Chapter 5 The unpleasant encounter

I was certainly no longer myself currently, my husband left the office but I could no longer concentrate on the job at hand.

The International fashion festival is fast approaching, and I have not produced enough designs for the show. My designer was doing their best, but my design is always the one that the company uses for the first outing and the last outing. I have not polished a decent sketch yet because of Ethan.

I locked up my office and drove home.

Fred was not at home, and Ethan was nowhere to be found. I went to my room and lay down on the bed. I couldn't even sleep, l was just turning on my bed.

Furthermore, I can't keep my mind off Fred's statement, was he already suspecting Ethan and me? What did he mean by it always ends badly when the servant left his corner and jumped on his master's table to eat his master's food?

I doze off while thinking about the whole thing. I was in deep sleep when I felt someone touching me and running his hand all over my body.

I opened my eyes to see Fred on top of me.

"Honey, sorry for disturbing you. I missed you a lot". He attempted to kiss me, but I don't even know when I pushed him away.

"Look, Fred, I am not in the mood," I said.

My husband's presence suddenly irritates me. I know we were not close before, but now, I felt nothing at all.

Fred Douglas was the most powerful and handsome billionaire in Freetown, yet he was treated like trash in his house by his wife.

I don't like what was going on between us but I can't control my emotions.

"Are you by any means avoiding me? Fred asked

"Oh come off it Fred, how can you say a thing like that? I am not in the mood, that's all." I said.

"Honey, tell me what is bothering you. Tell me and consider it done. You know that I can do anything for you. That's how much you mean to me" he pleaded to know.

I don't need anything, I am okay.

Are you still angry that I told your cousin to stay? Fred asked

"No, I will do something with you when we come back in the night". I said.

"Promise?" He asked

"Yes, I promise," I said, planning on how to get myself drunk at tonight's party to be able to satisfy him.

"If you say so, I will let you rest." He said and left the room. My mind went back to what happened in the office in the morning. I smiled and picked up my phone and sent Ethan's text message

"Where are you? I wrote. I waited for his reply but got no answers, I sent another message.

"I am missing you, please talk to me," I said

I waited for his reply but got none.

I became restless because Ethan was no where to be found.

Not only that, I also left my room and proceed to searching for him. I also went to his room to look for him, but he was not there, I went to the gym, but he is still not there.

Then, I asked my workers if they have any idea where he went to, and they said no.

I became restless I don't even know when it was time for the party.

Fred came into my room, looking charming as ever. I was surprised to see him dressed like that. I have forgotten about the party. He was so stunned when he glimpsed my unprepared body.

"Why are you not prepared? He said

I am sorry I didn't realize it was time already, permit me to quickly get prepared. I said and went into the shower. He slumped down on the mattress and waited for me.

I storm out before he knew it, I was already prepared. He looked at me in admiration. I don't need many make-ups to be beautiful, hand in hand we walked out of the room.

We looked perfect according to outsiders, but within me, Ethan would have been the man I am going out with today.

We got to the party, Fred introduced me to the top men and women of society. It was top citizens of Freetown that were in the party.

After introducing me to them, Fred went in with some group of men for business discussions. I got weary, I don't know any of these women, Fred doesn't go out with me, and so I don't get to know his friend's wives.

Most of the women seem to know each other, very well, they form a group and engrossed themselves in discussions.

I went outside to receive some fresh air. Suddenly from nowhere a hand came from my behind and covered my mouth, before I could utter a word, he trudged me out from the balconies into the dark night. I was trying hard to let go of his grasp, but he appears strong to my resilience.

When we stood at a safe distance from the people, he permits me to go. I turned around and stare at Ethan, he grinned at me and I flee into his arms. Inhaling his wonderful fragrance. Looking into his eyes, he gleamed at me.

"I am sorry I took you away like that". He murmured,

"Where have you been? I have been looking for you. I inquired. "Don't you get my message?" I implored him.

"I saw them all," he said, still holding me in his arms.

"I yearn to discern how greatly you missed me," he said.

"I miss you quite much," I said.

He looked into my eyes, still holding me tightly," "Come with me." He said.

I foolishly followed him to his car, and we drove out. I can't remember that I showed up to a party with my husband and left with another man.

We drove a few miles before Ethan stopped at a lonely path, he kept driving until we stopped at the gigantic fence that was so long that I can't even see where the end was from where I stood.

He opened the gate from the car, it was an automatic gate. He drove inside. My instinct was screaming get out, but my body which was fond of Ethan was saying otherwise.

He parked the car in the garage, closed the garage, and locked it. And we went inside a little bungalow, it was a modest house, nothing to compare with Fred's Villa.

Although the compound was considerable like our villa, the building was also very far from The gate.

The house looked clean and tidy. It looks like someone was living here or someone makes use of it recently.

Ethan locked the door and brought me into his arms, he whispered

"You are safe now" is only you and me here. We are free.

"Ethan, I need to go back to the party before Fred starts looking for me". I anxiously said

He ignored me and continued cuddling me.

Whispering certain things into my ears, which made me to relaxed in his arms.
