Chapter 5 The Birth

Theodore silently examines the width of the ocean and the fresh wind during those minutes on the beach on the island where Amanda lives. Within a year of his marriage to Amanda he was here on the island living with the woman, and somehow he was accustomed to living simply in this place, similar to how Amanda had been accustomed to since she was young. He did not think that despite the life he was used to, he would be able to live in a simple place that did not require expensive things to live.

When Amanda noticed that Theodore was alone on the beach and seemed to be deep in thought, she immediately approached the man, and sit beside him to converse with him on the white sand.

"Does my husband have a problem?" Amanda immediately asked if she could finally sit next to Theodore, but in those moments only a shook of head was the man's answer to her. She just ignored it and thought that maybe her husband's current problem was too big and he could not tell her yet, so she would understand it first. Even though Theodore's behavior has been like this for several months and she still tries to understand, Amanda feels that Theodore is getting cold to her but she does not let the man know that she knows it, for whatever reason, maybe she loves him, and she did not want to lose the man in her life. She smiled slightly and immediately leaned her head on the man's arms as he touched her nine-month-old womb. She is pregnant and any time she can give birth, they find out three months ago that they will be having a twin and she can not describe the happiness she felt because of what she found out but this is probably why Theodore is getting cold to her, because since he found out that he will have twins with Amanda, his relationship with the woman has changed and is not the same as before. But Amanda is just always positive and she thinks that maybe the reason of Theodore's behavior changed was because of his business and maybe he had a big problem there that he did not tell to Amanda.

"It is just a matter of time, isn't it? It seems like I did not want to marry you before, but look. We have been married for over a year, and this month I am going to give birth to our twins." Amanda said at the same time as she let out a genuine smile on her lips, unable to compensate her joy at knowing that she was going to have a child with Theodore.

Ever since she became her husband their home has not been demolished yet, her neighbors apologized to her for immediately saying and judging her for just one thought mistake. At first her mother did not allow her to marry Theodore, but Amanda was so confident then, she wanted to stay in this place and she could not ignore the importance of the island to all the people living in it. It was not easy for her and Theodore to get along but during the days they were together she could not stop herself from falling in love with the man. She already loved him, so that love has already borne fruit that is why she is pregnant at the moment. Her mother is no longer hungry and they no longer feel hardship in life either because Theodore is always assigned to what they eat and for their financial needs, he buys everything Amanda wants and even what Amanda does not want. Amanda continues to hear a lot of judgment, many assume that she is just chasing Theodore for money and she just used her beauty to seduce the man and get all his riches. Sometimes she could not even help but be hurt by what was said to her but she wondered that whatever the reason she married Theodore it was because for their island, and whatever the reason she loved the man it was because of that how she feels for him and not because of Theodore's money and appearance.

Life was just like that at that time for Amanda, you would be judged right away the moment you had a boyfriend who was far away from the state of your life. They feel like you only want money and you do not really love that person, which is very nauseating when heard over and over again. She just endures the hurtful words he hears as long as what is important to her is that her intentions are pure and she is sure that it is not just because of Theodore's wealth that she loves him. She truly loved Theodore for what and who it was, even though she had not yet met the boy's parents, she knew it came from a good family, because that is what Theodore had been showing her for months that they had been together. She has also talked to Theodore several times that she wants to get to know his family, so that she can somehow introduce herself to her husband's parents and be with them but every time she says that to Theodore, he always changes the topic. Amanda does not think that Theodore really does not want to introduce her to his parents because of the state of her life which comes from a poor family and she is a fisherwoman working for her mother who has heart disease but she just thinks that Theodore might have a problem with his parents so until now Amanda still has not sees them.

All the negative things Amanda sees in Theodore she tries to ignore it and just pay attention to. She knew that as a wife that was what she should do, understand Theodore and accept who he was because that was what they swore in front of the altar through thick and thin they should be with each other. In the moments, Amanda could not help but be happy when she was with her husband, she felt her life had already had a direction and the space she had been looking for since her father died was filled by Theodore.

"You know, while I was talking to you a year ago not to demolish our place, in those moments I felt a strange beating of my heart. I did not pay attention to that because I felt like I did not deserve to feel that way, I came from a difficult background. As for you, it looks like you come from a wealthy family, in the first look, yeah, it can be seen that you come from a rich family, which is highly regarded by our place. That is why when I first saw you I did not look you in the eye, because that is our tradition, we should not belooking into the eyes of someone we know has royal blood, it seems like a blasphemy to them. But I will admit that I really could not help but look at you in those moments, because it was only in those period of time that I met someone who cared about how I felt, you even gave me a tissue, didn't you? Except for my parents, you are the only one who made me feel how important I am, I do not know even if you are not showy I know you feel the same way about me. I love you, Theodore. You will always remember that I love you because that is how I really feel about you and not because of what people say about ours." Amanda said at the same time as she touched the man's cheek and she looked into his brown eyes, at the same time she was smiling genuinely.

