Chapter 8 The call to Pamela

Fred woke up the next morning with a heavy headache, he looked around him, how did he end up on the couch, the incident of last night came back to his memory. His head was too heavy to think about it. So he called one of the maids, and they brought drugs for him.

He took the drugs and waited for some minutes before his head cleared a little. He now recalled how Rena turned him down yesterday and how he drank down the bottle of champagne his wife was drinking.

He was still feeling bad about her recent attitude toward him. He thought of what to do, all of this started when I brought his cousin, into this house without her permission.

"Does that mean that I must seek her consent before I do anything in my home?"

"I must do something to stop this absurdity, but what? I will find out what makes her act this way" Fred said and went to his room to get ready for work.

Fred came to Ethan's room and knocked on the door, Ethan came out and greeted him

"Did you see my wife?" He asked.

"She must be somewhere around the house" Ethan answered him.

"No, I don't think so. I have searched everywhere for her in this house, but she is nowhere to be found." Fred said.

"Maybe she has gone to work, you know that she always goes to work on time any time she is not happy. Did you guys fight? He asked him.

"No, we don't, I have to go and get ready for work," Fred said and left him.

Ethan closed the door and came back to the bed where I was panicking.

"Come here, he is gone," Ethan said pulling me into his arms.

"Please leave me alone, Fred might come back here again," I said.

"No, he won't," Ethan said trying to push me back to the bed, but I wriggled out of his arms and quietly left his room. I tiptoe to our room and I found Fred ready for work.

I was startled, the moment, I saw him. He looked at me cruelly and asked

"where are you going from?"

I panicked and answered

"I...I am coming from the kitchen, do you need anything?" I answered

Fred looked at me and left in anger.

I sat down, putting my two hands on my head, I recovered a little and got ready to work.

I left to work with Ethan who has vowed never to leave my side again. The fashion festival was fast approaching, and we have done most of the dresses for the show, but we still need to put the finishing touches. We still have a lot to do with the dresses to bring them to their final stage. So I call my sister Pamela who has returned from her trip, to help me take care of my kids because I won't be home early.

"Sis, why can't you leave the kids with us? Why did you want me to bring them when you know you will not have time for them" Pamela said

They need to see their father, he has been around for over a week now and he is asking about them. Since you are free, why can't you come over to my house and be with the kid until I am done with this fashion festival" I pleaded?

"Okay, okay, I will bring them home, and I will stay with them until you are done with your fashion show, but you must pay me," Pamela said.

"Pam, I know you love money, and so I know how to pay you well," I said and she laughed.

"I will bring them tomorrow if that will be okay with you," she told me.

"That will be okay. See you then," she said and cut the line.
