Chapter 4 The Legendary Alpha King

Ralph

'Flashback'

Darkness cloaked the whole of the pack and den. Rain dropped from the sky like tears. Thunder stroke and lighting bolted on this dark violent night.

I waited at the entrance, panting like a running wolf. I was hidden in the darkness of the hallway, waiting for her to approach.

The door creaked open. I could see Leia's long chocolate hair and slim face peek through the door. Her eyes scanned the hallway. She wasn't drenched like I expected her to be because she had an umbrella over her head.

She came into the den and closed an umbrella I never got her. Then she let it rest on the wall. Leia removed her black fur coat and hung it, sighing in relief.

"Where have you been?" She shuddered, noticing my presence as I came out of the darkness. She stepped back and whimpered as I moved closer to her. Her hazel eyes stared into my cold emerald eyes. "Where have you been?!" My voice was louder and thicker this time.

She gulped and closed her eyes, bracing herself for what was coming to her.

"That's none of your business," she replied confidently even though I could still hear the quiver in her voice.

"You are my Luna. I own you. You must tell me," I said.

"I-I have the right to leave the den if I want to."

I hissed. "How dare you?!"

I hit the floor in anger and it broke.

My anger made my skin replace itself with fur.

"How dare you?!" She replied me with my own words. I could hear her boiling blood rush through her veins.

"You think you can keep me in this den like your multiple s*x slaves and concubines!"

"That's no excuse. You are mine!"

Leia turned away to run up the stairs but I held her hand and dragged her back to me. Her chest hit mine but she quickly moved away from me. My grip was stronger than her stubbornness.

"I can never be yours!"

"Speak with respect. I am your Alpha!"

"Alpha my foot!" She glared at me heatedly. "You've never given me what any other wolf could easily have! You don't deserve me."

It was now I could scent another wolf's fur on her. I smelt it on the umbrella as well and then I understood.

"Tell me his name. Tell me!" I demanded immediately.

"I don't know who you're talking about." Her voice was lower and she struggled lesser with me on hearing my words.

"Tell me now!" She shook her head hesitantly, afraid to say words.

"I'll make you talk."

I tightened my grip and dragged her up the stairs. She did everything she could to free herself. She kicked, blew, and fought but when she bit me with her fangs. I threw her off from the few steps we had climbed to quiet her for a moment. She rolled down and landed on the icy floor.

"Get up, Leia! Don't make me angry." But there was no movement from her. I couldn't hear her heavy breathing. I couldn't hear her heart pacing. I couldn't hear her angry voice.

Shocked, I turned to her and her motionless body remained on the floor.

I ran down the stairs and held her as gently as I could, trying to wake her. "Leia. Get up, Leia! I am not done with you yet. Get up now! I said get up Leia!!!"

She didn't move because she couldn't. I dropped her dead body on the floor and stepped back in horror, looking at my cold murderer hands. I never hated her. I loved her but I just didn't know how to love.

I was never taught to love. I was only taught to rip out hearts and torture to death. I fell to my knees and looked out the window. The darkness still masked everywhere. I thought it would vanish like it always did.

But the day I killed my mate, was the day the darkness continued to linger over my pack and my heart... forever...

'Flashback over'

The wolverine was staring at me. It wasn't one of fear or terror, it was of curiosity. Did she feel it as well? Hunter, my wolf, was uneasy. He was telling me what I already knew but it scared me. Another mate?

Akira

He had long black hair, like that of a dark lord, that fell over his shoulders. He was taller than an average man and had flashy emerald eyes that you couldn't miss. I would have said his skin was spotless if not for a crescent-like scar that cut across his neck.

There was this powerful aura around him that I had never gotten from anyone else. Not even the Dragon Lord. And this consuming darkness.

He had mouth-watering abs that I could imagine through his leather clothes, and those biceps and triceps... He looked at me like he was looking through me.