Instead Theodore answers her by also telling her how much she loves her but it is contrary to Amanda's expectations. Suddenly Theodore got up from his seat and without warning left Amanda in that direction. For a few months, that was the usual scenario for the two of them, and even though Amanda was hurt by her husband's behavior, she still tried to understand it and she still tried to extend her patience because it was just like she said. her duty as husband. Even when she was young she had already told herself that she would be a good husband to her husband and take care of her, and she would understand it no matter what. She just let Theodore go without saying a word to keep it by her side. She just closed her eyes tightly at the same time as shedding tears that she had been holding back for a long time. Even if she endures Theodore's cold treatment of her, she still can not deny and hide that she is already hurt. She also has feelings, sometimes she is just good at pretending but she is really hurt every time she sees Theodore is no longer interested in her, she does not seem like he used to be. She did not know where Theodore was going but it had often left their place ever since, and wherever it was going she had no idea. She thinks it is for the man's business. But sometimes she also can not help but suspect that maybe he already loves someone else, he has found another woman who is in the same state of his life.

Out of sheer curiosity it was inevitable that Amanda would follow wherever Theodore was going in those moments. She noticed that it always goes to a cave not far from their island, so she did everything she could so that Theodore would not notice that she was following him even though Amanda was having difficulty walking because of the weight of her womb she was only able to figure out because of Theodore's change. The road to the cave was so steep that she had to slow down so that Theodore could not hear her footsteps. She was almost out of breath because of the distance she walked, and in her situation it was difficult for her to walk too far because she was also scheduled to give birth this month.

When she heard a voice she immediately hid in a hallway not far from where Theodore was and when whoever it was talking to Amanda had not yet seen the look. She stayed in that place especially then realizing that a woman was with Theodore, she wanted to be sure who that woman was, she did not want to be carried away by her own emotions. But she also could not help but suspect why the two of them were still meeting here, in a secret place that no one knew about and was not visited by many. Amanda did not think that Theodore always went to this place with a woman, she wanted to cry but she just stopped because she still had some trust in her husband in those moments.

"When do you plan to go home to the palace? Theodore, our kingdom needs you, there has been more than a year without a leader of the Werewolves. Many of them are already sowing terror in the town, they can no longer wait for our race to lead the whole world." The woman's voice, and Amanda knew it was from the woman Theodore was talking to at the moment. Amanda still could not understand what her husband and the woman were talking about, even though she could clearly hear every word it said, she still could not help but be confused.

"Can you wait, Ophelia? Amanda has not given birth yet. I need to get my child to her before I can finally lead our race." Theodore said emphatically, it seemed uneasy as he held his head, he seemed troubled.

"Remember this, Theodore. I am your real wife, and you just faked your marriage to that mortal. You only used her to have a child, which I can not give you. Besides the fact that we can not have a child, a mortal is it is stated in the prophecy that should be the mother of your child. I agreed to that, but just make sure you just used her and you did not fall for her. Be true to your words, Theodore-"

The woman named Ophelia was unable to continue what she wanted to say when suddenly Theodore spoke emphatically and loudly.

"I will never fall for that woman, for a mortal. Everything I do is for the good of our race, Ophelia. Everything I have long planned from our first meeting to our wedding, I have long thought, how to be kind and how I can make her fall into my trap and at the moment I look forward to just that she will give birth to my child so that I can leave this stupid place forever and never come back again. You are still my legal wife if that is your problem, I just used that woman to fulfill the prophecy." Theodore said emphatically, the words coming out of his mouth were clear and the boredom he had felt during the many days he had been with Amanda was obvious.

All they talked about was heard by Amanda who was now preventing her tears from pouring out, even though she did not understand what Theodore's prophecy was saying and what it was stating that was he does was for their race. It is clear that the man used her to have a child and he has already a wife. She was quietly crying that she was about to sit on the rocks in the cave because she was so hurt and could not stand what she heard.

"Good. But do not expect me to accept your child into a mortal. I am always watching you from afar with that woman, I know she loves you, I want to hurt her because I am jealous of the attention you give her and only once in a while if we meet but I can not do it, because I know what your purpose is why you got close to her and now that I know you are about to come home to me my satisfaction can not be matched." Ophelia said at the same time as she approached Theodore's face and she immediately kissed him hard on the lips, as if she was already longing for the man, because she had also not been with him for a long time. That thing was unable to escape Amanda's attention, she immediately wiped away her tears, and walked over to where Theodore and Ophelia and they were still kissing.

"You can not take my kids. You are a fool if you think you are going to fool me again." Amanda said emphatically that was the reason why Theodore and Ophelia looked at her whereabouts, at the same time they stopped their torrid kissing. Theodore's eyes almost widened when he saw Amanda in front of them, her cheeks was wet from the tears that had been dripping from her eyes. Amanda's eyes were full of anger and resentment, she was very hurt by what she heard but she did not want to be carried away by her emotions until Theodore finally got her children, and fulfilled his plan, she did not want that to happen.

