Chapter 10 Her Death

Valeria would have been seen preparing herself in her bedroom on a Sunday night. When she went there, she was dressed in a Brown strapless faux leather dress that she bought in New York steadily for the past month. She smiled in the mirror when she was delighted with her looks while wearing red lipstick to complement her current style. She has a date with Atlas every Sunday; they always eat at a well-known restaurant and are accustomed to doing so.

She quickly picked up her luxury suitcase and exited her room, where she had seen her grandma watching television in the living room, then in a wheelchair. She looked at her with a smile, and remembered the moments they did not have enough money and were still deep in debt of money one decade ago. But now their lives seemed far away, and it was because of Valeria's determination to give Mildred the life she had long dreamed of.

She immediately went to Mildred and kissed her on the forehead, "Grandma, I am going ahead; I will be home before 10 in the evening, Atlas and I merely have a date; be cautious here, I love you." she said and a sweet smile would not leave her lips.

"Just stay here, do not leave me. Let's watch television, the show is entertaining." Mildred expressed her displeasure at her only granddaughter's leaving, which had caught Valeria by surprise. When Valeria departs, she usually goes to her grandma first, who always approves and allows her go do anything she wants since she knows Valeria is at the right age and she can do what she wants already.

But something seemed to be preventing the old woman from allowing her grand daughter this time, for reasons Valeria did not quite understand. Valeria immediately leaned over her grandmother and suddenly hugged her tightly, seemingly taking advantage of those moments, her heart full of joy because since then, until now her grandmother's love for her has not changed.

"I love you, thank you for loving me, and I am pleased I was able to fulfill my goals for you; you deserve it." Valeria mentioned as she kissed her grandmother's cheek, who was now just looking at her as if in tears.

"Right now, I have to leave first, maybe Atlas and I broke up when I did not attend our date and do not worry because our date will happen tomorrow, so get ready, and wear fancy clothes, okay? All right, I need to leave. Be careful here if you need anything, our helper is there." Valeria reminded her grandmother, at the same time releasing it from the old woman's hand, but the old woman immediately pulled her hand away.

Simultaneously saying the words;

"Hurry up then come back. We will sleep together again."

Valeria rushed out of their house, and he saw Atlas outside of his car and waiting to her, he was dressed in gray and white plaid dress pants, brown leather shoes, matching leather belt, white button-up, bracelets, and a watch. This is his typical attire, and it suits him since it makes him appear more respectable and dignified, and it also enhances his attractive looks.

When Atlas saw Valeria, he kissed her on the lips hastily and murmur into her ears, "You are stunning."

When they get inside a well known restaurant, which only famous personalities and businessmans can enter there because of the expensive cuisine that is almost half a million. They finally picked a location with a picturesque view; the beauty of the entire environment is evident in the glass window, particularly the lights that serve as light there, adding romance to the entire settings. They were served an introductory dessert before moving on to the main course. Valeria seemed to enjoy the cuisine right away, and she seemed to have plans to return to that place.

"I love you, Valeria. We have been together for a long time. I know our relationship has no destination other than the wedding. I want to present you at the altar and we can build our own family. I don't want to waste any more time.." Atlas immediately knelt down, and took an emerald-cut diamond ring from his pocket, when Valeria saw it she immediately burst into tears. She did not think that her long dream would come true, she became very emotional in those moments while waiting for Atlas to ask her, even before that, she knew exactly how she would respond when the time came.

"Will you marry me?"

Valeria was about to speak something she wanted to say, and she knew Atlas would be interested in hearing it, when a sharp hands punctured Valeria's stomach from her back. Blood almost gushed out of the woman's mouth as an unusual creature slowly took its hand on her body. Valeria's eyes remained wide as her body fell to the floor, and she was almost difficult to breathe because of her condition.

Everyone in the restaurant raced out, screamed, and cried in despair at what they were seeing. Meanwhile, Atlas remained still on his knees, his entire body shivering and unable to move. He could not even resist, scream, become enraged, retaliate, and rush up to Valeria, who was dying, and for him to embrace her firmly. When he saw what had happened to Valeria, it was as if a hammer had struck him in the chest so hard that he could barely breathe or move. Because of his situation, it appears that he was also murdered and injured, too. His lips quiver, but he just can not find the right words to express his feelings at the time. He wanted to come closer to his girlfriend but never could, and the worst part was that he just allowed an exceptional beast flee the restaurant without even retaliating for what it had done to his girlfriend.

A heartless creature that is commonly called, Werewolves.

He did not believe this was real; he claimed he had simply read about them in books and the news at the day, and that there was insufficient proof to verify their existence. He did not believe he'd be able to prove it until something terrible happened that he hadn't foreseen.

An idiot, that is what he's thinking to himself at the time, while glancing at Valeria, who was unconscious. It seemed only in those moments did his mind return to reality and in such moments, he was finally able to speak;

"Valeria.."