He couldn't stop staring. My wolf was edgy. I didn't even know how I had a wolf when I hadn't shifted. The only time I felt this way was with the Dragon Lord. Wait, was he... my second mate?

'Moon goddess, what are you planning now?'

"Alpha..." the raven-haired wolverine called his attention. He blinked away, looking at Daphne, his Gamma.

"Where did you find her?!"

Daphne looked alarmed at his quick reply. "She was lurking around... Alpha, are you okay?"

He was their Alpha? I was so done with Alphas and Lords. So done!

The Alpha looked at me, fear and confusion in his eyes, before storming out.

"Keep an eye on her. Alpha..." she said, speeding after him and leaving me with three wolves.

When the Alpha left, he left with a part of me. A part I never thought I had.

I was frightened to be left with males because I only had bad experiences with them. I had to act. I stood and kicked the unsuspecting wolf that held my hand. Before he could retaliate, I blew his face and jumped to the ceiling like Spiderman.

"Holy Goddess!" they exclaimed.

I clutched to the ceiling like an ant, preventing them from getting me. They shifted and tried to jump to me but I crawled out of the chamber. That didn't stop them from following me. When I was just a step ahead of them, I jumped down and ran for my life through the narrow hallway.

I didn't know where I was headed but I just didn't want to be anywhere around them. I took a quick turn and shot fireballs from my hands. They stopped, trying to find a way around the fire barrier I had made.

I faced forward but then, my chest hit that of another.

Instead of bouncing away, I landed in the hands of someone. He didn't take hold of me like I expected him to but his hard hands held me as softly as possible. I looked up and met with emerald eyes. His touch was electrifying and I felt attached to him.

I didn't want to let go, even in the situation. He was staring again. The wolves found a way around the fire. I didn't know when they pulled me away from the Alpha.

"Leave her!"

His words were so loud that I lost stamina and almost fell but on impulse, he grabbed my waist and pulled me back to him.

The Alpha was making my hormones and my wolf go haywire.

"We will take care of her, Alpha," Daphne said, grabbing my hand and pulling me away from him.

"Don't lay a finger on her!"

Daphne turned to him, surprised. "But Alpha..."

"Take her to a room and keep her there."

"She's a..."

He raised a warning finger at her. "Don't question my authority." It was more of a warning than a command.

Still steaming in anger she bowed her head. "Yes, Alpha."

"Do as I say."

He gave me a last look and walked away.

Daphne turned to the wolves, looking at me in revolt. "Don't just stand there! Do as he said."

I struggled once more but the wolves carried me to a room and pushed me inside, locking me in. I banged on the door and tried to get it open. Frustrated, I surveyed the room I was kept in for an escape plan.

But, I calmed when I absorbed its look.

It reminded me of my room in my old pack. I thought I was miserable when I lived there but I would've preferred to be there than anywhere else right now.

After a day's work and being verbally abused, I would have ten hours to myself in this room of mine, where I could do anything I wanted. Life was simpler then. Now, I didn't understand anything anymore.

I was more of an introvert and would most times end up reading books. Speaking of books, the scar on the Alpha's neck and his long black hair reminded me of a legendary Alpha I once read about.

This legendary Alpha was the Alpha King. He was made the Alpha at a very young age of thirteen when his parents were killed by dragons. Back then, the way dragons were ruled over the Dragon Lord, wolves were also ruled under one Alpha.

The book didn't tell me much about his parents and his relationship with them. It was also said that his father was the greatest warrior.

Because of this, he trained his first and only child all the skills and secret flairs that made him an almost invincible leader. And the Alpha was even better at this. The Alpha's name was Raphael.

The fascinating part about the story was that he killed his mate. His mate cursed him and he vanished, along with a crucial part of the pack. When the wolves had no leader to guide them, there was a war among the wolves. The dragons wanted to take advantage of that.

Wolves knew about this and scattered. That's why today, there are packs of different sizes dispersed all over Lunagron. Till today, no one knows where the Alpha King is.
