I snap, " oh I'm sure mr playboy must have a lot to say about this.

This is probably because he had so many condoms in his closet and had to sleep with almost every woman he ever set his eyes on!"

Eric's green eyes burn with flame of fury. He shouts back, " I won't sleep with you! That's for sure!" My mouth drops open, what did he just say? Eric seems to be shocked by his own words as well.

His ears are red but he continues to stare at me not flinching away. Our fight has caused almost everyone in the restaurant to put down their food and enjoy the scene.

The waiter tries to break our climax! "Mr Demirexas, do you want to use our balcony?" "Yeah go to your fancy balcony!" I yank at him, " I'm out of here."

It's a great error coming down here in the first place! I should have listened to father and Mia on this. Mom is home when I get back. She's surprised to see my muni plan ends so quick. "So son?" Did you have a great time?

" No. it's awful." I sit on the couch frustrated. " Eric is an idiot." "What happened?" Mom walk closer to me and pours me a cup of hot tea, "I thought you and Eric are getting along."

Mom has the charisma of making people open up to her. Before I realized, I have explained everything to her already. "Oh Nyla darling! I'm sorry about your boyfriend,"

she rubs my shoulder. "Ex boyfriend," I corrected! " Yes sorry!" She smiles. " And about Eric....well I'm sure he mean no harm. He is just not good at voicing out his feelings. Despite his pride and everything, I think he really do likes you." " He may be three years ago, but not anymore!" I murmur. "

Now he hates me , I have no idea why. Mom seems to kick against. "Well maybe you do not know the whole story.

I still recall how you left three years ago , Eric went through quite tough time." I look up to her confused. "That's when he moved out." Mom signs "He got into a huge fight with Gabriel. They rarely talk to each other soon.

He's become quite...well how should I put it...gloomy." Eric and gloomy? I highly doubt that. ". Mother, this is far-fetching.

I think he's just upset because you and mr Demirexas were getting married. I have nothing to with this!" "No i don't think he cares that much about our union." Mom smiles wanly, " But can you try to be friends with Eric? It's already hard enough to have two persons ignoring each other under this roof.

"Mom." I try to remember, "I'm not staying in fact I'm leaving today." There's nothing with sticking around for.

It's already awful enough to get dumped by my boyfriend, I do not not have to stay here and enjoy my mom's remarried life. Minus that...., it's too awkward to stay in Eric's bedroom.

I dash upstairs to get my belongings, despite mom calling my name behind, I ignore her and dial dad's number. He picks up on the first ring, Nyla everything alright?" " Yeah.

Just want you to know I'm coming home today. Can you pick me up at the airport later? He sounds astonished, " Today? But Nyla...I thought you were going to stay a bit longer." " Well if you can't make it, I can take the shuttle.

No worries." His voice tense up even more, it's not that.... I thought that_ I mean why don't you stay at your mother's place a bit longer?" My body becomes stif.

I can sense a trace of nervousness and embarrassment in his tone. " Dad...." I tense! " Are you asking me not to come home?"