"Then you are also a fool if you think you can do something to keep my husband from taking his child with you. You do not know what power he has, woman. He just used you-"

"Enough!" Ophelia was no longer able to continue what she wanted to say when Theodore suddenly shouted, which is why she was silenced. She knows the man when he is angry, he does not care who you are, he will kill you whenever he wants.

"Go away, Ophelia. I will take care of this mess." Theodore said emphatically as he looked at Ophelia as if he was scaring her.

"But-"

"Leave!"

Ophelia did not do anything when Theodore sent her away, even if it was against her will, she did not do anything, she passed Amanda's place and then hit the woman's shoulder. "Mistress!" she whispered as she rolled her eyes to her after that she left immediately, Amanda was almost shocked to see that the eyes of the woman who was talking to Theodore earlier had turned golden-yellow, it was almost impossible for her to move from her place due to extreme fear. She did not know what was the reason for the sudden change in the woman's face but she knew that the people with her in that area were not ordinary creatures.

"Everything you have heard is true. I do not want to prolong this discourse any longer." Theodore immediately said as he walked close to Amanda's whereabouts, and that became an opportunity for Amanda to slap the man with all her might. With the slap she gave Theodore, it seemed there that she had poured out all her resentment, and the anger she felt in those moments. She did not know what kind of creature she was facing but in those moments she felt no fear, and whatever the reason she did not know.

Theodore accepted Amanda's slap on him, it remained calm as he looked directly at the woman's face. There was also a few seconds of silence between them before Theodore finally spoke.

"A-Amanda, l-listen to m-me-" The man was no longer able to continue what he wanted to say when he suddenly felt the pain of his heart, as if something was stabbing that part which caused him to touch that area of his body and venture to relieve the pain he was feeling. It will also be noticed that the last thing he said he could not say it directly, perhaps in those moments he already felt something strange inside him.

But that thing was ignored by Amanda, because she was already carrying her emotions in those moments and she also could not help but say everything she wanted to say.

"I loved you, Theodore. I accepted you into my life despite the fact that I did not know where you came from, but when I was with you, everything suddenly changed. I gradually knew what kind of person you were, but I never thought that all of that was just a pretend of yours! I don't regret that thing, that you came into my life, that my kids came into my life, but it seems like I am the only one who feels that. You are a worthless creature! I trust you!" Amanda said with all her might, in those moments her eyes continued to water and she could barely breathe as she said those words.

"A-Amanda-"

"I do not want to hear your voice anymore! From now on you have no rights to our children. You can not take them from me, for your own self -interest, I will not let even your own child, be affected by your wickedness. I will never let them get to know you, I swear that-" Amanda could not continue what she wanted to say when she suddenly felt the pain in her stomach, and in those moments she also noticed that there was a burst of water on the private part of her body, which she was very worried about. It was about to sit on the rocks not far from where she was, at the same time she was screaming loudly because she could no longer control the pain in her womb.

"A-Amanda? W-What's g-going o-on?" Even though Theodore was having difficulty speaking, he was still able to go to Amanda's current location and then support her by sitting down. Nor could the anxiety be hidden on the man's face, despite the pain of his heart.

Even though Theodore knew nothing of how to get a baby out of a woman's womb, he did everything he could to facilitate Amanda's birth, so that he wouldn't have to struggle with his current situation as well. He ignored the pain of his heart as if he was being stabbed in that part, and he was almost out of breath, but when he saw that Amanda was also weakening, it seemed to be his strength somehow. Almost a few hours passed and a healthy baby finally came out of Amanda's womb. Moments later, Theodore noticed that there was still something left in Amanda's womb because the woman was still screaming at those moments even though she was fainting and it was only then that it entered his mind that their child was indeed a twin.

After Amanda released her twin, she suddenly lost consciousness.

"A-Amanda? Amanda!" Theodore calls Amanda's name, but she does not seem to hear her anymore and she seems lifeless in those moments. He was still trying to wake the woman when Ophelia suddenly came who did not leave and just kept listening to the conversation between the two.

She took hold of Theodore's baby in those moments, the first baby to come out of Amanda's womb and she was very surprised to see that he had another child it was lying on Amanda's side, and they were twins.

"Let's leave, Theodore." Ophelia said immediately as she watched her husband, trying to wake the lifeless Amanda.

"She needs me." He mentioned that his voice could tell the great concern, which he had only felt in his whole life.

"She is dead, and your mission to her is over. I already have your first child, come on!" Ophelia said loudly.

Later on, she was very shocked to hear Theodore's deafening voice, as he held his chest. His loud shout lasted for a few seconds and after that his eyes immediately turned red. A smirk crept across his lips after he saw the baby Ophelia was holding. He seems to be different from who he was before.

He was scary to look at, add to that his disturbing red eyes. After he watched his daughter being held by Ophelia in those moments; he suddenly says,

"Let's get out of here."
